Fantastic meal! Carsten was amazing explaining all the dishes, pairing wine with the dishes. We were visiting Copenhagen and looking for a wonderful “experience” dinner. Carsten creates a menu to complement the artists work on display in the gallery! The food was very delicious we did the 4 dish tasting menu. Pictured white asparagus with crayfish fish and hollandaise, fresh baked bread, shrimp with fresh fruit and veggie salsa, mullet fish! Don’t miss this experience.

Great fish&cheese based tasting menu with really good matching wines; just trust them! And concluding the night with cheese tasting plate with 3 different sweet wines, best desert ever.

We experienced an amazing service walking us through a delicious tasting menu. The vine pairing was a perfect match. My favorites were the sea bass, the bacalhau and the beef.

Google
What an incredible experience this was. Easily beat out previous Michelin experiences we’ve had. The staff and owner were so friendly, knowledgeable, and wonderful, an effortless dining experience. Everyone that walked in seemed to know the owner and the staff, giving this fine-dining experience real soul and community connection.

Google
Excellent meal, wonderful fresh food with excellent flavors. Specific menu items rotate with the art on display in the gallery, heavily weighted towards seafood (Crab Garden, after all). We did the tasting menu with wine pairing. Every item was delicious and beautifully plated. Highly recommend the cheese board with 17 different cheeses to try. Service was friendly, unpretentious, and sincere.

The food at Krebsegaarden was absolutely outstanding—easily one of the best meals of the trip. The bacala was unforgettable—one of the best bites I’ve ever had. That said, the service felt a bit pushy; they were overly insistent about pouring more wine, which got uncomfortable after a while. Also, pricing isn’t clearly communicated at the start, which left us unsure of what we were committing to. Incredible cooking, but the overall experience would have been better with a more relaxed, transparent approach.

We ordered the chefs choice with wine pairing. The food was ok, good quality but fell short for the price we paid. The cheese board was impressive and so was the crayfish. What really brought the restaurant from a 3 star to 4, was the service and the spirit in the place. The staff were very knowledgeable, they paid attention to all the guests and they were never short of a joke. A bit pricy for the experience but a lovely visit with a lot of smiles.

Google
Great experience! We got a food + wine menu, I strongly recommend going “all in”, because it’s worth it. Delicious dishes, very good wine parings and nice presentation. Besides, it is very reasonably priced.

Yelp
I can't imagine eating here and not letting the wait staff curate your meal through the tasting dinner option. Everything was delicious and the service was phenomenal. The wine pairings were also great, and they offered very small pours at our request so we could enjoy the flavors even though we are lightweights.

Yelp
Pricey, but great food and wine, cozy place and very sweet, sociable, informative, attentive staff. Casual, but fine, authentic cuisine is difficult to do well without coming off douchey, and this place does it really well.

Yelp
This place was amazing. Food, wine and service were 5 stars all around. Really cool concept where the menu is inspired in some way by the the exhibition in a neighboring art gallery (whose art spills into the restaurant), while still using Scandinavian ingredients. We opted for the tasting menu with wine parings, which is a great value, given that it is basically the same price as a la carte, but allows you to try several dishes and wines. The white asparagus soup and bacalao were the highlights for me, offering a depth of flavor that I have rarely tasted from those ingredients. Even though I know little about wine, I could tell that the parings were perfectly tailored for each course. The house made bread was also excellent and contributed to the fact that we were so full that we opted to skip desert and move straight to a post-dinner whiskey tasting. I rarely even comment on service in my reviews (I just care a lot more about the food), but the service was an integral part of the experience at Restaurant Krebsegaarden. The head Chef and the Sommelier served our table personally and spent a ton of time interacting with us. They were both very friendly, funny and extremely knowledgeable about both their food and beverages. Their gracious service elevated the meal from merely delicious to a truly memorable experience. One thing to note is that this is a very small restaurant (5-6 tables) and we saw the staff turn away several walk ins during our meal. Reserve ahead and you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
There is a very good reason this place is the #1 Copenhagen restaurant on TripAdvisor. To start off, the service is excellent. The two guys serving us (at least one of which I understand is also the owner) were just completely lovely, treating us like friends the second we walked through the door. They chatted away with us about our music tastes, joked about our mutual love for cheese, and just really took the time to explain anything and everything about the food and the wine. Me and my boyfriend live in the area, and had walked past this place a million times since we moved to Copenhagen. It looks incredibly intimate from the outside, like you are peeking into somebody's living room, where they happen to be hosting an elaborate dinner party. We always talked about checking it out, but were too intimidated to just walk in and ask for a reservation. I wasn't even completely sure it was a restaurant - it only has about 10 tables, so I thought it might be a venue for private events or reserved for visitors of the art gallery next door. With our anniversary coming up, I suggested we finally go for it and booked a table online. And I am so glad we did! Aside from the service, the food is exquisite and the wine pairings great. What I liked was that the wines were all very unique; the tastes were exotic but at the same time went incredibly well with the food we were eating. The food itself was amazing... I won't go into detail about what we ate, as the menu changes depending on the art collection currently on display (as does the decor!) but I'll say it was very creative while simultaneously being so satisfying. Definitely worth a visit, for a special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself to a lovely night out in Copenhagen.

Yelp
We must have been lucky because we walked right in to this place without a booking. We had no idea how lucky we were...from my post eating research, this place is in the top 5 (non professional reviewers in Copenhagen. #1 on Tr!pAdvi$or. It has a somewhat casual atmosphere but the food is far from causal. The chef's (two in total) are very enthusiastic about their dishes. The explanation of my main dish was no less than 5 minutes. 5 mins is a long time when 95% of the words are ingredients and preparation. They do not rush you and the food was great. I enjoy restaurants that offer smaller menu's and this one has a limited menu. The menu appears to vary depending on the season and mode (oh and art on the walls) of the chefs. All the dishes (our table order 3 of the 4 main offered) were very good. The enthusiasm of the chefs might not be for everyone but if you are a casual "foodie" and enjoy knowing exactly how your meal was prepared then you will love this place.

Yelp
In a word. Fantastic! We were a party of four and chose the recommended sampling with wine pairing. Each sample was better than the previous one. Mats, the owner, was gregarious and willing to explain each course in detail. If you really like to know what you are eating, how it is prepared, and why each wine is selected for each sampling then this is the place for you.

Yelp
Decided to treat the family to a really nice meal before our Nordic cruise and this was a great choice. Pricey, because we went for the 5 course prefix with matching wines, but a great experience. The owners are super friendly and justifiably proud of their creations, which added to our enjoyment. Only regret was that we had no room for dessert.

Yelp
Amazing staff that greeted and accommodated us superbly. The food was absolutely delicious. I don't think many places are 5 star worthy but this restaurant is just exceptional. It is a must visit in Copenhagen!

Yelp
The staff and food was simply outstanding! Probably my favorite restaurant I've ever been to. I will be recommending this place to anyone I know going to the area. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
What a wonderful dining experience! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the owner and we decided on doing the tasting menu with paired wines. Every course was amazing and the explanations and enthusiasm that came with each dish was wonderful. So glad we dined here while in Denmark.

Yelp
Great hidden gem in Copenhagen's food scene. Dinner, wine, and service were all fantastic.

Yelp
Easily the best experience I've had. We were greeted by the owners, had amazing wine pairs with the best food I've eaten. Nearly everything was personalized. Will go back to Copenhagen just for to eat here again

Yelp
Don't let the lack of reviews fool you on this restaurant. With only 9 tables, it's a small great with big flavor. The owner of the restaurant is one of two staff on the floor, and he really adds to the experience. I had the moussaka as an appetizer, the lamb for dinner, and creme caramel for dessert. Of course all of this with a wine pairing. Everything was perfect. Every wine was such a perfect match to the dishes, and this is probably because the owner personally goes and selects the wines once they create their new menu. Everything from start to finish made this a perfect night, and I know I'll be back to Krebgaarden to eat and to see Mats the owner.

Yelp
This place is incredible. The food was amazing and the service was amazing. The chefs are very engaging and friendly; they love talking to their customers and made the experience even better. It's really awesome how they switch up the menu every month; it makes me wish the restaurant was in NY because I'd definitely be coming back to see what other awesome meals these chefs create.

Yelp
Couldn't rave enough about this restaurant. The food, the wine, the staff, the atmosphere. I ate at over 10 of the "top" Copenhagen restaurants these 2 weeks and this was hands down the best. A must eat in CPH. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Had a 5-course wine menu. Not impressed. The 2nd & 3rd courses (fish and meat) were OK but the others were a waste of time. Service was irritating - condescending chefs who seemed to think they were doing us a favor by allowing us to eat there. No idea what it cost (someone else paid, luckily) but I wouldn't go again.
