Krista Hotel, Palermo Soho, Buenos Aires, Argentina - Explore & Book

"In the bewildering proliferation of ‘boutique’ hotels flooding Palermo, Krista is the real thing. During its first incarnation – in the Palermo Hollywood residence of Perón’s doctor – we loved staying here, and so did our guests. It has since moved lock, stock and barrel to a minimalist nest in the nearby neighbourhood of Palermo Soho. No fuss or flashy sign, just slip through the entrance and find a sleek respite from the buzz of Buenos Aires in beautifully calming, modernist interiors. Inside is a hall flooded with light, bright white walls adorned with wooden strips, and black and white granite floors illuminated by exquisite windows. On our recent visit, Krista was a welcome invitation to relax in a quiet sanctuary. Owner and interior designer Cristina has a perfectionist’s eye for detail, and matches a flair for colour and textiles with respect for the building's urban surrounds. The effect is privacy and space, in 37 calmly decorated bedrooms which are minimalist, airy and light. It’s hard to believe that you're right in the beating heart of Palermo's fine restaurants, chic shops and buzzing bars. Highs You'll find tranquility and calm in the midst of Buenos Aires' most exciting area – Palermo Soho is in the midst of the action for shopping and eating This is grown-up, understated cool yet it doesn't feel pretentious, nor is the atmopshere stiff Rooms have very comfortable beds and lovely linen Extremely good value for money Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, plus speak excellent English Lows This is a new building, so we were half expecting some snagging issues when we visited, but our stay went flawlessly The main doors are locked between 10pm and 7am, so night owls need to buzz for entry and wait for staff to let you in The closest underground (Subte) station is a 25-minute walk, but taxis are readily available" - Jenna Woollon

Overpriced for what you get. Again a place that looks very stylish on internet but does not live up to the expectations. |Although it was spring/lowseason I understand the pool is not fully open, but it looked totally neglected. The way it looked I wouldn’t even let my dog swim in it. FYI The Coffee bar attached to the hotel is out of business. ||The most annoying thing is that they have made their own rules considering the tourist tax (not) to be paid by foreigners. I have been travelling for years in argentina and this is the only place they have come up with so many ridiculous rules that you end up paying full fare. You want to avoid tax, you have to pay with creditcard and in dollars. You want to pay cash, you get 10% discount, but you have to pay in dollars and still pay taxes. You want to pay in pesos, you have to pay tax and there’s no discount etc etc etc . Total scam. |The gave in eventually and told me they would get back to me, but they never did. Tried to contact via booking, no reply.|Would have been fine for 50US per night, but in this case a total deception for our stay in BA.

The Krista Boutique hotel has good sized clean rooms, with decent showers. It’s lost that Boutique charm and is looking a bit frayed around the edges, from the dodgy door button at the entrance, to the non-existent restaurant and breakfast room, and a dilapidated pool area, something has been lost in translation between the web site sales image and the actual hotel. Breakfasts are consigned to a cafe around the block with regimented set menus, and pressurised tipping for any additional puchases. |Utilitarian soap bars replace artisan soap dispensers, long since emptied. And wire chairs, minus tables and seat pads replace comfortable images of relaxing balcony scenes. |Clean and comfortable, with easy access to Palermo bars and restaurants, and a sundowner drink before 20:00, vestige of a boutique service, remain. But it lacks any boutique charm and service 9 times out of 10, sadly absent as Reception staff are immersed in screens and phones. Avoid.

My American daughter, studying abroad, left her passport and cash in the safe at this hotel. All of it was meticulously safeguarded and returned to her after they contacted us to connect! She and my son gave the hotel top ratings for comfort, service, and location. Highly recommended!

Nice location, very poor client service. We booked for 5days and needed to change rooms ourselves. Hotel restaurant was under construction with lot off noise. Rooms not clean. Bad value/money

Service is bad, had a lady in the sauna yelling at me for closing the door. Mind you this door was closed the entire time before I arrived I left it how I found it. The real problem though is the construction, being woken up to this at 9am is a joke. I have jet lag and need to sleep it off and can’t get any sleep. No warning do not come.

Nice hotel in Palermo. Lots of restaurants/bars in walking distance. Staff was excellent!! They were very forgiving of my poor Spanish! The cafe attached to the hotel was perfect. We were here for four nights. It's a very quiet neighborhood. Uber works to go to other places in the city.

I booked this property for a business trip and booked rooms for my entire traveling party. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. Alejandro was especially helpful during the booking and payment process. The rooms were pretty quiet and walkable. There is a restaurant on premise and it is within walking distance of many other bars and restaurants.I recommend this property for anyone looking to stay in the Palermo SoHo neighborhood.

Yelp
Bad hospitality. I tried to book a room online at 11 pm for the following night. I accidentally booked it for the same night. When i arrived at the hotel in the morning they told me I was booked for the previous evening. Then they said I had to book another night and would not let me check in until 3 pm. They told me the reservation person would straighten everything out but they refused to refund me for the first night even though it was obviously an accidental booking at 11 pm. Don't stay here.

Yelp
My bag was stolen when the front desk was supposed to be watching it when I was getting lunch after checkout. The security cameras don't actually work so they couldn't pull any footage and the hotel said they couldn't do anything for me because they had "no proof" my bag was stolen. I'm really unhappy with how the hotel decided to handle this - it's incredibly unprofessional. Plenty of good places to stay in Palermo soho - don't go here

Yelp
My friends and I had an excellent stay at the Krista! We rented a quad and it was great to have the space. The staff was very helpful when arranging taxis to and from a futbal match in a dodgy part of town. Carolina was friendly and thorough when helping us plan any activities and Alex was also very kind. Would cook eggs upon request at breakfast. Hotel was formerly a home. Cute garden out back and lovely common areas. Excellent part of Palermo. Easily walkable to restaurants, shops, and bars.
