"Avant garde perfumer and artist Andrea Maack has made it her mission to visit Iceland’s most remote watering holes, embracing the precarious journey along the way. “For a memorable experience, Krossnesllaug in the West is hands down the best,” she says. “Just the dive down to the actual pool is quite scary. I got stuck there a few times, but it’s an experience in itself. It’s not a fancy spot, but so otherworldly,” she says."

A swimming pool with warm water, two small hot tubs (though without bubbles), and a view of the ocean in the remote end of Iceland. It's located next to road 643 and about 30 km from Djúpavík. The road (70 km) is very difficult to drive on and consists only of a dirt track with potholes, so you need at least a 4x4. I would also personally not take this road in bad weather or snow. You can barely fit a car on this road, which runs between the mountains and the ravine. The pool area itself is well-equipped for changing, located in a well-maintained and heated building with clean toilets and showers that have hot water and body soap. Men and women have their own separate sections. After the mandatory shower, you step out of the building and, in just a few steps, you are in the water with a view of the ocean. The cost is 1000 isk and you can pay by card or cash.

Beautiful pool in a natural setting. This is the northernmost I've been to the east of the Westfjords. Amazing location with the ocean view right in front of you. Just 335 km away from Reykjavík! Worth the trip.

Unique experience to enjoy entering a warm clean little swimming pool by the seashore..the most northern in Iceland I believe. We were there today Sept. 23rd 24 in a beautiful chilly sunny day with clear skies and no wind at all ❤️

This location was one of the best experiences of my Iceland Adventure. I arrived late in the evening. Make sure you go around to the beach side to get checked in, pay the very reasonable price, and enjoy! As Jimmy Buffet once wrote "Ran into a chum with a bottle of Rum and wound up drinking all night." A lively local group arrived just about sunset, or 12:58am, and had an extra beer or two so I stuck around and experienced the great Icelandic culture thanks to the hospitality of the FarmersDóttir that kept an eye on the place. It is a family oriented pool great for relaxing, with excellent temperatures to enjoy the midnight sun and even take a cold plunge in the North Atlantic. If you can handle the 2 hour drive in on rough roads, it is well worth the trip. With my inner Viking awake after the long soak, I was ready to continue my adventure throughout Iceland and this remains one of my favorite spots.

Absolutely great! A nice pool with hot tubs on the pebble beach just near the ocean, under a cliff, late at night, in a dense fog (or was it a cloud?) No staff, just the card reader and handwritten instructions how to pay. An indescribable sensation of an incredible combination of warm water, cold rain, the sound of the surf, darkness, fog, and complete isolation from the world.

Lovely swimming pool at the very end of the world. There are showers, toilets, the swimming pool and two hot pots. The water has a good temperature and we had the whole place for ourselves. Admission fee is 1000kr per person which is absolutely okay considering that it's all well tended and clean. The payment is made on honorary basis via card terminal. The road to get there isn't suitable for normal vehicles, I recommend a 4x4.

One of the best swimming pools in Iceland! Road leading to this place is for 4x4 and for tough guys only. But when you get there... Basic, but nice changing rooms and showers. Great blue water in the outside swimming pool and jacuzzi, both with the view to ocean. You can pay with cash (to the box) or bank transfer.

Lovely swimming pool warmed by mother earth! The bath is now open for the third day this season and has been cleaned today. The hottub is slightly warmer than the main pool. We enjoyed the view over sea and the warmth of the water. There are hot showers and toilets, ladies and gentlemen separated. Everything was very clean! Pleasant place to recover from an impressive drive on a dirt road. It is a good road for 2-WD as well. Entrance for the pool in 2023 is 1000 ISK.
