Kruger View Backpackers

We stayed for one night in the hostel so we could go to Kruger the next morning. The girl at the reception was very nice. The rooms look nice except for our room which was downstairs, but this was probably the only twin option. Why the low rating? We just didn't really feel welcome. We felt like intruders in a family house. There is no central place to sit comfortably inside. There is a nice lounge area, but the owners of the hostel are laying (and sleeping) all the time on the couch so we felt reluctant to sit there as well. Tv is on all day. We could see that the current (we think new) owners don't do much with the place, which is a pity since it has great potential.

Kruger View is a great place to stop on your travels to Kruger Park or Mozambique. Friendly & helpful staff, good facilities, nice kitty, & of course the view of Kruger Park! Very safe. Good rates. Easy to find. Definitely worth a re-visit. ♡

I walked across the border from mozambiqe and this was the first place I found. Well, I was surprised and impressed. The view, as the name suggests is of Kruger, which is incredible. As you sleep you can hear hyenas and hippos, and you can see Impala from the deck. The building is interesting and the owners are very helpful with your travels. They even drove me into town and helped me find a bus to Swaziland. The dorm, however, gets a bit hot at night.

Cozy cabins and helpful staff - Kruger View is your one-stop, low budget sleepover before entering Mozambique. Rooms are tidy. Communal area includes fridge and freezer, with gas stove. Very comfortable, affordable and functional.

Martin, the manager, is the most charming and kindest person. The place is in a wonderful location, the building has got a charm out of common.||Unluckily, the service and staff is very insufficient and not enough trained. The whole building: kitchen, rooms and living room needs a deep and detailed cleaning together with a better organisation of the space. Our room was lovely but too wet. The general impression is of a mess. But it has many possibilities.||

I was looking for budget option to visit Kruger and well majority of options weren't budget. If you want just to have a decent sleep this is a good place, they offer good safari options at reasonable price and accommodation is also fine. The owners are helpful and flexible - was there for a weekend only and this was the only place I didn't have to pay in advance in SA.

Even 4 weeks after spending a single night at Kruger View I am still disgusted by this place. First of all, this place was full of dogs. We're definitely people who love dogs, don't get me wrong, but if you can't walk through the kitchen and breakfast area because the entire floor is full of poo and pee...excuse me, than something is very much wrong! How is someone supposed to eat there? Then the owners sleep on the couch right next to the breakfast area. So, you feel like you're invading their privacy, which is ridicules because I am a paying customer or am I not?||||Further to this, the rates are way too high for a backpacker. We ran out of there the very next morning and found another place, way better.

Spent a night here on our way to Mozambique. The place is nice, rooms are clean, staff are kinda friendly and the view into the Kruger from the viewing deck is spectacular. Would definitely stay here again.
