I actually cannot say enough good things about this place. Best common areas EVER, and insanely relaxing. I’ve always been nervous of onsens for some reason, but having one on property in the hostel made me comfortable enough to try out both of them. It was an insanely rejuvenating and relaxing experience. I just really wish I had spent 3 nights here instead of just 2, this is one of those places that just stands out in my mind from my travels. Staff was extra nice, and this place attracts nice travelers. You won’t regret staying here!

The amenities of this place are good but don,t justify the picky and stingy owners. - you Pay around 90€ to sleep in a box and Take a bath in the evening because you are not allowed to do anything else. - the hostel is maintained by not paid volunteers. Not exactly. They get paid 2euros per Day for 4 hours of cleaning works. 🫣 . ( paid with peanuts ) - the onsen its closed in the morning ( they dont want you around ). Seems that is the place where volunteers eat their peanuts durante the morning - the outside terraced are límited for a couple of hours. But you can see the volunteers using them everyday for their sparing - you have to stay at least 2 days. ( i dont understand this stingy rule ). Maybe we give too much work to the volunteers. So, they earn about 500euros/Day per shared room managed by not paid workers and they Still suggest you to voluntary pay for the instant Coffee, what is the only thing that they offer for free. See pictures those justify my comment. Again, the amenities are good but the way thst the owners manage this place its quite abusive.

This is a wonderful hostel with an indoor and outdoor Onsen. It has a lovely living area and a well kitted out kitchen with free tea and coffee. The staff are all very welcoming and very helpful. My two teenage girls loved staying here.Just to note, it is an uphill walk from the train station. There is a bus but it is not very frequent.

K’s House Hakone is a clean and relaxing place to stay, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. It’s located a bit further up the hill, so taking a cab the first time is a good idea—once you get familiar with the route, it’s easy to manage. The peaceful setting and traditional feel make it a great spot to enjoy everything Hakone has to offer.

The dormitory can feel congested although they are well designed but a room accommodates 6 ppl and a couple. The staff is helpful however the onsens are only open from the afternoon till late night which was a bit disappointing. I have been to their property in Ito and compared to that the experience was average. Bus access is available in case you are traveling with luggage or do not wish to walk as the place is a bit far from the station.

Such a beautiful, relaxing place. I wished I stayed here for another day. It’s about 20 minute walk from the train station. The staff here were really helpful and nice. Thank you so much Quynh, Meli, and Fish for your help and kindness!

Lovely clean and comfortable hostel with onsen in the property. The rooms are a good size and the beds have a privacy curtain and a small place to store valuables. The common areas are open 24/7 to use the kitchen or chill out downstairs and the onsen are open until 1am so you can enjoy a nice relaxing soak before bed. And only a 15 minute walk from the station, or you can get the K line bus up/down. I liked everything about this place

I highly recommend this hostel. It's clean and has two onsen inside the hostel both inside and the outdoor one. About 15 min walk to town or you can take the bus. There is a kitchen where you can cook your own food. The staff are very friendly and informative.

Yelp
This place is sparkling clean. Quiet, everyone mind their own business. I booked it through booking online for $37. Not to mention you get free Osen I was expecting a lot of foreigners but most guests are Japanese.

Yelp
Stay here if you're going to hakone. They have both private rooms (for ~$100 a night) and "capsule" like bunks in a mixed dormitory style room (for ~$20-30 a night). You can use their onsen for 150 yen which is literally $1. They have both outdoors and indoor onsens (open 4pm to 2am) which are separated by women and men at different times (example: only women can use outdoor onsen 4-8pm, while men use the indoor onsen. From 8:30-2am, only men can use the outdoor onsen and women can use the indoor onsen. This could change). I stayed in the dormitory style room, it had space in the room for everyone to put their luggage in. My bed bunk was very spacious !! They have shower rooms and bathrooms on the same floor. I only paid ~$25 to stay here (from booking.com) but I had the best time because of the warm hospitality of the staff members there. They looked like a mom and daughter and are so so sweet. They have laundry machines you can use for 500 yen. They even have a kitchen everyone can use with all the utilities, cutlery, plates/bowls, you could borrow, and free coffee in the morning! They also have a nice common room to relax. I folded my laundry there lol. Also, there's a bus stop only a 2 minute walk downhill away that can take you to Hakone Yumoto station, which you can then hop on another bus to transfer to Odawara station, and hop on the bullet train to go anywhere else again. I had 2 really heavy luggage's with me traveling alone so this close by bus stop really helped me. Advice: bring earplugs if you're staying in the dormitory style room in case people snore. Bring an adapter for extra plugs. They have shampoo conditioner and body wash already for you to use. Getting here is a little hard/confusing if you don't know Japanese because hakone is all busses and it's confusing especially at night... I took a cab for $40 to get here and I saw a lot of going uphill and winding roads. There's no way I could have walked alone with my 2 heavy suitcases. Anyways! This place is great, stay here!!
