I am a "senior (over 70), solo, budget traveler" and I really enjoyed my stay here.|Reminder this is a "Lodge" and not a "Hotel" so don't go expecting "fluffy white towels, free bottled water, complimentary toiletries, tea & coffee options or a breakfast room"! I had a room on 1st floor (there is no Lift) which was quiet and smoke-free.|The Reception is available 24/7 and has a myriad of fascinating antiques and curios to peruse. I found the young Gabriella incredibly helpful with activity and food suggestions and with assisting me with transport needs ( I don't have Internet to access Grab transport).|To me, it's all about LOCATION, right opposite the waterfront where every night is a full-on food, music and light show. Strolling along the promenade was my nightly indulgence, but I could also use either of the balconies at the lodge to sit and peruse the activities if I was tired or there was a 'down-pour'.|Immediately next door is a 7/11 which is open 24/7 for hot & cold food and drink options. I went down every morning for my first coffee (cost 3.50RM which is less than $1.50 AUS). For my daily breakfast, I went to RAW Juicery @ The Ranee Hotel (5 doors down heading to left from the Lodge) for fresh juice, Acai Bowl and coffee. They are a Vegan Restaurant offering Brunch & Diner options. They open at 7am.|The Ranee Hotel itself offers bookings for Tours and Attractions.|The Lodge is very close to the Information Centre (walk left) and is a short stroll away from Chinatown (Harmony Walk) and India Street and a large shopping mall.|Indulged in massage from the Blind Massage Centre on 2nd floor of this mall and had my Hair washed (40RM) and Nails done !|Can't recommend this accommodation enough and felt it was good value for money.|If you want 'luxuries' though, go elsewhere and pay for it !
