"Renowned as a top location for observing wild elephant herds, visitors report seeing as many as 15 elephants in a single trip. The main wildlife observation area is at Huai Luek Ranger Station, located about 10 miles north of the park headquarters. To explore beyond this area, you must arrange for a safari guide through the main office or book a tour in advance. Note that safari vehicles only allow six foreigners each." - Stacey Wreathall Stacey Wreathall Stacey Wreathall is a freelance writer and Thailand travel expert. We stayed at Vana Varin, and the receptionist there helped us find the taxi driver that drove us to the national park and waited about 3 hours for us, while we took the Safari, and drove us back to the hotel, except we asked him to recommend a restaurant for him to leave us at instead.. this service cost baht 2600. Tickets to enter the national park were baht 200 p/person, and we had to pay an additional baht 850 for one of their vehicles with driver, plus a guide. We also hired a pair of binoculars for baht 50. This was a memorable experience, as we sat in the back of an open vehicle and drove through vast amounts of forest looking for elephants.. apparently there are around 300 elephants in the national park. We were so lucky to see 11 elephants, and they are roaming 100% freely.. we were not even permitted to stand downwind from the elephants and had to keep our distance. The setting was stunning. Our guide was friendly.

Kui Buri National Park is a hidden gem, offering a peaceful retreat into nature. The park is known for its rich wildlife, including elephants, deer, and various bird species. It’s a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers, with guided tours available to explore the park’s diverse landscapes. The serene atmosphere and scenic views of the surrounding mountains and forests make it an ideal place to escape the crowds. If you’re lucky, you might even spot elephants up close, making it a truly special experience.

The actual highlight of our Thailand trip! We had such an amazing afternoon. We booked a taxi that waited there for us and arranged the tour at the visitor centre. We were super lucky with our guides, Mr.Thanasit Phiboonwatthanakorn and Na, who did their very best to help us spot and see the elephants. We saw so many elephants and gaurs, we were there late in the afternoon (15:15) until closing time. We love that we did not feel rushed, the park is super ethical for the Elephants, the guides spoke enough english to explain things to us and Mr.Thanasit Phiboonwatthanakorn even took his own telescope and provided us with a perfect view over the elephant groups. Even though there are many (unethical) places where you can see the elephants really close, for us it was amazing to see their natural behaviour; playing, mating, eating and being in their groups.

Amazing place where watch wild elephants. Beautiful area, from the entrance you can hear birds singing. Great to find a place where these amazing animals are not exploited and we can watch them in natural conditions🐘❤️

We enjoy a lot this place because it’s not crowded if you stay and sleep in the National park But you need to know guide are not really very good in English but it’s ok and elephant can be hard to find we only see one at the end so we are a little lucky, we hoped we could see more but it’s nature… (And it’s explain elephant come after 5 or 6pm because it’s too hot but the park close at 6… or 5 I don’t remember

Generally a great Park! Unfortunately the only way to visit is be getting driven around on the truck bed of a pickup with a guide. Also it is not impossible but pretty hard to get to the park if you do not have your own vehicle. Even Taxis are hard to get. Other than that I can recommend going there to see some wild elephants.

Not too far from Hua Hin town centre. You cannot walk around and only option is being driven around. We were lucky enough to find the elephants. Amazing experience.
