We had a great lunch at Kuka Café in Hazyview. It’s located right at the corner of the R40 and R536, in a little complex with other restaurants and shops that seem to be part of the same group. There’s plenty of parking, and while we were eating, someone hand-washed our car for a very reasonable price – and they did a great job too.
The food was fresh and tasty, with a nice selection of dishes featuring fish and rice. What really stood out was the gluten-free options – even the pizzas! That’s quite rare to find in South Africa and made a big difference for our family. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was relaxed but efficient.
There’s seating both inside and outside. We chose the terrace, which has plenty of shade. The only small downside is the traffic noise from the nearby road, especially when loud cars pass by, but it didn’t ruin the experience.
All in all, definitely worth a visit if you're gluten free.
