I really did not enjoy my stay here 2 weeks ago. So much that I decided to leave a day early. The hotel is not in a pretty part of town, it's very run down actually. It is walkable from the city center. The room was fine, had good a/c, but somehow mosquitos kept entering the room and I was getting bit a lot. The shower was terrible with cool water and no pressure.

I really wanted to like this hotel, the staff is very nice and try their best, but not having hot water in our room for two days was a bit much. Hotel has a great bohemian vibe, but the rooms have very few places to put clothes or space in the bathroom for toiletries. Maybe it was just our particular room, but some small changes could go a long way

The Hotel Kuka y Naranjo is the worst hotel I have stayed in during more than 20 years of traveling. Location: The area is ugly and feels unsafe. Room: We stayed in the so-called “La mejorada” room, but there was nothing upgraded about it. Everything was old, poorly kept, and run down. Noise: Every time someone in the hotel turned on a water tap, a deafening noise came through. We had to listen to this during all 4 nights of our stay. Services: One night the power went out, and we had to sleep without air conditioning in 34-degree heat. It was unbearable. Reception: The receptionist, Edgar, was always defensive. He offered us a 20% discount for one night, but we couldn’t claim it because we checked out early and the reception hours are very limited (they open late and close early). Parking: The parking is terrible. Once we had to take the keys ourselves from reception because no staff was there. Pool: The pool is dirty and not well maintained. Value for money: The hotel is very expensive for what it offers. In short, I do not recommend this hotel at all. There are many better options in the area for the same price or even less.

I like what they are trying to do, but the actual scenario is a bit different. The images used in the publications have been edited to improve the lighting and get a different vibe. Not to mar the hotel, it is okay for individuals and backpackers wanting to get a really local vibe. For families, they would have to look elsewhere. I did not stay just because I had more demands for my family, but had a real good look at the rooms and environment. For the very brief service, the first lady staff was welcoming but the other older guy looked a bit agitated because I was about to cancel after having a look around.

I spent 3 nights and I really enjoyed the room. Nothing extraordinary but the details make the difference, maintaining a boho Mexican vibe that I truly love. Clean and super welcoming. The workers were really nice and helpful.

Our vacation, 7 days, at Kuka y Naranjo surpassed my expectations! The staff was extremely helpful and made my daughter’s 18th birthday extra special. They assisted us arranging our tour packages and even had to-go breakfasts for us. The rooms were clean and the common areas very inviting! Try the Kombucharia especially the Pan Paak and the dragon fruit kombucha. The pool was refreshing after a long day sighting-seeing and the patios peaceful! Would highly recommend and would love to return!

Absolutely LOVED this place!!!! What a wonderful artistic boutique hotel! If you are looking for something different and special, this is your place. Luxury comes in many forms. The owners have been REALLY helpful, even arranged a driver with a van for our group for cenote hopping. Rooms are small but beautifully arranged and comfortable. Common spaces are gorgeous. Breakfast eggs individually made. Central location. Restaurant suggestions by the hotel were all delicious. Thank you so much, I hope we can come back some time!

Very nice hotel at a walking distance to downtown Merida. From the outside, you don't see the cosiness of the place (dirty and busy street). We stayed two nights and we had a room on the ground floor. The room is small but beautifully decorated. The personal is extremely nice and helpful! Breakfast is very good. We had dinner at the vegan restaurant that belongs to the hotel and it was delicious! We warmly recommend this little oasis in the middle of Mérida!
