Kukbingwan

One of the best KBBQ i’ve had, really good vibes and atmosphere and the quality of not just the meat, but the sides are great. Have recommended this spot to many friends already and they’ve all enjoyed it.

We stumbled onto Kukbingwan (국빈관) after visiting Gwanghwamun and the National Palace Museum of Korea. Excellent cuts of beef grilled over the blazing heat of old fashioned yeontan (연탄), and the stew (with cow's blood - don't knock it till you've tried it) really hit the spot. Just keep your eyes peeled for the sign when you visit - it's in a hidden side alley off the main, well, alley.

Had Hanwoo beef on our second night in Korea near the palace. Absolutely incredible! The meat literally melts in your mouth. Great quality and a memorable experience!

I had a very disappointing experience at Tongui-dong Gukbin-gwan (통의동 국빈관) on February 22, 2026 at around 5:00 PM. We had a confirmed reservation, and when we arrived there were no other customers in the restaurant. Despite this, the front desk staff was extremely rude and visibly impatient from the beginning. The attitude was dismissive and hostile. We were repeatedly spoken to in a condescending and humiliating manner during what should have been a simple check-in process. We attempted to communicate and resolve the situation calmly, but the staff continued to behave unprofessionally. After multiple unpleasant exchanges and no effort from the restaurant to address the issue, we ultimately decided to leave without dining. For a restaurant that positions itself as a premium Korean beef establishment, the service was shockingly unacceptable. Regardless of food quality, basic courtesy and respect toward customers should be the minimum standard. I cannot recommend this place based on this experience.

Beef is very fresh and delicious. Quick serving in under 5 minutes. The noodle is the best with spicy flavor. Chinese menu is offered to help ordering. Minimum one beef per person is communicated beforehand.
