The hotel is located in the old town of Ulcinj, right at the edge of the castle. The view is absolutely breathtaking! Waking up to the Adriatic Sea right outside your window is an unforgettable experience. Just a heads-up: to reach the hotel, you’ll need to climb a 100-150 meter uphill path with stairs. It’s not ideal for people with mobility issues or wheelchair users. We stayed on the upper floor. The room was clean, well-organized, and had everything we needed: a small fridge, kettle, TV, nightstands, and a wardrobe. The bathroom was sufficient, but there was no hair dryer - I think that’s something they could add. The terrace had a table, chairs, and a comfy swinging chair where you can relax and enjoy the view. Wi-Fi worked well in the room, but the signal was weak on the terrace. In the restaurant area, there was no signal at all. So if you plan to work remotely or spend time on your laptop, that’s something to keep in mind. Breakfast was tasty and varied. For dinner, I tried the pizza at the hotel’s restaurant, but I wasn’t too impressed. The menu also includes soup, salad, risotto, meat, and fish options. On average, dinner costs around €15 per person. Drinks - whether hot, cold, or alcoholic - range from €5 to €10 depending on your choice. The hotel is run by an Albanian couple who are genuinely sweet and warm-hearted. The staff were also friendly and helpful. You can communicate easily in English, Albanian, French, Bosnian, Serbian, and Croatian. Rooms are cleaned daily, and fresh towels are provided. Laundry service is also available. There’s also a small restaurant located on the edge of the castle with a sea view - it’s a perfect spot to have a drink and enjoy the scenery. All in all, it was a peaceful, historic, and heartfelt experience. There are a few small things that could be improved, but overall, I was very satisfied. Big thanks to the lovely couple who run the place and greeted us with a smile every day, the friendly lady who kept our room clean, and the kind waitstaff. We truly appreciate everything! 🙏🏻♥️

Very nice hotel. Best location in Ulcinj old town. Staff so friendly, all the time doing their best for quests. Breakfast served to the table, all fresh ingredients. Highly recommend!

Worst restaurant that I’ve been in. Waiter was super friendly and polite, but food was terrible. We ordered fish, steak, pasta etc. none of us could finish the food. Terrible. Also the boss was yelling at the waiters in front of us, super creepy guy.

Tourist scam, 20 euros for 4 coffees, old milk… I do not recommend that

Breathtaking views, impeccable service, spacious rooms with great air-conditioning. We are family of two adults and three teenagers and we absolutely loved it! We came at the end of low season in June, which I would recommend. You could tell that high season is probably very busy and in town it’s probably gets pretty loud. But the hotel is situated on the rock outside of town so it is probably quiet even in the high season.

Loved our stay at Kulla e Balshajve! Dzenita was amazing and very helpful even before our trip she was willing to help us with whatever questions we had! They had the best snacks (I ate peaches everyday) you can grab them as you go. The location is dreamy and they have a beautiful perfect terrace. They help with suggestions about parking, they helped with the luggages when we checked in and checked out. Can’t wait to come back hopefully soon! ❤️❤️

Review regarding the restaurant: Set in a picturesque area, this place has a nice ambiance with an Adriatic vibe and traditional music. They provide live musicians sometimes. We had the best tasty pizza ever! Pizzaiolo is making pizza in the custom pizza oven right infront of you, the dough is just amazing. Caprese salad came with moist mozzarella buffala and it was so delightful. The owner is very friendly and treated us with a couple of grappa drinks. Thank you for your hospitality. We will be back.
