As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of working at many venues, but shooting at Kum Koon Garden was an experience I won’t forget. Not only does the restaurant offer incredible, authentic Chinese cuisine, but the ambiance made capturing beautiful moments feel extra special. The food—crispy spring rolls, savory Peking duck, and so much more—was a highlight of the day for both the couple and guests.
It’s rare to find a place that offers such a warm and inviting atmosphere, paired with top-notch, traditional flavors. The staff were incredibly accommodating, making sure everything ran smoothly while offering friendly service. If you’re looking for a place to host your wedding or simply enjoy an authentic Chinese meal, Kum Koon Garden is a must!

First time trying this place and I was impressed.
I loved the cart service. It was very nostalgic as not a lot places do that anymore.
The food was good for the price point.
The Siu Mai was great and also the Har Gow and Sticky Rice and the rest was just ok. I really enjoyed the Tau Foo Fah with the sugar and almost syrup combined.
Overall, I’d enjoyed the food and the service.
Will come back again for sure.

Expensive and appalling. We had a table of 15 and each dish was so small, everyone barely got a serving. The food was overloaded with MSG and was super salty. The fried shrimp balls cost $10 a piece and were so incredibly salty that they were inedible (we had 15 people so this dish alone was $150!!) The fried rice was oily and overly salty. The spare ribs were too sweet but also overly salty. It takes skill to mess it up that badly. The staff are not friendly at all, especially the guy at the front, who wasn't even at the front. The waitress was also rude and completely clueless. We asked her from a small bowl of white rice and she completely ignored us. The quality of this place has gone way down. It's a wonder they are still in business. Not only was the food not good, it was also super expensive. One of the worst meals I've ever had. I would never recommend anyone come here.

Lived in bay area all my life. The asian food here was better than most dishes in california. Yes, in winnipeg, canada, the Vietnamese dish was so good.

It was our first time there. We ordered the dishes that were popular from the reviews. The baked BBQ pork buns were ever so fresh. The bun itself was homemade and reminded me what grandmas used to make. You get 3 buns per order.
We particularly went there for the dim sum and it certainly didn’t disappoint! We ordered the steamed pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings and shrimp/scallop dumplings. Again, the dishes were fresh and piping hot.
The Vietnamese rolls were good and the sauce added a nice flavour.
We went for supper on a Saturday night about 5:30. The service was fast.
Little disappointed that there weren’t any coconut donuts available but it’s a good reason to go back again!

Enjoyed the authentic dim sums that we ordered. Service was very quick. I loved the beef rice noodles that I was craving for a long time!!! Will return!

Went here with a family of 4 plus our 18 month old. The manager was extremely helpful to get us Gluten Free items for Dim Sum even though it's a Chinese restaurant. The manager went and ordered, and delivered us specific Dim Sum options. The service was fantastic!!!

Probably the best place for dim sum in Winnipeg. We got curry squid, bbq porc bun, beef rice rolls, shrimp fried dumpling, chicken feet, sesame balls and more there’s a lot more options and it’s way better than the other one in Chinatown we’ve tried them all. Fast service and fair price. Recommended for dim sum !
