Before I start this unfortunate review, I would like to make clear that I am a yoga teacher myself and this was not my first time practicing kundalini.
First off, I hate the carpet. WHY is there carpet in a yoga studio? That is so unsanitary, as people walk with their bare feet on the ground.
Also, the teachers here really do NOT know what they are doing. I went to two classes and it was enough to make me never want to go back. The first teacher messed up cat cow, and reversed them over and over again. Sorry, that is SUCH a fundamental basic pose that one should NOT be messing up cat cow. It really bothered me. Students deserve better than this. As kind as the woman was, she just really did not seem to know her sh*t.
The next teacher I went to completely makes the first teacher I had there seem like a genius. This teacher (I think) was a sub that I could BARELY hear (so I'm not even sure if she was a sub, or maybe her name was Sub? Whatever). She was also completely disengaged with the practice, and seemed like she had no idea what she was doing herself. I could TELL students were uncomfortable, just the way they moved. She would barely speak, and give only one to two word directions. She sat at the front of the room and stared straight ahead, refusing to make eye contact and refusing to speak louder, even when students started craning their neck to look forward while we were lying on the ground. Shouldn't that be indicative that we need more guidance? It was pathetic. Then while we were dangling in a forward fold, she literally just said, "Now sing." I'm sorry, sing what? I love kundalini yoga, but the way she gave us directions were so poor and it was so obvious she would much rather have been elsewhere. It was the worst yoga experience I ever had, and it is SUCH a shame that these people are teaching there. Please up the caliber there because it is just so unfortunate and I am embarrassed that they are even certified.
Needless to say, I will NOT be going back here.
