8 beautiful places to explore in Stockholm - SilverKris

"Situated just across the water from the Royal Palace in central Stockholm, this central park is famous for an avenue of white and pink cherry trees that burst into blossom from early April. It hosts almost-daily concerts and events from spring through autumn, and has a grassy patch near the Opera House and the water’s edge where locals grab lunch and soak up the sun." - Richard Orange

There’s always some kind of event happening here in every season. In spring, you can see the most beautiful cherry blossoms in the city. In summer, you can sit back and relax by the fountain in the warm weather, and enjoy all the lively summer concerts hosted here. During winter, there’s a short but charming Christmas market and a large ice skating rink where you can skate to your heart’s content.

Fantastic park with a pleasant view , green all around and covered with beautiful flowers. When I visited the atmosphere was awesome and pleasant. Must visit the park in Stockholm and sit and enjoy the beautiful place. Usually not so crowded and peaceful place.

Nice city centre space. Lots going on from live events and seasonal use of the space to monuments and fountains. Enjoyed a walk though, place was clean and relaxed with people just chilling or touristinf about.

Kungsträdgården is a lovely spot in the heart of Stockholm, perfect for a relaxing stroll or people-watching. The cherry blossoms in spring are truly magical and attract lots of visitors. It often hosts events and concerts, adding a lively vibe to the area. Surrounded by cafes and shops, it’s easy to grab a coffee and enjoy the view. A must-visit if you want to experience Stockholm’s charm.

Google
Kunstradgarden, meaning Royal Gardens, is a big park in the very center. Once, there was also a Royal Palace here, which burned down in fire in 17 c, but the gardens remained. In the center is a big fountain and in the northern part nice pond, serving as a skating rink in winter. Several food/drinks kiosks around to cool down on one of many benches around

Kungsträdgården is one of the best parks in the city! It's such a beautiful place to hang out, especially when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. It's always lively with people, and there are so many cool events and things to see. It's a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the city vibes.

I love Stockholm in general. It's a city where i can relax, enjoy the beautiful scenery, sit on the bench, and just people watching. It's not my first here, but it never fails to amaze me how fabulous this city.

Yelp
Swedish for "King's Garden," Kungsträdgården is a park in central Stockholm. We took a stroll through the park our first night in Stockholm at the end of May, and it's a really lovely park. There are fountains, squares, cafes, and art displays. In winter, it hosts an ice rink, but we were there in late spring/early summer, it hosts festivals and concerts. We witnessed a little hockey festival. It's a lovely park for a stroll, or a glass of wine at a cafe, or a concert! Very beautiful.

Yelp
This is our fifth long visit to Stockholm, first in the winter. THERE IS A FREE ICE SKATING RINK WITH LIVE MUSIC, and boy, can the Swedes skate!!! The music was by Stockholm Jazz Records, featuring the incredible Robert Ikiz on drums and Leo Lindberg on keyboards. Look them up. They are INCREDIBLE. I am so impressed. Such a delightful evening. And if you take the nearby subway home, you are in for another delightful surprise.

Yelp
Translated as "the King's garden," Kungsträdgården is located in central Stockholm and on this warm late summer afternoon it was full of strollers and walkers and people picnicking. Other than enjoying the nature and the perfectly aligned tree-lined walkways, you'll find fountains and a reflecting pool, benches, bridges and beauty. If you're thinking about getting away from the buses and the trucks and the noise of the trams, this is the spot. [Review 18714 overall - 48 in Sweden - 2237 of 2022.]

Yelp
Now if I was a striking blonde Swede in a white turtleneck, I'm sure I'd want to be seen here. It definitely felt like a congregation point for locals and tourists in the middle of the city. The NYC park that it reminds me the most of is neither Central Park nor Washington Square but Bryant Park because it felt very much like an urban space where you could have a meal at a higher-end eatery inside the park. In fact, it's so urban they decided to use artificial grass, something akin to Astroturf on a lot of the grounds to minimize maintenance (photo: http://bit.ly/2mMwqAR). Those darn efficient Swedes, you betcha. As you head east of Sergels torg where the big, elliptical plaza leads to a series of underground shopping centers, you come up and see (at least in spring), the arresting sight of cherry blossom trees surrounding a large rectangular pond that apparently doubles as a concert stage when it's emptied out (photo: http://bit.ly/2mI5H6J). It was plenty crowded around the pool, so Jamie W. and I walked a bit further south near the statue of King Charles XIII where the Astroturf was wide open for any ignorant American tourist to sit a spell as they plot their next photo stop in Stockholm (photo: http://bit.ly/2mr4y1P). Staring at the soft serve cones passing by us as they were being licked to oblivion, we couldn't help ourselves and got a couple of the cones with chopped walnuts at a portable kiosk on the side of the park. The cones are called mjukglass in Swedish (photo: http://bit.ly/2mYhgsA), and they were a treat despite the rare encounter with a homeless woman resulting in the only harassment we experienced on our trip. I have to admit the lack of racial diversity in Stockholm was glaringly evident to the point where the lone black man in the park was conspicuous by his presence. People watching was clearly the spectator sport of choice here.

Yelp
I bet this is really a pretty place in the summer time. We saw it on several lists for suggested locations to visit in Stockholm and it was only walking distance from our hotel near Gamla Stan. We went and checked it out after visiting the royal palace. It is a large natural space in the middle of the city which is refreshing. It appears there are several water features, though they were all shut down during the winter months. There were a lot of foliage, trees, and plants that were hunkered down for the winter, but again I'm sure they really add to the magical environment in the spring and summer. There's also a large stage for entertainment and plenty of seating spots to relax and enjoy some fika when the weather is nice. I wish we could have seen it in summer, and next time we're back in Stockholm we'll have to check it out and I'm sure we'll be much more impressed. During the winter months there is a lot of ice on the walkways due to the shade the buildings cast, so definitely be careful.

Yelp
This is great spot to just hang out in the city! I've been here several times since my first trip in January and each time there's been something different happening. Including open air ice scatting and Viking festivals/Japanese festivals etc. It changes beautifully with each season. So far my favorite time has been a evening I visited at night where the lights were all lit and the snow was falling, so romantic! And the cherry blossom season beginning in April. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I was here while they were holding the yearly music concert Make Music Stockholm. My friend was the photographer for one of the bands, so we got to be on the back of the stage. It was cool to watch musicians up close. There were lots of food and alcohol beverage stands on the side, and big tents with big and long tables and benches where people could sit and watch the concert. I tried a dish from one of the stands, it was a homemade Italian food, well it was okay. Two metro lines has a stop near the park; the stop called Kungstragården.

Yelp
It was extremely beautiful and a wonderful place to visit. However, it is a shame that it literally smelled like someone had taken several dumps all over the garden. I understand that it is a city and susceptible to such stench but as a high traffic tourist destination I would expect that the city would at least spray some febreeze.
