Kunming Cloudland International Youth Hostel

We only stayed 2 nights with 1 full day there. Location great. We had an easy 15min Didi from Kunming train station. Our full day there we walked to Green Park from the hostel (about 25mins) going via Wenlin Street, and then on to Old Street.Staff very friendly and helpful, helped us book a restaurant on our first night. Good level of English spoken so could have a proper conversation without resorting to translation apps. We didn't make full use of the hostel facilities but all looked good.Our room was as pictured and as expected. Breakfast was a choice of Western (toast, fried egg, fruit) or local (Pork Noodles). They were both OK, though the noodles were better.The hostel is laid out in a courtyard type style with the barand billiards at the bottom so noose does tend to travel to the rooms. It was still rather noisy one evening at 11:30pm (quiet hours supposed to begin at 11pm) with groups chatting loudly, but I did WeChat the staff at reception who did respond very quickly to ask people to keep noise down. This was good service but if you are looking for the quietest night sleep this may not be the best choice for you.Cleanliness was good, but the bin in our bathroom was not emptied as you are asked to put toilet tissue in there I think it is important to be emptied daily. We were supplied with disposable slippers in our room, but even though they are in a plastic bag, one pair was wet when opened. They could also do with a bath mat for outside the shower especially because some water escapes past the curtain when showering.Overall it was a great stay, good location value and staff.

I enjoyed my stay here very much and decided to extend my stay several times. The room was perfectly clean, spacious and with good amenities. The common areas are quite charming and there's a nice cafe/restaurant with a variety of tasty foods and drinks. The hostel is very conveniently located close to the city center, market and subway. The staff is very friendly, helpful and with a superb service attitude. I can really recommend staying here!

I had a pleasant stay at this hostel, the dormitory was clean and so was the shared bathroom. The location is convenient, close to a metro station with several street food stalls. Towels and slippers are provided which is a bonus in hostels. The only downside was the noise. Sometimes they do karaoke nights and since the rooms aren't well insulated, you can hear every single noise. However it was all done by 11:30pm so I had no problems sleeping:) overall I definitely recommend it.

Very nice hostel, good vibes, several cosy spaces, staff is extremely kind and helpful. The rooms are very comfy and well organized with lockers, plugs, and curtains. Towels, shampoo, soap, and water are provided. Good restaurant/coffeeshop downstairs. Nice rooftop. Washing machine and dryers available for quite a low price. Great location, perfect place to stay !

This certainly has to be the very best hostel to stay in Kunming, or indeed anywhere. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, impeccably clean, a huge purple flowering tree in the courtyard reaching up into the balconies on all floors makes it very attractive. Lots of places to sit in the common area whether you want to be on your own or having a fun social time with the other travellers. Your choice. The location is excellent very Central. I stayed there several times and was sad to leave.

The accommodation is comfortable with a complete set of bed, duvet, pillows and clean towel. Personally love the locker that can be locked that made my sleep better knowing that my important stuffs are safe at night. Woke up to a beautiful sounds of chirping birds, and it was quite an enjoyable walk to the nearest station which if Panjiwan station, through a community garden.

Very clean and lively hostel. Towel, soap, slippers provided. Staff speak english and is very helpful at any time.Location is about 30 minutes walking to the park.The restaurant is a bit pricey and not as good as other places but there are many international choices on the menu so it is convenient.

Great hostel in Kunming! Very nicely located, the capsule beds are great for a good night of sleep. The bathrooms were very clean. The cafe downstairs has both great drinks and food. Ideal if you want to rest in between visits in Kunming and around! And of course the staff is very nice and helpful.
