On the Grid : Kunsthal

"At Kunsthal Rotterdam a small artistic staff organises exhibitions yearly, as well as fairs and numerous activities for the public. The programming at the Kunsthal is flexible in order to immediately jump on topical developments and unexpected possibilities. The building was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas." - Mangrove

It's a not big museum but I loved the layout of it. The place itself if very nice. I'm th kind of person who enjoys museum architecture, and this is one worth visiting. Regarding the exhibitions, its really depending on what's in the calendar. The art pieces i saw that days are not my kind, but still I enjoyed after walking around, I decided to have lunch on the terrace. Was very nice. I order some Thai fish cakes, and they were amazing. if you have 30-60 min free, you are on the area and have a museum kaart, then yes, make the stop and visit the Kunsthal

Every time I am in Rotterdam, I always go to the Kunsthal. I like how everything is arranged here, how the exhibitions are updated, what kind of visitors there are. This time I enjoyed the exhibition of the German expressionist Max Plechstein. I liked the concept of multi-colored works for different periods of his work, and not white or gray, as we are usually used to seeing in galleries.

Interesting exhibitions but I have the sense 18 EUR are a bit too much.

Nice museum where the exhibitions change frequently. There's always something new to see. The downside is that often one of the rooms is not available. It's definitely worth checking out if you're visiting or living in the city! (The ticket prices are a bit steep if you don't have a discount (or museum card etc). )

Nice art exhibitions and interesting. It’s very big, so sometimes i didn’t know where to go next, but in the end i found it. :-)

Some great exhibitions and art. A good mixture of styles and interests. Loved all of the displays except for all the fluffy pinkness of Cute. Though it's good to be challenged and it had surprisingly dark aspects to it like plushies/cuties representing drugs 'characters'. The display was very ingenious, just everything I hate about girliness and sexism.

Amazing museum hiding many exhibitions. These exhibitions are changed, so museum can be visited many times and always brings something new to your mind. Because of many exhibitions, I recommend to schedule at least three hours for its visit. When I was there, one of the best part was the hall with the photo masterpieces of Richard Avedon. His work and portraits speak by itself is something so impressive, that I looked at it at least one and half hour. Museum is really welk situated in the center of Rotterdam and for sure worths for your visit!

I have lived here for almost a year and I biked past this museum quite a few times. Finally I got to go inside and free with my museum card. We reserved two tickets and just had to show the museum card, very quick and painless. This was a nice place, one of my favorite museums in Rotterdam, it was more modern art which was really nice to see and I resonated with the messages. Nice installations and it wasn't too large so we did not feel overwhelmed with the amount of installations.
