Boring exhibit. Not much on display at all, and many displays were copies of previous ones, with different colors, or slightly different shape. Tons of empty space, both on the walls and between installations for seemingly no reason, other than a lack of stuff to put there.

It was a good gallery but not the biggest one. I would definitely go again If I am there. It has lockers so you can put your belongings somewhere safe

My review is based on this Beat Zoderer exhibition. We went there but the other part of the Museum is closed because they only open for the exhibition that time. Zoderer's work is more on geometrical image, symmetrical, abstract..Mostly a Math nerd Artist..I would honestly say, I like modern art but this one is not appealing for me.

The Herbert Oehm exhibition is excellent if you're into post war art movements, which I very much am. Yet the fact that the permanent collection, for which I travelled to Ulm, is not on show, without any decent communication of this fact to be found on the website of the museum, is none other than most disappointing. No Albers, Geiger, Lohse or any of the other artists, Nothing. Nada. Nulle, Zero.

Beautiful art gallery. Only 2 floors. Worth the 6 euros for students. Beautiful Rathaus in front.

The principal art museum of a university town like Ulm being open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.! What a joke!! When are working citizens being able to enjoy the exhibitions?

My review is dependent from the exhibitions. One I was there in summer and it was so amazing and breathtaking. Then I went to Alexander Kluge exhibition and I was disappointed. I am not a fan of cheap low quality videos with sneezing old lady in a aluminum foil, I rather go to YouTube.

Make sure you check what is showing currently before you waste €8 looking at crappy abstract modern art!

Yelp
First the address is wrong and this is not where it is currently listed on Yelp. I have submitted a correction. It is in the city centre of Ulm directly opposite the Rathaus. It is a family private collection and consists of artists mainly American with a collection of modern art, pop art and appropriated art. They have some nice pieces of work from Andy Warhol and others. We had a tour guide who was pretty useless and was not able to explain a lot about the art or the artist. Her English was also weak which made the communication harder. I would visit this gallery if this type of art is your thing. It's one of only four private family collections in Ulm that you can visit without prior appointment and it is attached to the city museum so you can see both on the same day.
