Not a big art fan, but it took us like half an hour to find this museum , while walking through the old town of Zurich, as it doesn't stand out on a big boulevard or plaza.
Wasn't sure how much to pay, as the fee depends on how much of the museum you want to see, with certain areas costing extra. 26 chf for the entire museum, 16 chf for the permanent collection, and 16 chf for the Sammiung Collection, including Guillaume Bruere. Lady charged us 16 chf, as I didn't look like a very knowledgeable art connissour.
This museum has western works since 1600 and prominent modern art works, the latter of which is not of much interest to me.
Prominent works include Vincent Van Gogh's self portrait with bandaged ear and pipe, the cypress and flowering tree, and Claude Monet Houses of Parliament at Sunset
Has not only works by Monet, Van Gogh and Picasso, but others such as Chagall, Cezanne, Brancusi, Rodin, Miro, Kandinsky, Edvard Munch, and Dutch masters. One prominent piece: the Gates of Hell by Rodin.
The Sammiung Collection was supposed to be free for seniors 65+, but the admission's person didn't think I looked that old, and didn't give me the free admission.
Free entry on Wednesday, but wouldn't you know it, we were only in town Saturday through Monday, and Monday they are closed!
