"The former seat of the Parliament of North Rhine–Westphalia, this grand neo-Renaissance building is known for its cutting-edge art exhibitions. Originally designed by architect Julius Raschdorff and renovated by Munich firm Kiessler & Partner (who added the eye-catching domed roof composed of almost 2,000 sheets of glass), the venue is part of the greater Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen collection, but focuses specifically on works created after the 1980s. As a result, visitors can expect to find large-scale film and video installations, site-specific works, and shows by contemporary heavy hitters like Bill Viola, Nam June Paik, and Andreas Gursky, shown on a rotating basis across the building’s four connected wings. If you visit the museum with kids, be sure to check out the fun, interactive In Orbit installation by Tomás Saraceno."

This place is incredible not only because of that fun part where you go to the upper floor and walk on a metal metal mesh, but because of all the works of art you'll find here. This museum is super big, make sure to come with enough time to see everything.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible… Stay away from this museum! First of all there was no paintings (only three in a room, as you can see in the picture) and exhibitions! The staff wasn’t speaking English, just German, and when I asked something in English they answered us in German! The tickets were very expensive for this museum, because we just saw an empty room. They didn’t give us a receipt, and when we saw the tickets prices at a board it was 8€ per person and the kids were free, but we paid 24€ for two adults! I have to say only one word! Awful!!! We spent our money and time for nothing! Stay away and before go read my review!

The space in and around K21 is stunning. Each window that looks onto the atrium frames a different vista of layers of architectural elements. Different styles of stairways make it fun just to go up and down and around. Classic architectural elements are reinterpreted with modern building materials. The place invites you to dwell upon the traditions that modern art stems out of as well as the breakaways and breakthroughs and the rebels of our own times.

Amazing building with impressive design. Happy to see Issac Julien collection. Roof top trip was fun and not too crowded on a weekend! Would definitely visit again for other exhibitions in future!

Excellent Düsseldorf art gallery in a brilliant building. We went primarily to see the Jenny Holzer exhibition which was outstanding. But there was lots of other very interesting work there. Plus of course the public wandering around on nets 4 stories up!!

I am happy to help you write a review for a modern gallery. Here's a sample review: The modern gallery I visited was a breathtaking experience. As soon as I walked in, I was struck by the stunning works of art on display. The gallery had a great collection of contemporary art, featuring some of the most talented artists of our time. The space itself was clean, well-lit, and spacious, which allowed me to fully appreciate each piece of art. The gallery staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and they were happy to answer any questions I had about the art on display. The variety of artworks on display was impressive, ranging from paintings to sculptures and installations. Each piece of art had its own unique style and message, which made for a thought-provoking and inspiring experience. What I appreciated most about this modern gallery was its commitment to showcasing diverse and innovative artists. The gallery was not afraid to take risks with its art choices, and it paid off in creating a dynamic and engaging exhibition. Overall, I highly recommend this modern gallery to anyone looking for a unique and memorable art experience. The quality and diversity of the art on display, combined with the welcoming and knowledgeable staff, made for a truly exceptional visit.

Today I randomly decided to visit Kunstsammlung as a tourist from San Francisco, but my order is wrong, I recommend you reverse my order. First of all I have to say, 4th floor already blow my mind, I imagine buy a drink, and take my wine glasses walk all over the museum. But as a tourist from San Francisco I indeed don't know the law regulations more than you do. Just a suggestions, I think you can bring more hip people here, starting from one day only every week. I visited the museum with a bit serious mood, because there are so many staff watching us, and it's modern art, I was here because of the buildings and the architecture, I don't consider myself understanding art that much. So here is my suggestion, go to 1st floor cafe Lemonpie first, get a glass of Riesling and an apple pie ( this is really great combination) and make yourself a bit tipsy later you starting the museum tour with even better mood. I guarantee you will have a 5 stars review if you do this order.
