This is a must visit for any lover of Nairobi urban culture and art. You can visit with artists as they work. High-quality and affordable pieces are available. I chatted up a few artists and made purchases. Such a great space for creativity and culture and human exchange!

Highly recommend a trip to the Kuona Artist Collective Centre. Such a bright and vibrant energy! The centre features the studios and art works of local Kenyan-based artists. When I visited, I was able to enter into the artists studios and see what they were currently working on. I had to opportunity to talk with many artists and learn more about purchasing their work from them directly. If you are interested in contemporary and want to meet folks in the scene, I’d highly recommend.

Good possibility to buy some african art

Neat hidden gem in Nairobi. Caretaker opened up some of the offices and studios for us. Make sure to check out the New Haven restaurant next door.

Well worth a visit. The artists here are very talented. They cover a broad array of art types from painting, to sculptures, to modern art. I swore I wasn't going to buy anything, but then fell in love with this wood carving which I now have to schlep for the next 3 weeks around Africa.
