10 Best Hotels and Resorts in Curaçao for a Local Stay - AFAR
"A transformational redevelopment of eight blocks of formerly abandoned buildings into an 80-room resort-museum complex, showcasing hand-painted guest rooms that retain original 18th- and 19th-century features like carved mahogany, teak, high colonial ceilings, and wooden shutters. Amenities include two freshwater pools, five restaurants, a spa, a sculpture garden featuring local artist Hortense Brown, and numerous design installations, while the on-site museum presents rare African art and a thoughtful, educational exploration of the island’s legacy of slavery." - Laura Feinstein
We didn't stay in the area. We floated in on a cruise ship and stumbled into this area. It read beautiful. Very quaint. A nice little chocolate shop, coffee bar, gelato, and most importantly free restrooms! It's with a brief visit and not far off the path at all.

We were well received and the place is clean and professional, though the staff person who received us had a little of an attitude at the beginning.
It’s really well located at the Hulanda Village with lots of stores, restaurants and cafes around.
They did a good job at the massage for the price.

A really nice hotel in a great location. The staff was mostly very friendly and helpful. The exception was the fellow at the front desk who was a bit snarky to my girlfriend regarding grammar. The buildings and rooms were very nice, and well-appointed. The only problem we had was a small issue with ants. They sent housekeeping to remedy the problem very quickly.

Location and value is 4 stars breakfast is included, the resort itself is old and very dated, many areas need repair, but there is a rustic feel to it that some will enjoy. The staff is friendly and accommodating, combined with the great weather, make for an memorable and good experience.

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean. They weren't able to find our reservation upon arrival and put us in a small upstairs room. Shortly after getting our things up there they called to let us know they did have another room available and it was spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning and had dinner most nights at the hotel. Servings were generous and we were able to spend time talking with Anita, one of the chefs. There was a small walk up bar near our room and you could get specialty coffee, water, beer (limited offerings), wine or mixed drinks. We enjoyed feeling like we were in a village.

Google tagged this for the spa, but I actually was at the Lionfish restaurant. Everything was so good. I had the sampler platter. That chef is very talented! Also, they use leftover fins to make jewelry. Very cool, very unique.

Didn’t stay at the hotel. This review is about the museum. The museum is fascinating but heart-breaking. Do yourself a favor & get the guided tour. A history of slavery & the slave trade: it will rip your heart out, but it’s also a history of perseverance & strength. Experiencing this museum is a necessity.
