Kura Schaumburg left us extremely disappointed.
We’ve celebrated birthdays and special occasions at several Kura locations over the years Skokie has always been our go-to but Schaumburg was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had.
We came to celebrate our goddaughter’s birthday with three young kids, and my son was especially excited because Kura is his favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, it quickly went downhill.
My husband cannot eat seafood or shellfish, so we asked for a simple maki roll just avocado and cream cheese. We were told they couldn’t make it. We then asked for a plain avocado roll and were told again that they “won’t make it because they’re busy.” This has never been an issue at the Skokie location. My husband ended up leaving hungry and had to get food elsewhere, which already put a damper on our celebration.
Then came the kids asking for their usual prize toys. Instead of handling it kindly, the server repeatedly questioned the kids about how many plates they ate, making the whole experience uncomfortable for them.
After spending over $120, we walked out feeling upset, disappointed, and honestly shocked. The service, the refusals, and the way the kids were treated completely ruined what was supposed to be a fun birthday dinner. I’m truly sad to say we won’t be returning to the Schaumburg location. Even my son said he’s sad that “Kura is no longer good” and that broke my heart.
We’re definitely done with Schaumburg.
Don’t go to this place unless you want to pay for bad experience!
