Set meals, presenting the best of Kyoto.
It's in the 'Asty' restaurant row at Kyoto station - one of a whole bunch of small restaurants, all serving (as usual) excellent food at reasonable prices - and yes, this is what makes Train Station Dining in Japan so exceptional.
This particular place is all about Kyoto specialities, but not done Kaiseki style - you get a little set menu, with rice, a couple of sides, and some dashi for the rice. It's all excellent stuff - it's hard to go wrong (though, if you're not careful, you might end up w/ twice the amount of food that you can consume!)
Add in an excellent sake selection, and, well, #LifeIsGood!
