Was visiting Cairns and decided to stay at Kuranda for a few nights. What a hidden gem was this place. All the staff were so accommodating and provided advice on things to see and do. We stayed by the pool and the rooms were great. The beds comfy and showers hot. Town centre and markets only 3 minutes from the park. Talking to locals, the parks under new management and you could tell they were all about the experience. Thanks guys and a special shout out to the admin ladies for being so accommodating. A wonderful place to stay, if you want to spend some nights in the rainforest. Amenities were a bit old, but clean and enough for the amount of sites. We enjoyed our time very much, but bear in mind, that you will have jungle sounds all night and we saw two (tree) snakes… scary, but wonderful! Also nearby Kuranda Village is just a 15min walk away… very Hippie (partly), we liked it. Great staff as well by the way. Thanks a lot and we will try to come back as soon as possible.

We recently stayed at Kuranda caravan park for a few days. The park is set in beautiful rainforest and we woke to peace and quiet with a few birds in the distance. Great set up, cabins are spacious, comfy bed, coffee shop on premises. The owners are very friendly and informative about the area and the attractions. Great setting in the rainforest. This caravan park has shown an appalling lack of integrity by taking advantage of vulnerable residents. What should be a safe and welcoming community for families has instead become a place where people are exploited and treated with little respect or compassion.||Management seems far more focused on squeezing money out of residents than providing a decent standard of living or support. Facilities are poorly maintained, communication is dismissive, and there’s no sense of care for those doing it tough.||It’s shocking to see a business operate like this under the guise of being “family friendly.” I would strongly urge anyone considering staying here—especially families or those in vulnerable circumstances—to look elsewhere.

Great host. Clean and well presented park. Sites are on the small side but we fit our little caravan (13ft) with ease.

Beautiful setting, felt like you were in the middle of the rain Forrest. What spoiled it was the stench from the septic system, the full days of tree work from. 7am to 3pm and all the permanent residents that made the place look a mess, we even had one permanent residents ask us if we could back him up if another bloke attacked him

Kuranda is a lovely place - not so the Kuranda Caravan Park. We had an unpowered site. For the size of our set up, this site should have been set aside for a small tent. Couldn’t understand it when they knew the size of our van. Only just fitted onto the site with no room to spare. We were on a significantly sloping site. Tried to put our awning out but it ended up in the bushes that separated the sites. Couldn’t sit outside as there was no room. The van was on a slope at the rear and a slope at the side. We slept with our heads downhill with extreme discomfort. The van was in a dangerous position on this site. Don’t know how they could have done this to us and yet they took our money. Also, the dump point at the bottom of the hill stunk like you wouldn’t believe and the surrounding area was muddy from the urine overflowing at the dump point. We couldn’t get out of this park quick enough. In all fairness, we therefore have no reason to recommend this park as a stay at all.

This is Kuranda's only caravan park. We were put into an area, similar to a gravel pit but with p&w in what was advertised as a tropical oasis. We paid $58/n the same as those in the lower part of the park but didn't have the room to put out our awning or park vehicles. We had no grass, trees & were a good hike from any amenities. The clincher was the bottom oasis had plenty of empty slab sites on both the nights we stayed. The 2nd night they squeezed 4 vans into an area where a decent park might have squeezed 3. I'm 5ft & I was a foot short of touching our van & the motorhome next to us with my arm span. We couldn't even put our awning out. If you do need to stay in this park please ensure you ask to be in the bottom part of the park. It was a heartbreaking stay in a beautiful town.
