This is a fun, somewhat wacky campground, not far outside Cairns.
It's got lots of areas to pitch a tent or park your camper van. It also has cabins to rent: nothing fancy, but clean and simple. There's a pool, and one of the best restaurants in the Kuranda area (the Kuranda Veranda) with a bar and views of the rainforest: we got takeaway curries to take back to our cabin that were spicy and delicious.
The campground is right in the middle of the rainforest. One of the highlights is a local guide who will take you around on a night nature walk. He's a knowledgeable guy and good at spotting animals in the dark; we saw flying foxes, wallabies, frogs, and all manner of bugs.
They seem to have regular performances here of live music and films.
The owners are friendly, and it's very reasonably priced. Don't exect luxury, but it's a fun place to stay.
