I booked the private onsen room on 1-2 July, it’s was very hot in Tokyo, but the temp was manageable in Kusatsu. The town has no one perhaps it’s not the peak season.
This is one of the best ryokan I’ve ever stayed in Japan. Top notch services, the room was very new, perfect onsen temperature, both breakfast and dinner were arranged in private rooms. I booked it to have a celebration with my mother and we were very satisfied. They also has a shuttle to send us back to the bus terminal.
Only one down side is that they rushed us to finish the Kaiseki dinner.. always wanted to take the plates back and would appreciate if we can take our time.
