I spent 2 weeks in Negril, the first at another 5 star resort down the road. The second week at Kuyuba Resort. This is an absolutely beautiful, resort with lush greenery and ||excellent food in their restaurant as well. ||This review is an accolade to Beach Security Daquan.|| I arrived at the beach early morning as I always do and was greeted by a tall man who introduced himself as Beach Security, his name is Daquan. Daquan is a tall, ||handsome Jamaican, he got me a lounge chair, planted an umbrella for me and then delivered a side table. He sat behind me in the shade of my umbrella when he was ||not helping the other guests. At one point Daquan jumped up and went to he aid of an elderly woman who had fell into the water by accident, claiming she had too much|| to drink. Daquan helped her to a chair, helped her with the contents of her phone, removing her SIMM card and battery, requested one of the restaurant servers to bring ||a bag of rice to dry her phone, a few minutes later, a toddler about 2 to 3 yrs ran down the beach toward us and headed into the ocean, no Mom anywhere. ||Daquan ran after the toddler picked her up as she entered the water and held her gently while looking for parent who was now running up the beach frantically, ||and then thanked him, and Daquan went back to the elderly woman who was still a little rattled from her ordeal. Within the next hour a 10 week old little puppy came ||struggling up the beach dragging a big thick heavy wet rope that was tied around his neck, inhibiting his movement, was removed by a waitress from the restaurant above, we watched as the puppy did a happy dance, so happy to be free of the weight and Daquan gave the hungry puppy the rest of his lunch, and then water of which he drank ALL of and ate ALL that was put in front of him.||No one else seemed to notice this amazing, pleasant, kind man securing the beach and keeping everyone safe and happy. I also had trouble getting my laptop to connect to the hotel internet with the code I was given, and Daquan solved all of those problems for me, and got it all to connect and because of Daquan I was able to have internet as well.||After 3 days with Daquan always sitting near me, we had many wonderful conversations about our views on everything happening in life. ||Day 4 Daquan was put on night shift security. I asked for a lounge chair from the new guy, eventually it came. Then I asked for an umbrella, he said you don't need one you're in the shade, something about too windy, and there were no side tables brought to anyone on the beach that day either. As the shade left me, I asked for the umbrella, but unfortunately, the new guy said, "there were none left". ||I went to my room to get a small small umbrella that I brought from home. ||The next day before Daquan left to go home in morning after his all night shift, he put MY lounge chair in the spot I always sat and put his T shirt on the back indicating it was taken. I recognized his shirt and new that was MY chair and sat down. The New Guy, came and said: "I saw that you forgot your Tshirt here yesterday and I new that it was yours, and I put that chair out for you with your shirt on it". I knew this was not true, and he was trying to take credit for something I knew Daquan had done and I said "No, this is Daquan's shirt, he put the chair here for me before he went home".||Daquan put the chair with his shirt on it every day till I left. ||I think Daquan needs to be the daytime beach security instead of the night shift, as everyone missed him and Daquan was the talk of Kuyaba resorts beach guests every day that he was gone and that the New Guy was so hard to find most of the time.
