Kvikkjokk Fjällstation

STF Kvikkjokk Fjällstation is a typical medium-sized hut run by the Swedish Tourist Association. It enjoys a beautiful location and offers a small shop focused on outdoor items and some food, a restaurant, a social area, rooms in various sizes, and clothes washing and drying facilities. On the downside, the staff may be less helpful than in other STF huts (perhaps I was just unlucky), the area is heavily affected by mosquitoes, and there are no tent sites at the station — instead, you need to find a spot a few hundred metres to the north.

The other huts and Fjällstationer run by STF are very cozy and warm, but this place has very small common areas and does not feel welcoming due to a lot of admonitory signs. We considered staying here for one night, but after visiting over lunch while hinting a smell of mold I am happy we didn’t.

This is certainly not a “Fjällstation” by STF standard. A good candidate for an episode of “Hotel Hell”. This is perfect for you who want to be greeted with signs telling what’s “forbidden”, and big CCTV sign. Some signs are valid (leave backpacks outside, take of shoes) but others are just ridiculous. Why forbid people to use the benches outside? The place smells of mold and sewage. The food was OK for what it was (Croque monsieur including pommes frites and coffee 150 SEK). I feel bad for the poor staff who obviously have ambition but have to work in these conditions - they certainly work hard with what they have. I will not return.

Wonderful atmosphere at the mountain station! Candles are burning and green branches in vases. Great and delicious breakfast. Good service!

If you are planning on camping here, do not bother. To put it short: they do not want you here. There are endless signs on everything how it’s only for the guests who stay in the rooms: Carbage bins, toilets, wifi, laundry service. Luckily you can still shop at the overpriced shop and eat at the restaurant - thanks for that. But to use a toilet (only for guests and restaurant visitors, they are literally locked up outside restaurant hours) or wifi or even trash bin or laundry is impossible, does not matter how much you spend in the shop or restaurant. I mean rules are rules and that’s OK, but after one day at this station I feel like I am not welcome. Also, they do not have the usual lunch buffet that other stations have. Positives: there is a tap water for everybody and it’s not locked up. You can take a shower for 70 sek 30 minutes no shoap or shampoo included.

Lovely mountain station with great staff, cozy ambience, amazing food and really good overall service. The location is perfect for starting/continuing the hike or ski touring. Had a special time there! Would love to come back in the near future.

Stayed here in Aug. 2024 during my hike on Kungsleden. Easy Check-In, wonderful interior and nice comfortable rooms :)|The dinner was delicious and the selection of swedish beers was great! Breakfast gave me more than enough energy for the upcoming hike and was definitly worth the money. Still craving for the muesli you serve.|Hope to stay here in the future!

Great location, very friendly personel, very tasty dinner aswel. Breakfast couldve been better though.

Used to be a good nice place, This year is different, Bad food on the cart, Unpleasant old host which has no customerservice feeling, feel bad for the nice young other people that has to be stuck with her during this pandemic . ‍
