Didn't really know what to expect, we were very pleased with the whole experience. The staff were amazing very courteous and polite, very welcoming. From reception to restaurant and the game drive staff amazing. The room was good what I would describe as colonial, dark wooden furniture. The bathroom was more than acceptable cleaned daily and towels replenished daily.

Our family of 2x adults and 2x kids aged 14 and 9 stayed for 5 nights in January. We had such a great time - Joseph was a sensational ranger and a character also - managed to find us almost everything obscure we asked about on our last drive. Also Tito / Tato (?) gave a really interesting snake demo - I've seen a few of these before elsewhere but his was really great and he was very patient afterwards with my kids holding the snakes. Clearly he is passionate about his snakes!|That said, all the staff were pleasant and friendly. The rooms were great. Comfortable, clean albeit somewhat dated. And the buffet food was great, variety and plentiful. Thanks Kwa Maritane - we'd love to be back one day!

This was my 7th stay at Kwa Maritane and it didn’t disappoint. The property itself is beautiful with well maintained gardens and clean swimming pools. The self catering chalets are well maintained and clean and contain everything you need. The staff are all extremely pleasant and friendly.||The icing on the cake is of course the animals who come to visit the watering hole and who provide the best kind of entertainment. I can’t recommend Kwa Maritane enough!!

My Fiancée and I had spent the week there, i would say that I haven’t had such a peaceful vacation in a long time. The staff was amazing and the views were great. I highly suggest going to the hide and be patient and spend some time there to see some animals up close. And I have to add praise to the Spa, everything was just perfect, from the sauna to the heated pool. The massage was just indescribable, I will definitely make sure to visit again. The staff was also so professional and makes a person feel comfortable. The only issue I had was that the Restaurant is extremely expensive (I am not a cheapskate) but paying almost R400 for a springbok loin and mash is crazy, and then my dish came and my mash tasted like instant mash and the veggies tasted like frozen veg you can buy by Checkers. Will not be visiting the Restaurant again.

Excellent service and comfortable stay overall. Would definitely recommend for self-catering (outdoor braai and gas braai/pan with seated area overlooking nearby wildlife). Enjoyable poolside area with restaurant that serves buffet as well as other delicious meals. Daily room service/housekeeping. Poolside sunbeds could be cleaned daily from the birds that perch on them but this occurrence was a below minimal inconvenience (Just a polite and pleasant recommendation to staff for frequent poolside guests).

What a beautiful setting! The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. My father unfortunately fell ill and the lodge assisted us in record time in getting my dad to a wonderful hospital called Lesego. We loved the facilities and driving through the park.

It's absolutely stunning. My Fiance and myself were so at peace. 5* rooms and wildlife all day and night. Will be back next year. The hide is excellent for photos videos even mobile clips. Great facilities and honestly on next year list again.

The lodge is situated in a beutiful place and location is very convenient if you want to do a self-drive at the park. Unfortunately the room was not well maintained and certainly not worth four stars. We booked an executive suite to have some additional luxury for our stay. In the first night, after game drive and dinner we went to room only to find out that there were insects in our beds. We called housekeeping immediately and very moody lady came to change our sheets. No apologies from her part. She confirmed that the insects drop down from the (tatched) roof. In few minutes the beds were crawling the insects again. We backed our stuff and went to reception to ask for help. I overheard the receptionist say to his collegue that "they are still dropping there" which indicated that they knew there is a problem! We were offered another room from the same building but downstairs - without tatched roof. As soon as we inspected the beds there was a dead spider in the sheets. Also, there were some other (dead) beetles on the floor. Not to mention the stains on the sheets. Clearly the room has not been maintained well. As it was midnight already we did not have a choise but stay for the night. This was certainly not the kind of Valentine's day we were looking for at the four star hotel. We had unfortunately booked two nights stay but we tried to stay out of the room as much as possible. I gave feedback when we checked out and the lady in the reception just said she will pass this information on to the manager. While driving back home I got a call from manager (?) but the network was bad and I got the impression that he will also look into what happened. Never heard from him since. All in all, it was a very expensive mistake to stay at this lodge; very big disappointment.
