Had the best time at this hostel. It's split over 2 flats with rooms upstairs and the large and well-equipped common room/kitchen downstairs. They sell beer and water cheaply, and there are 2 large supermarkets nearby. The staff are really friendly and organise Chernobyl tours and others for you. The rooms are big, and comfortable. The showers work well and they provide a hair dryer. ||It is at the top of a large flight of stairs, but it's great exercise! In a safe area, had no trouble at night. About an 18 min walk from the train station, but a taxi would cost you 1 euro. About 30 mins to Independent square, but there is a metro nearby too.||I recommend this 100%!!

You can find better in terms of cleanliness, and convenience of location, and friendliness and courtesy of staff. ||I heard about this place both as a hostel to stay in, and as a place to volunteer in exchange for a place to sleep. The Brazilian manager said he had a place open, he was also boasting that his hostel was "unique" in that it didn't have Russian and Ukrainian people, as if it was anything to brag about. ||First of all you have to climb up a flight of stairs and it seemed to be in a building with other residents, also it did not look nice at all, actually was quite unkempt. The manager gave ambiguous cues of what to do. He gave a list of tasks that I'd have to handle, some of which included giving directions, and recommendations for travellers, which would be hard for me since I'd only been in the city for a few days myself. When I asked for a clarification of exactly what to do first, and when, he started to give unclear signals, as if I should already know what to do, when I suggested that I do the laundry, he stalled, and started talking about not knowing where I'm going to sleep. ||Also, when I was talking to the guests there, he seemed rude, and interrupted. He later said that he'd put me in a dorm room. Then after already wasting so much of my time, and promising to answer my email, which he didn't, upon a reminder he sent me a pretext that they had some talks and rescheduling, and that they can't take another person. He is either lying or highly disorganized, and irresponsible (or both) if he wasted so much of my time (one week of emailing) back and forth. Also, as I said the quality of the hostel didn't seem very good, and if you want a more conveniently located hostel near the train station, I'd recommend vshokoladi hostel, which is also cheap. ||The hostel did not seem very nice or clean at all, quite shabby honestly and I took a good look around, and didn't have good facilities, way better places in Kiev you could find for a similar price. Also, the other staff aside from the manager did not seem friendly or polite in the least bit.||BTW: There are lots of good hostels to volunteer at in the Baltic states e.g. Lithuania, ad Estonia, if one was looking for that, I did it for a month there and it was pretty cool, I worked hard and was respected for it. I'd stay away from this hostel if I was a traveller.

Very friendly hostel with great staff and facilities. The beds are comfy and the toilets, showers and sink areas were all very clean throughout my week long stay there. Aricio was great at organising things for guests, including a visit to a former nuclear missile base for myself. ||||The hostel is quite far out from the main centre (15-20 mins walk), but the nearest metros at Universitat or zoloti vorota are both helpful for getting around and only cost 5 hyrvnia per journey. There is also an ATM just a few seconds from the main entrance and a handy supermarket around the corner that covers everything you will need. If you fancy a drink, the Palata No6 bar is very close by which does great food and "pyrotechnical drinks". ||||Unfortunately whilst I visited, there was a large group at the hostel that were quite rowdy when coming back drunk each night at around 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning. This did detract from the experience and there was only one member of staff to calm them down and clean the mess they made each night. However, I imagine this is probably a rare occurrence. Despite this, I did enjoy my time there and would recommend it to people travelling in the area.

This Hostel is awesome! I spent almost three weeks in Kiev and one of the reasons for that was the fact that I felt very at home at this hostel. Both that staff and the guests are super friendly and in the end of the day everyone is hanging out together :-). There is two floors, one for sleeping and one almost entirely as a social space for cooking and having beers and stuff... I'd really recommend it not only as a stay but also for a certain social embeddedness for your stay in Kiev!

First of all. Kyiv is a BIG city. If you like to complain about a 15-minute walk to the train station or city center, stay at home or go somewhere else. It's such a short walk for a city this big. Also, you can order a taxi via Bolt or Uber which is very, very cheap what I did almost every day. A hostel is a hostel, not a 5 star hotel. You expect Airconditioning? You don't know much about Kyiv Ukraine. ||||I stayed for as long as I could and had an AMAZING time there. To be honest. I did not wanted to leave the hostel like a bunch others who stayed there at the same time. I miss it! Maybe the best time I had in the last 10 years. Staff are staff and no one is the same. They all try to do their best in their own way. Thank you all.||||The rooms were very clean and so were the showers and toilets. Yes, sometimes it was a little cold. This has to do with the government who turns central heating off during certain months. The hostel can't do much about that and they should not be blamed for this. ||||It was a blast and 1000% worth it. ||I will go back every year if I can. Kyiv has a lot to offer when you know the right places and the hostel felt like a place I can call home. Don't judge based on people who think that it is a 5-star hotel or are too lazy to walk/find solutions. I loved staying here.

Despite what the name might suggest, this is a good 20 minutes walk from the central station. Despite this, the hostel is in a pleasant neighborhood and there are a couple of metro stations a 10 minute walk away meaning getting around isn't a problem.||The hostel itself is kept very clean and the beds were comfortable. A little curtain on the side of the beds would have been nice but other than that, I had 2 very pleasant nights sleep here (admittedly the copious amounts of alcohol might have had something to do with this!)||There is a small shop 2 doors down from the hostel which does sell alcohol and currency exchanges, cafes and ATMs are all close by. It was very easy to meet people in the common room and the kitchen is well equipped if you do decide to cook.||Overall, in a city with few hostel choices I can highly recommend this place - had a great time!

One of my favourite hostels. Its not in the centre but for me that was a plus. Its right next to one if the best and cheapest bars ive been to not just in Kiev but anywhere! Very close to public transport or a nice walk from most places you would likely go in Kiev. The centre is a 15 minute walk. The hostel says that it is “no frills” but it actually has a lot more frills than a lot of hostels. Great atmosphere, great nights out and it made my stay in Ukraine unforgettable.

I love my stay here, I got to know the 2 owner reasonably because pretty much the whole hostel would go out for dinner and beers every night. Kira and Marsha (the two workers i got to know) are both awesome people and are really friendly. Out of the 5 hostels i stayed at within Ukraine this was the only one that had a social life. I even earned my self a nickname. -Table
