Kyle of Tongue Hostel & Campsite

Booked in a panic after my planned site was fully booked. I was worried that this site wouldn't live up to the one I had planned to stay at. It was actually so much better! The staff were so helpful and friendly. The toilet and shower block were very nice and extremely clean. My pitch was right next to the road but it meant I had a beautiful view of the mountains and causeway at sunset. The road was so quiet after sunset so not a problem. I traveled with a dog and there is a lovely side road along the Kyle for a morning walk before hitting the road again. Would love to visit again and would definitely highly recommend.

Nice campsite, all facilities. They have small shop and offer meals from the hostel. Pitches are a decent size if people park on them properly! Right next to A9 but quiet at night. Nice views of the mountains. If you drive half way across the bridge next to the campsite you can park up and get views like these pictures...beautiful and peaceful. Nowhere to walk dog that I could find.

Great little site with stunning views all around. All the facilities you need and even though they are a little dated, they are kept very clean. Friendly and welcoming staff who couldn’t help enough. Got a little crowded on the night we stayed and felt like they show horned tents onto any available patch of grass but come 9pm all was silent.

Excellent accomadation with greatest cleanness. First feeling was -i came back to home from long journey.Each corner in the building was made with love.Highly recovered. 5 star hotel service with more home feeling .Owner,lady who we met at morning put all her soul in this house.

This was my most expensive NC500 stop. The campsite is based in the most stunning location & I was treated to gorgeous views & a stunning sunset over the water. The staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful. I had phoned up in the morning & was very lucky that they kindly fitted me in - I actually ended up coming back a second night too. It’s worth noting that the pitches felt very close together & the site was very busy the first night but much better the second. You are also right next to a fast road but this doesn't get too much traffic. Onsite facilities were great (just a shame the cafe didn't do coffee other than filter) but there is very little to do in the area. That said, it was a great stopover & would recommend.

Really good campsite on the NC500. Level, good sized pitches, immaculately clean showers and toilet block washing and washing up facilities and a very nice cafe serving bacon rolls in the morning. Definitely a place to stay.

Great location for a stop during the NC500, we've been doing a yearly trip for 6 years now and this year was our first time at this site. We plan to make it a permanent choice in future. Typically this area suffers quite badly with midges but the openness of this site allows for some breeze which is perfect to prevent them. Site owner was very friendly and the facilities were good. Good pitches with reasonable ground for hammering tent pegs in - we bent a few but better than other sites. Small well stocked shop on site for the essentials. Would recommend booking in advance.

Stayed in my van conversion while touring Scotland. Friendly staff, clean facilities, warm showers. Would recommend to others and use again myself.
