A small museum of local history. One part is dedicated to fishing, the other to the railroad and the station. Lots of informative stands, models of trains and ships, and other artifacts. You can read the stories of people who lived and worked here. A small play corner for the children. I suggest planning about 45 minutes here

Tucked away in the train station, this enthusiast run museum gives great insight into the development of trade and working lives of the people working the ferries, the railway, the fishing industry and cattle movements as the railway opened up the inner Hebrides economy to the rest of the country. Well presented and displayed. Also the story of how the Ske Bridge came into being and the fight to remove the tolls. Important part of recent history of the area. Great model train section for the kids too

Cute little museum about the local history of the town, fishery and transportation. Includes a small train model where you can choose one of two trains to take a short ride. Very nice staff :) took around 30 minutes to read through.

This is a very nice small, volunteer-run museum about local history. It tells you about the life in Kyle of Lochalsh and the surrounding area before and after the railway was build. The exhibition includes old photographs and objects, as well as testimonies from locals and model ships and trains. If you are planning on boarding a train in Kyle, I suggest getting to the station 30mn earlier to visit the museum. They also sell hot drinks, snacks, postcards, souvenirs and so on. It's worth supporting them so they can expand their collections and keep the local history alive! "Better than the Louvre" – my husband, an enthusiast

Take the time to stop off here on your travels. Interesting information about the Skye bridge, the railway and many more local stories (plus a model railway for the kids). Friendly staff and good shop. Support this local attraction!!

Really interesting, the adults enjoyed learning more about the history of the Kyle line and the children enjoyed playing with toys and watching the model trains. Perfect if you have a couple of hours to fill.

This is a fantastic little museum, both for the trains and history! They have a small snack bar as well. The document provided tons of information and guidance about the museum, where to sit on the trains for the best views, and the nearby Isle of Skye. This is a great little adventure while I'm the area. As a big rail fan, you do not want to miss this one!
