What a fantastic hotel. So far absolutely the best stay we have had in Japan. The four days were amazing, from the warm greeting and delicious welcome drink to the incredible breakfast buffet we enjoyed every single day. Our room was very comfortable and quite quiet for being on a busy city street. The bed was a little soft, but we slept very well. In the basement was a drink station with snacks, a clean workout room, male and female onsen and efficient laundry that we were grateful for since we sweat like crazy in the heat. Everything we tried in the restaurant was delicious, some of the best wine and beer we had during our trip. The location was perfect, close to the subway and a reasonable walk to Gion.

I loved this hotel so much of all the places I stayed in Japan between Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. Such a beautiful property! The welcome drink and treat was yummy and thoughtful. The room was spacious and the layout was well thought out. Staff were friendly and professional. The amenities were great and access times were good. The laundry machines can get busy fast but found it easiest during the day between checkout and check in. Close by many things we did during our time here and a pharmacy, McDonald’s, convenience store and market nearby. The only place I will stay when I come back to Kyoto!

The entry way to The BLOSSOM Kyoto really sets the mood and aesthetics of the establishment. Really appreciated the dimmed, serene vibes of the rock garden/live plants. Amenities were luxurious and well kept, and we really enjoyed the fact that the drink corner also offered decent matcha and hot chocolate beverages. The ice cream bars were a bonus. Highlight of the guest room was probably the shower--that water pressure was amazing. Also, easy walking distance from multiple attractions and train stations.

Absolutely unacceptable experience at this hotel. Our booking confirmation very clearly stated breakfast was included, yet we were forced to pay for it at checkout. Even worse, the staff initially confirmed free breakfast for two people, only to change their story once they realized there were three guests in the room. This inconsistency felt deliberately misleading and unfair. When I raised the issue, both the hotel and Booking.com kept passing responsibility back and forth, leaving us stuck in circles with no resolution. Instead of addressing the problem, the hotel simply hid behind “room only” technicalities and refused to take accountability for the way the booking was presented. This kind of treatment is extremely disappointing and unworthy of a hotel that presents itself as high-standard. Guests should be able to trust that what is confirmed in their booking will actually be honored. Sadly, this hotel failed on transparency, fairness, and basic hospitality. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for honesty or reliable service in Kyoto.

What an amazing experience! From the moment you arrived till you leave! The staff is absolutely courteous and kind! They made us feel so welcome! The rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable ! The room is equipment with everything you need! Location is perfect , 15 min walk from Kyoto station or 5 min can drive or 10 min with the subway! Get lost on the tiniest streets behind the hotel to eat with the locals or walk to the Main Streets for shopping!

There are lots of really great things about this hotel: the entrance is gorgeous and makes you feel like you're stepping into somewhere special; the rooms are well-designed, have big windows - ours was south-facing, looking out onto Kyoto Tower which lights up each night in a different colour! - and highly effective black out blinds; breakfast is good with lots of options for everyone (including surprisingly tasty gf rolls); the onsen is fantastic - relatively unique for a central Kyoto hotel - so relaxing after a busy day walking and sightseeing; and staff are, for the most part, warm & friendly. ||A few minor things we felt could be finessed: beds are just ok (a bit soft); there are plastic laminated signs with shouty lettering all over the hotel that look cheap and give an impression of finger wagging; there's a paucity of towels - you have to take the one in your room to the onsen changing room; the free drinks & snacks on offer in the basement are a nice touch but the space itself has a rather utilitarian feel; and finally we found some of the staff a little brusque keen to process you as quickly as possible at check-in, when purchasing breakfast.

Great ambiance, helpful staff, and actually comfortable (read: not firm) beds for Westerners compared to other hotels in Japan. Breakfast buffet was good. Laundry machines were easy to use and it was helpful to monitor their progress on the TV.

Our experience at the Blossom was in stark contrast to so many of the e positive reviews we read extensively before choosing this hotel. |This is a 3 star hotel, not a 4 star one. While the entrance is lovely, the hotel is on a very busy road, the breakfast is not good and the service is incredibly varied. While some employees at the front desk were very helpful, there were other employees (namely the breakfast restaurant area) that were extremely rude. There is no place to get a coffee in the morning other than an automatic machine in the basement that was broken and didn’t “open” until 6, the beds are comfortable but the “views” were of peoples dirty laundry or a wall from another building. This hotel doesn’t “feel” like Kyoto. Stay somewhere else.
