Kyoto Modern Terrace

We found this place by chance and went in for coffee and cake . Nice atmosphere with high ceilings, great outdoor views. We’ll be going back to try lunch soon.

This restaurant was amazing, 3.9 stars is nowhere close to reality, this is a 5 star place. The food was great, service unbelievable and a beautiful design. I recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto, to come to Modern Terrace.

Recommend to give it a try! The place high ceiling added the touch of posh and class to it. The food looks good and smell good. Only tried coffee n tart and they are great. It’s like a hidden gem amidst the park, shrine and all...

Interesting interior architecture and design. The food and service were good. The menu at lunch is limited. Our waiter was all smiles.

Course lunch is good, tempura in western fusion interpretation worth a michelin star ( others in course is 3 of5 stars) , vibe is irresistibly attractive and luxuriously cozy

A great place to enjoy a relaxed dinner. Interior design is just beautiful, plus the good food, and warm service. Not sure why there's not too much people here, maybe it's new, or the business is not welcomed in Kyoto?

December 2022: everything sensational really just a wonderful place to rest and enjoy good food and atmosphere and appropriately priced for the quality Very satisfied! Had the beef tongue curry & veggie pasta.

Service is super attentive, I only ever had sweets here and it’s always nice, the atmosphere too and it’s dog friendly on the terrace. It’s a bit more expensive than usual.

So I am sitting here drinking a local Kyoto beer looking over the park while my family shops in the bookstore down below - the staff is very helpful and the beer plus view are excellent - I would recommend this place for a nice afternoon break.
