Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton

This was a really exceptional stay. The rooms were so comfortable and beautiful. The location was great, esp for getting around and shopping at the outlet. And the service was excellent and very attentive. The immediate response every time we needed to use the shuttle was so helpful. The breakfast set up was perfect. We loved our stay in karuizawa and will be back!

Top level services provided here. Medium size hotel with quality amenity. Minibar is included. Very spacious room. Electric charger for electric car available. 5min drive to outlet. Walking distance to walking street.

Excellent service and helpful staff, especially appreciate the pick up car services from station to hotel. Spacious room and comfortable beds. The only thing is the central heater that a bit too warm but you can open the window to regulate the temperature.

Really a pleasure to stay here. Best is the service and kindness of staffs. Although the location is a bit far from train station, they provide shuttle services, which can even book by email! It also has a route to the ski park so that no worries in calling taxi. Walkable distance to the old Karuizawa street, plenty of restaurants makes the day easy. Perfect stay!

A good place to stay at karuizawa if you go by car. The breakfast is good but surprise to see that they didn't provide unlimited eggs (you have to order from the main menu and you can't have more than 2).

My frustration regarding my recent experience at this hotel. Upon arriving in the evening, unforetunately I discovered that I had mixed up the dates (by one day) for my two booked rooms. Despite having fully paid for the service and noticing that there were available rooms, the staff were unable to assist us. This left us in a difficult situation, forcing us to find another hotel in a rush. I understand that policies are in place, but given the circumstances, I was hoping for some flexibility or support in resolving the issue as a premium hotel brand. It’s disheartening as we have so much expectation to stay and the rooms are not cheap.

Update March 17, 2025 Unexplained snow storm this week. Felt cold but air is fresh. Hotel is one of the best: service, breakfast selection, clean room & drinks in the room. Dinner menu needs to change: almost the same last two years. I still love this hotel with their great hospitality. Visit this hotel again in May after Golden Week. Hotel still provides the best service and breakfast. If you are a vegetarian, you can enjoy fresh local vegetables in the morning and delicious local yogurt every morning. Lots of free drink in the room that I cannot finish 30%. I only hope they can change dinner menu & happy hours snack. I will come back in fall. May 10th. The hotel offers many services 1 free pick up & drop off from/to station. Please call them or email info@kyukaruizawa-kikyo.com 2 front desk, restaurant staff and drivers are super helpful & friendly. 3 the public bath is not natural hot spring. It can take ~15 to 20 people at the same time. Clean & switch male & female pool daily. 4 breakfast is very good. It is buffet + one main order. They all use location ingredients which is nice. French toast is fantastic. 5 happy hours from 5PM to 7:45PM. Offers local beer, wine and whiskey (Nagano area). Finger food is little weak (nuts + some small things). I ordered one dish or two dishes. Hamburger & fry are average. Beef & rice + steam veggies are excellent (local ingredients). 6 room is huge and excellent shampoo & location + free drinks in the mini bar. I can’t consume all of them ( one bottle of tea + two bottles of water are enough). Coffee is average & should get better beans. Definitely I will come back again.

Celebrating our 28th Wedding Anniversary and Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, the Curio Collection by Hilton made it a memorable occasion. From the special gift and room upgrade as a Diamond member, the cleanliness of the room and the facilities, amazing food, and to top all, the attentiveness of ALL employees to all customers. The moment, we drove up to the entrance, we were assisted in every way to make our check-in easy. |We arrived late but we were able to go to the executive lounge at the last minute. Although not properly dressed, as we came from hiking, we still got the same exceptional service from the servers. There was a time when we had to leave early for a hiking trip and could not make it for breakfast, they were able to provide us with fruits and nuts for our trip. I was also having a hard time looking for a place to have my hair done since I could not speak Japanese to make the reservation. Hiromi, one of the employees, helped me look for a place to accommodate me and she helped me with the reservations. The servers in the dining area are all very attentive and are always happy to serve. |The strength of the hotel is not only its facilities and location but also its people. We have never felt so much at home. Having traveled all over the world, this hotel made a huge difference in showing its customers what quality is all about. |We look forward to going back again.
