We (three families) booked an unpowered site at Kywong Caravan Park for four days after our Grampians trip was unexpectedly canceled. We received a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival. During our stay, we had an issue with our 95L fridge and needed to switch to a powered site. The staff were very accommodating, quickly upgrading one of our sites to a powered one, which was conveniently close to the others. The park has two clean and well-maintained toilet and shower blocks, especially impressive considering it was busy before New Year’s. The camp kitchen and laundry facilities were also spotless. The kids enjoyed the small playground, and we loved the abundant local wildlife. A great bonus was the Moos N Brews coffee truck, serving coffee for the adults and milkshakes for the kids from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. Overall, Kywong Caravan Park is a fantastic place to camp and a perfect base for exploring the local town of Nelson, the Glenelg River, and Portland. Highly recommended!

Fantastic spot. Great wildlife everyday. Blue wrens everywhere and kangaroos. Such a gem in the forest. We had a nice tour around the area. Nelson is a great place to stay for a while. Thank you to the hosts very welcoming. 😃

About 18 Members of the Ballarat Fly Fishers Club was at Kywong Caravan Park in Nelson, Victoria. It was perfect for for the members for accommodation, cooking, socially and fishing for Bream & Estuary Perch. ||All members enjoyed the time we were together. Some started on Thursday 23 whilst the bulk were present by the Friday 24 May. Some chose to depart on Sunday 26 May, whilst the bulk left on Monday 27 May. The weather was magnificent and the fishing was worthwhile. ||We hope to be back in the not to distant future. The new owners Nat and Sean treated us very well. We would recommend others interested for this wonderful Caravan Park

Kywong is a great location. Set amongst coastal bushland with abundant wildlife - birds, kangaroos, wallabies. There appears to be relatively new amenities to serve the unpowered sites. BUT the amenities serving the powered sites were not cleaned during the three nights of our stay. The security lock on the female amenities could not be locked. The male toilets smelled and the liquid soap had not been replenished. The windows were dirty and one of the lights was faulty.|Other parks charge similar fees and are much better presented.

Last minute stop in, they had a spot in an unpowered general camping area, which was perfect for us. Amenities were clean and showers were hot. Camp kitchen is also useful and clean. A few loud people over the way from us, but that can’t be helped over a long weekend.

We camped one night at Kywong Caravan Park as part of our Great South West Walk. Nat & Sean were delightful hosts and the park setting & its wildlife melded perfectly with our walk. We appreciated the use of the camp kitchen & were impressed by the range of sale items in the office that are suitable for long distance walkers. Thanks, Nat & Sean
