Camped here overnight. Perfect little spot. I was tucked away up the back on a non powered site with Kangaroo's all around. A bit of walk to amenities but if you love a quiet serene site with an abundance of nature around you, this is your spot.

The park is located in a beautiful bushland setting 1km from the 'main' centre of Nelson Village.|The cabins with ensuite are clean and comfortable. Greg and Vicki are exceptionally helpful. Going out of their way to ensure your stay is memorable. Highly recommended

We enjoyed a family stay here in late Jan 2025. Two parents and three kids in a two bed cabin with toilet/shower. Our in-laws were in a one bed cabin. |The surrounds are beautiful, especially the kangaroo’s that graze around the park at sunset. The BBQ facilities were great and the camp kitchen was functional and clean. |The river is within a 1min driving distance so perfect for boats/fishing which was the main activity for our family. |The cabin was standard fare. The dishes were a bit grubby from the previous occupants and there was a cleaning cupboard with a mouldy mop behind the shower. There was rubbish (ie beer bottle) under the bunk beds so a bit of extra maintenance between occupants would be welcomed. |My main gripe was the showers in the amenities block. There is a bar at the top of the entrance to the showers where I assume a shower curtain used to hang. Unfortunately the bar is quite low for an average height male but high enough for it to be out of eye sight. I accidentally scraped the top of my head against the bar which caused a gauge into the skin. It took a week or so for the scab/wound to heal. The bar is not required, so a quick removal by taking out a couple of screws would be welcomed. During the trip we also had a solar panel stolen from the top of our boat. This is no reflection on management. There was no security vision of the cabin/boat so no evidence of who took it. |We would stay here again. We would however be a little more alert for thieves + bars at entrances to showers.

Two couples booked 4 nights each in two cabins $800 . My wife injured her knee and we had to leave after 3 nights so she could seek medical help in Warrnambool. We requested a refund the night before we left and couldn’t get an answer, yes or no or we can get credit for a future stay . The answer for a refund or credit is no . Won’t be staying at Kyong ever again.

We (three families) booked an unpowered site at Kywong Caravan Park for four days after our Grampians trip was unexpectedly canceled. We received a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival. During our stay, we had an issue with our 95L fridge and needed to switch to a powered site. The staff were very accommodating, quickly upgrading one of our sites to a powered one, which was conveniently close to the others. The park has two clean and well-maintained toilet and shower blocks, especially impressive considering it was busy before New Year’s. The camp kitchen and laundry facilities were also spotless. The kids enjoyed the small playground, and we loved the abundant local wildlife. A great bonus was the Moos N Brews coffee truck, serving coffee for the adults and milkshakes for the kids from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. Overall, Kywong Caravan Park is a fantastic place to camp and a perfect base for exploring the local town of Nelson, the Glenelg River, and Portland. Highly recommended!

Last minute stop in, they had a spot in an unpowered general camping area, which was perfect for us. Amenities were clean and showers were hot. Camp kitchen is also useful and clean. A few loud people over the way from us, but that can’t be helped over a long weekend.
