We celebrated our wedding at the Kompaszaal on June 14, 2025 and it was an absolutely beautiful day! We were so happy with everything - the lovely space, the staff, the drinks, the terrace, the dance floor, and especially the food. Thank you to Jasper and Teodora for your help! We would absolutely recommend having your wedding (or any event) here!

A great place to celebrate…anything actually! In my case it was an EP release party on my birthday, so double celebration at this wonderful place! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and in preparation Jasper was always easy to reach! Go check it out!

After hearing about the location via the lindy hop dance scene, we decided to have our wedding ceremony here. We couldn't have picked a better place!
It's a gorgeous location that doesn't need any additional decoration or setting up (makes it well worth the price compared to a lot of other venues). They provided us with everything we needed and more than enough space for 100 guests.
I was also very happy that my bridesmaids and I could get dressed and ready in their dance room downstairs before the ceremony started.
For dinner, we arranged an affordable and easy meal through their kitchen (delicious falafel wraps!) and had fries and vegetarian bitterballen as snacks throughout the night.
Jasper, one of the venue owners, was also our DJ for the night and he did an amazing job.
We also got lucky with such beautiful weather so that we could enjoy the amazing view and sunset off of the IJ river. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful location.

While the food is not special, the whole restaurant is seemingly direct from 1960. Friendly staff and lovely views, a mesmerizing aquarium, all in a super retro atmosphere.
