Very cute place with delicious breakfast and pastries. I had a breakfast sandwich and a cup of chai latte. Sandwich is very good with croissant bread and silky fluffy eggs inside. The chai latte is over sweet but the taste is pretty nice. I also love the atmosphere here, but it’s a little bit too squeezed. The service is nice but a little bit slow.

Cute little cafe with beautiful decor and indoor and outdoor patio seating. Went there with a good old neighbor of mine. We did enjoy the vibe and the ambiance. The waitress was attentive and suggested some menu items which turned out to be great I loved cold potato soup with links which felt really refreshing and light on the hot summer day we were having. The salad was fresh and tasty and the bread with goat cheese oh so fresh. The desert isn’t only good but absolutely beautifully presented. Will definitely be back for almonds croissants 🥐 they are favorite 🥖🥖🍲🍲

Had the raspberry tart, the royal, and a parisian breakfast sandwich with a cappuccino. The food and coffee are sooo good. Will definitely be coming back for breakfast again!

Versaille is a lovely hidden gem tucked away in a strip mall in Encinitas. The decor is adorable and service was warm and friendly. The food was so high quality, you could tell that they use premium ingredients. I loved everything that I ate. The spinach and goat cheese quiche included a huge slice of goat cheese and was so fluffy, flavorful and tasty. The eggs Benedict had perfectly poached eggs and the potatoes were the right amount of crispiness. The pastries were decadent and so yummy. Overall a wonderful experience, I wouldn't hesitate to return!

Wow! What a great find! We were down in this part of Encinitas and found Versailles Cafe through Google Maps. So glad we stopped in. The coffee is perfection, the food is fresh and well prepared, the produce is ripe and selected with care. Incredible! Everything was delicious. Cute decor with lovely indoor outdoor seating options. You do feel as though you’ve found a tiny piece of French Heaven right here in north county! Even the chairs are right. This is a perfect stop for a quick coffee (of all sorts) and an amazing pastry, or stay awhile and enjoy a meal. Service was friendly and warm. Drinks and food arrived quickly with beautiful presentation. Portions are generous. We will definitely be back! I cannot wait to try the almond croissant everyone is raving about - but seriously ANYTHING here will be amazingPS - I will photograph the menu next visit and update this review.💛💛

Simply the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had. That sprinkle of paprika on top is just chef’s kiss. I’ve also enjoyed the smoked salmon savory crepe and the pastries are quite good too. Some of the desserts are very sweet so I would share it with a friend. The pistachio cloud is very good.

Such a charming little café with real French vibes! We come here for breakfast all the time, and everything is just amazing—from the drinks to the Eggs Benedict. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. And don’t even get me started on the desserts… if you love French pastries, this place is a dream. Lol. Highly recommend it for a romantic breakfast or just a cozy, delicious start to your day with that special French touch!

This French pastry shop and cafe is too cuuute for it's own good. My Yelp rating is 5 stars. Here are my justifications... 1 star for the cozy atmosphere 2 stars for the decor 3 stars for the staff's customer service 4 stars for the timely service 5 stars for the delicious food options I strongly recommend this bakery cafe shop whenever at the El Camino Promenade. Get ready for the real French experience!

Let's start with the food: the sandwiches were amazing. They were made with fresh ingredients, were flavorful, and were well crafted--overall, they were great lunch options. The pancakes, especially for kids, were a bit off, especially given the included citrus undertones, but that is normal for French food. The service could have been faster, and we waited about 12 minutes after seating before anyone came over to talk to us, so that was the big downside.

Just wanted a quick coffee for the road and found this place. We went in and saw the "please wait to be seated" sign and we thought "oh, it's like a sit-down place?". But no, you can order your coffee to go. So we did. And it was goooood coffee. We also ordered a treat, a chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon roll. The cookie was a delicious treat but the cinnamon roll....let me say something about the cinnamon roll. I'm used to a cinnamon roll that is doused in frosting...probably so much frosting to cover up the boring pastry part. So that's kind of what I was expecting with this one. The cinnamon roll from Versailles Cafe didn't have tons of frosting...and the pastry portion was flakier than i'm used to...but let me tell you....it was the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. No lie. No joke. No exaggeration. While we waited for our order to be ready, the lady who took our order in the first place spoke to one of the customers...IN FRENCH! Add that to some of the most visually stunning pastries in the glass case i've ever seen, and I would say this place WALKS THE WALK AND TALKS THE TALK! I can't wait to stop in again and try some other menu items. LEGIT French cafe and bakery. LEGIT.

We visited Versailles yesterday and had a great experience. The food was fantastic, the service was friendly, and the pastries were phenomenal. My husband is gluten free and I am vegetarian and both got galettes for brunch. They were so well made that we felt like we had been transported to Paris. Having French wines on the menu is also a really nice touch. We picked a bottle of a semi dry white and it complemented the meal nicely. For those that are gluten free, 4 or 5 of the pastries in the display are gluten free!

We came here around noon and it was crowded inside. We decided to sit on the patio which was super cute. The tables had light pink placemats with a lovely texture to them. The tables and chairs looked very parisien. It's been 1 year since I've been here and the prices have went up slightly, but it is still so much better than other French Patisseries/Cafes! The ginger haired worker allowed us to order at the counter where we got our Oranais (an apricot pastry $6) & the Pain Aux Raisins (a raisin roll $6). He was welcoming and kind. The Oranais aux abricots is a pastry that I haven't had before. It's a new favorite!! The pastry is cooked perfectly and probably has an apricot glaze on top for that beautiful shine. The apricots are plump and sweet, not grainy or soggy. The pastry cream is smooth and delicious too. The pastry has beautiful layers as well! This time they didn't ask if we wanted the pain aux raisins to be warmed up, but it's ok. It was as big as the plate and had ample amounts of raisins. I love the depth of flavor the raisins had. It was beautifully caramelized and had a lovely shine to the top. A very delicious pastry that is big enough to share. I highly recommend this spot! For breakfast, for lunch, a little sweet treat or some iced lattes. It is really delicious.

I was shopping at TJMAXX  in El Camino Promenade, then on my way out I saw Versailles Cafe and pastries. I decided to go with my family to have some French pastries. I was very impressed with the beauty of the place and the qualities of the pastries and the desserts they have. We ordered many pastries and desserts to try there and took some to our hotel, we got; -Oranais Apricot Croissant - Chocolate Eclair - Raspberry Eclair - Vanilla Eclair - Royal - Spring Blossom - Coconut Macarons Everything was exquisite. The service was top notch. The vibe was charming and relaxing. We hadn't had the chance to try their sandwiches in the first visit.We stopped again for two consecutive days to try their sandwiches and more pastries. For the next visits, we ordered for lunch; -Parisian sandwich with salad -Veggie sandwich with fries -Croque Monsieur with salad -Vanilla eclair -2 iced raspberry truffle lattes Then, we also got some desserts to go: - Pear Tartlet - Pistachio Cloud - Chocolate Eclair - Chocolate Truffles Bites - Coconut Macarons The sandwiches were perfectly delicious, from bread to filling to seasoning to fresh salads. Everything was exquisite! The iced raspberry Truffle lattes were outstanding! I am fond of all the desserts and the pastries. Everything was Phenomenal! The sweet girls we dealt with went above and beyond to serve us. They were smiling and very attentive . We had quality time in our visits. I don't mind to drive to Encinitas to have a nice breakfast / lunch and enjoy the great food, excellent service and the welcoming vibes.

Versailles is one of our favorite places for brunch in Encinitas. Everything is delicious and the croissants are the best. The staff is very friendly and service is very fast. You won't be disappointed.

I recently visited Versailles Cafe and Pastries with my family to indulge in some French treats, and I was thoroughly impressed. We tried a variety of items, including the Spring Blossom, Chocolate Croissant, Summer Delight, and Parisian Sandwich. Everything was absolutely exquisite. I recently visited Versailles Cafe in Encinitas, and it's a gem! The space is beautiful with plenty of parking, and I loved the pink accents in the interior. There's a charming indoor-outdoor space that's perfect for relaxing. I was thrilled to find chouquettes here, and they didn't disappoint, such a rare treat in San Diego! I also tried the Oranais, which was pretty good. The dessert display is stunning with lots of choices, and the service was nice too. I'll definitely be returning to try more!

When you come in you have to wait to be seated. Also note that they have paper menu, but also they have a different menu for drinks on top of the wall which I didn't realize until afterwards. They also have a little mini menu on the counter, black chalkboard.. I mainly came here for the desserts, I tried the spring blossom and it was pretty good. I wasn't completely convinced with the darker jelly that's inside. I'm going to try the mango dessert next.

This is really great French fare. We thoroughly enjoyed every fresh bite. The service was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Lots of yummy desserts and wine is served. Yay!The dining room was well lit with natural light and fresh air from the open doors. We will definitely be back. We love it.

Here for a breakfast and pleasantly surprised! The pastries are amazing and the other food is delicious. Had one of the many omelets offered and it was big and tasted fresh. They are also willing to accommodate dietary restrictions. Great menu! Very French and nice ambience with the pink and black color and much attention to detail. It was a very pleasing atmosphere and particularly perfect for a meal during the week where it was quiet enough you could actually hold a conversation. The portions are generous so you get what you pay for and then some compared to many restaurants today. Service was great and you can dine in or take out. Small patio dining area. Stumbled across this scrumptious cafe while vacationing in Encinitas. It's tucked away in a shopping plaza about 5-10 away from the beaches & botanic garden. Food came out quickly and the waitress was kind and spoke with a French accent! Oh la La! The almond croissant reminded me of my trip to Paris, and everything on the menu sounded legitimately French. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Love the macarons! Got a box for my mother-in-law for her birthday and she said they were "to die for". Very cute spot. Service was nice and would be interested in trying more of their food!

Versailles Cafe is an absolute gem; the owner is French- and it shows in the authenticity of the pastries, croissants and food. The cinnamon roll is the best I've found in Southern California- no joke. It is flaky, and buttery, and BURSTING with PLENTY of cinnamon... i can't wait to come back just for that cinnamon roll! The Jesuite pastry is delectable, and the almond croissant was wonderful! The salade Nicoise was amazing; we had Salade Nicoise in Nice, France recently- and this salad was even better than the one we had in Nice! The Florentine Omelette was delicious. For me- this place is worth the drive! I come from an hour away on the way to the beach! Best pastries ever! The quad-shot Latte was excellent. Staff was warm and friendly!

Food is good. Service is decent. Easy no frills meal. Came here for quick grub one morning and ordered an eggs Benedict and a croissant sandwich. Both came with sides. The food came out pretty fast and portion size was decent and the flavors was delicious. Very traditional French cooking, true to form. We also got a Nutella croissant and that was incredible. Not sure how healthy it is but I went straight to sleep after eating that meal. It's a order at the counter place, so not much service if any. It's a small cafe, no frills.

Food is ok but service is ridiculously slow and the tables are DIRTY. Probably nice for a pastry but wouldn't recommend to sit down and eat

This has become my favorite little spot to have a girly me moment and grab a quick, light lunch or breakfast. It's like stepping into a Parisian escape. The food, coffee, desserts and pastries are amazing and high quality. I've had the veggie frittata, the Brie and French Ham sandwiches, plus countless macaroons and croissants/lattes to go. All incredible! Give this spot a try, you will love it!

Stephanie and the staff at Versailles always go above & beyond from start to finish. This hidden gem is not only delicious but it's so much more...and you just have to experience it. Whatever is going on in the day, I always know I can come here, feel welcome, feel satiated, and leave feeling better than when I came in! So grateful

We were there for 15 minutes and no one came to ask if we wanted to order drinks only because we had to run down a server. Slow service! Tried the cafe au lait and it tasted like muddy water. I ordered a chicken sandwich w/aioli & pesto. The chicken was bland and the aioli tasted like plain mayo. Our server did not check up on us until we were done eating.

The food in Versailles is always really delicious, the workers there are super nice, and they always keep their restaurant tidy and clean. I cannot recommend enough.

Great coffee, delicious pasties and wonderful service. The decor inside was adorable and the seating outside was nice a clean. We chose to sit outside because we brought our dog. Everything was just delightful. We will definitely come back here when we return to Encinitas.

This cute little place was one of my first stops when I came to Encinitas. Really good food, great service, they adjusted my order to what I wanted, and their pastries are amazing.

Nice brunch on a Saturday late morning. Tried litchi rose almond milk latte, good! Crepe, a little dry, had to use syrup which I normally avoid. Great summer salad with watermelon strawberries pecans avocado cucumber, arugula- large in size, fresh delicious, highly recommend. Pistachios croissant was tasty, the best of what I ordered. My friend had what he described as "probably the best cinnamon roll I've ever had", plus a great mocha latte and a pick 3 breakfast sandwich: egg avocado spinach on croissant, good, tasty came with perfectly cooked rosemary potatoes. We had plenty left over to take away. Pleasant prompt service, no wait for a table nor to order.

Bonne année et bon appétit! My girlfriends' and my first ladies-only (sorry, hubbies and sig-os :P) brunch of the New Year and our lovely hostess decided to make it French-themed. In honor of Epiphany, we had Galette des Rois (King Cake - the traditional, not Mardi Gras, version!) but while the puff pastry exterior was wonderfully flaky, the marzipan interior was not as flavorful as we hoped. Versaille's ridiculously oversized pastries, particularly its indulgent almond croissants filled with sweet pastry cream, satisfied everyone's sugar cravings, while my favorite savory option of the party was the decadently rich goat cheese and spinach quiche topped with slices of brie, balanced perfectly by a lightly dressed, simple mixed salad. I found the baguette bread of the lunch sandwiches slightly dry and hard for my taste, making them a bit difficult to eat without the filling falling out everywhere, but loved the softer breads used in the breakfast sammies.

Our new favorite spot for coffee, croissants and breakfast. Everything here was so much better than all the coffee shops in the area, including the pricing. Great service, welcoming cafe vibe and decor and absolutely wonderful coffee and food.

Versailles cafe is a little piece of France nestled in Encinitas. The staff are extremely attentive, always smiling and eager to please. They even let me practice my French!.. But oh the food, the pastries, the coffees, the mimosas (yes, they have a liquor licence) Ooh La La! So good! Nothing beats sitting al fresco for a good feed with my dog sat at my feet. Try it!

Looks like they took over the last French cafe in this location. Wasn't sure what to expect but it was so pleasant to not have any disappointments. The girls who work here are very pleasant and welcoming. The food is delicious and the coffee is nice and strong. There are seats inside and outside. This will most definitely be one of my regular spots.

Food--absolute freshness, gently defined flavors, especially luncheon veggie & brie sandwiches. Baguettes among the best in San Diego Area. French Butter presented in tiny tubes (adorbz). Service----we went @ an unfettered time , prior to noon, yet, sadly, dishes remained on our small table over 19 mins or more. 1st server, w/long ponytail, was endearing & successfully charmed our table. We were unsure why there was a shady reception from the other staff/cashier? Lady in pink apron, baking was outrageously helpful, explained a few of their tempting sweets. Thank you. Ambience--adorably roomy inside & out . Loved that The Great Brittish Bake Off was on their, unobtrusive TV. Parking is nearby w/plenty of wide spaces & handicapped

The food was delicious, the best croissant I've had outside of France. The server was attentive but didn't rush me at all. I will definitely be back again.

Very good and authentically French in more ways than one. French culinary school is on the adjacent side of the building and connects to the cafe and serves as their kitchen. The cafe itself has lots of classic pastries on display. I got a raspberry tart, the raspberries & crust were good however the custard lacked flavor. My breakfast croissant was very good as the croissant was delicious. I appreciate that they allow lots of options for toppings. Surprisingly the showstopper for me was my side of rosemary potatoes! Absolutely delicious and had a great roasted crust on them!! Swoon!

I lived in Germany and Switzerland for around 6 years combined, and Croissants didn't really move me...but European croissants are WORSE than those made here, and I've been utterly converted! Holy moly. There's a weight a gravity to this Nutella croissant that is hard to describe and can only be felt, the flavor is perfectly flaky, nutty and airy. Everything was just right. Great job!

Super cute inside and out to sit! Today I ordered the soup of the day which was a mushroom soup along with a vanilla matcha latte!! IN LOVE, BOTH COMFORTING ITEMS ESPECIALLY SINCE IT WAS CLOUDY WEATHER OUT

I love their pastries. The almond croissant and Nutella croissant are my kid's favorites! The French Toast is absolutely divine and the breakfast sandwich is also delicious. If you need a yummy treat, this is a great place to stop!

With an ownership change, I was worried about the choice and quality of food. In short, very very happy with the updated menu and quality. Even better than before. Love the addition of smoked salmon for breakfast items and impressed with new combinations for the omelets like brie, mushrooms and spinach. The salmon Benedict was awesome! Perfect eggs, smoked salmon just right (not overly salty or sweet) and just the right amount, potatoes were soft and tasty. Service was wonderful and delightful. Congratulations! We'll definitely be back as regulars.

The food and pastry's are always on point. My reason for the 3 stars is the service. All 4 times I've been to this restaurant the employees have been rude and condescending. There is zero urgency to get food out in a timely manner. When I asked where our food was to girl up front I was treated like an annoyance. Not sure my family will be back. It's disappointing as we just moved to this area and like to support local businesses... but I won't support a business that treats their customers like this.

GREAT service and value. Everybody in our party of six was very happy with their drinks and their meals. I wasn't enjoying my matcha latte with almond milk and our server remade it for me with 2% milk, without hesitation and with such eagerness to make sure I was happy. The food was delicious and fresh, with lots of options. We sat outside where it was nice and cool, but had to go back in to grab a box of macaroons and other desserts for the road.

One thing for sure, those first few days and weeks were crucial during that transition. Those initial relationships could really determine your social circles for years to come. Well we are quite pleased to announce that "Versailles Cafe & Pastries" became the new kid in town just two months ago and we'd recommend that you welcome them into your social circles. Honestly it's hard to find something NOT to like about our new friend. Our breakfast items were good and offered a bonus...pastries! The pastry options were not extensive, but they are prepared on site daily and feature deep relationships (Chocolate Eclair) and new acquaintances (Chouquettes). When you stop by to introduce yourself and welcome this new friend to the neighborhood, make sure to give yourself time to do this right. This is the kind of friend that you'll plan to still have in your life years from now. Whether it is the ambiance being accentuated by the staff speaking French to one another, or the French music playing in the background, you're gonna want to hang out here for a while. We found ourselves feeling so comfortable we helped bus our own table and nearly hugged two employees before leaving. If you haven't been here, you must go. Every single bite was so enjoyable that I felt like I took a trip to France with just a short drive from my home. The ambiance is charming and authentic, making you feel as though you're sitting in a quaint café in France. The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who made the experience even more delightful. From the freshly baked croissants to the rich, aromatic coffee, everything was perfect. I am going to make this my new go-to place for breakfast, brunch, or any time I want to indulge in a little slice of France. Highly recommend!

I just had the most AWFUL service at a place that is reviewed well. After waiting 30 minutes + for my food the soup and eggs came to us COLD. The staff said "we cant control the kitchen" and that they were busy. When I handed back the eggs, which I tasted the waitress put her finger in the food and told me "its not cold". This will be the last time I go there...too bad.

Poor service. Macarons taste like a hand full of powdered sugar no flavor and Matcha was not good. Omelet was the only thing decent but nothing special.

Avoid this place!! Went here on a Saturday late afternoon around 4 pm. Place was not busy at all. There were 2 people inside and 98% empty tables. There was signage everywhere that you please wait to be seated. This was posted outside and inside as well. We showed up and waited patiently inside. A waitress behind the counter greeted us and then ignored us. Both she and another waiter came towards the front and both ignored us. We stood there several minutes and were never seated. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. We left and took our business elsewhere. Will never return.
