"Strategically located on Paris' famed Avenue Montaigne, a short walk to Céline or Saint Laurent or the Grand Palais (home to many Paris Fashion Week shows), L'Avenue is the place to get a glimpse of Rihanna or Kim Kardashian or eavesdrop on a juicy industry conversation. You come for the gossip and the celeb sightings, not the overpriced food and ornate decor."

I thing that this place is a must when in Paris and you are trying to be in a place where social media stars and who is who of this world is gathering. But if you are a gourmet in search for great food and amazing service please consider coming here. There must be a science behind having so many people working in service yet letting Your guests wait so long. Also even if it’s common in Paris the people working here were a bit to arrogant towards guests! They even started a fight with other guest. Food was ok , wine also , but after seeing this place once I am pretty sure that next time I’ll rather try other places Paris has to offer .

Google
Don’t waste your time here. The food is mediocre and priced unreasonably high. There is no main dish under 40 euros and even the salads are 30 euros. Those prices are acceptable for exceptional food, but there are so many restaurants with better food and much more reasonable prices that you are better off going elsewhere. Please for your own good don’t come here

If you want to eat and drink like a local, ignore the bad reviews and come here! Lovely place, located near the Dior museum. The rigatoni were delicious and the espresso martini was really well made! It is almost necessary to book a table and please take your time and don’t be in a rush with service. The staff is amazing and they all look like they are straight from the runway! Prices are on the higher end.

L’Avenue is one of those iconic spots in Paris that you just can’t skip. It’s not just a restaurant, it’s an experience. Every time I visit Paris, I make sure to pass by at least twice for lunch or dinner. The food is genuinely good and while it’s definitely overpriced, you’re in Paris and the vibe makes it worth it. What really sets L’Avenue apart is the scene. You could be casually enjoying your meal and suddenly find yourself sitting next to a celebrity. The place is a magnet for stars and stylish crowds. The waiters? Basically models. They’re not only stunning but also super friendly and professional. If you’re looking for a mix of great ambiance, people watching, and that chic Parisian glamour, L’Avenue is a must.

L’Avenue at 41 Avenue Montaigne is a Parisian icon—and my recent dinner experience only solidified its legendary status. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with elegance and impeccable service from our server, Hajar, who orchestrated the evening with grace and attention to detail. Each course was a harmonious blend of French tradition and culinary artistry: 🥂 Drinks • A refined start with a glass of Meursault JD and Chablis LP, both exceptional selections for Burgundy lovers. • A crisp 1664 and refreshing Badoit Verte kept the ambiance fresh and classic. 🍽️ Entrées • The Spicy Catica was a standout—vibrant flavors with a perfect balance of heat and depth. • Nems Poulet brought a playful twist to the appetizer menu, marrying French and Asian influences with finesse. • Escargots Extra—a quintessential French dish—were beautifully executed and rich in garlic herb butter. 🍰 Desserts • The Brioche Perdu with Framboise was decadent, nostalgic, and perfectly balanced. • The Petit Pot Vanille offered a delicate finish—subtle, creamy, and luxurious. L’Avenue remains one of Paris’ finest tables for those who value world-class hospitality, haute cuisine, and a timeless setting just steps from the fashion houses of Avenue Montaigne.

Amazing quality food and a rich and beautiful atmosphere. Go on a sunny day and expect to dine amongst locals and travelers who know the hotspots. The price is on the higher end but it’s worth it. Grab a bottle of wine and order some dishes for a long lunch. You may even see a celebrity or two. The dishes are all amazing. We always get the ceviche and tartare. The frites are always perfect while enjoying a glass of wine and the pastas are top notch. The service is fantastic but make a reservation the day before bc it’s tough to get a walk in and sit outside.

Google
Great restaurant with good food, wine and vibe but I can’t give it a 5 star rating due to the attitude of the waitress. Had the Chateau fillet which is definitely recommended!

My wife and I ate here for dinner twice because it was amazing. It was as if the prerequisite to work here was to be amazingly friendly, customer focused with your own sense of style and unique beauty. Everyone who worked here was great! I had the steamed salmon(some of the best I've ever had) mashed potatoes and spinach, all super good. My wife had the crab salad and she enjoyed it very very much, drinks were on point. L'Avenue is also located right across the street from Tiffany's. So gentlemen, do what I did, ask your lady to keep your cocktail cold and run across the street and grab her a piece of jewelry! After a great dinner and a nice piece of neckwear, you will definitely score points, especially after 30 years of marriage for me! L'Avenue is a 100% recommendation!

Yelp
I had a nice lunch at L'Avenue after shopping. It's not as touristy but very chic and cute. The service and atmosphere were great and the food was good! I'd def go back.

Yelp
Busy trendy brasserie in the center of Paris, delicious food and an upscale crowd. A nice place for lunch or dinner

Yelp
My first few experiences here over the years were pretty good. My husband and I really enjoy the filet steak. Service is always below par especially since it's a tipping environment. I never expect the service to be good here & I always tip regardless of standard practice for the area but not when the service and food both suck or we get completely forgotten about. Our most recent visit was by far the worst service I've ever had. Our food was gross. Came out so fast I almost wondered if it was even fresh. My partners steak was over done. Our server went MIA. I had to ask the hostess to get our drinks delivered about 15 minutes AFTER the food came out. Then I had to ask the manager a second time to get my drink (by this time it's been almost an hour since I ordered it) By the end I just felt bad for the staff honestly. The manager did her best to fix the situation. But I don't know if I will be back. Maybe I didn't look rich enough because I wasn't costumed in logos head to toe. Sad because this place has just turned into a tourist trap. Not even worth it.

Yelp
L'avenue is a classic French bistro on the posh Avenue Montaigne. The food is good, the service is adequate. It's kind of a tourist trap but it should be expected for the area. I did really enjoy the escargot and would recommend it.

Casa Cuba Fencing C.

Yelp
Loved the food, ambience and service! I went with my son and some friends and we had a great time together.

Yelp
I adore this place. It's glamorous, very French bistro style with an Eiffel Tower and landmark Dior views. I liked sitting outside and people watching and taking in the atmosphere. Reasonable wine list, great food menu and surprisingly pleasant service. It's just a very cool place. They start you with olives and small breads with your drinks. I choose the lobster frites and loved every bite after having a small fear that it could be bad but expensive tourist food. My friend had a chicken dish with some nice looking potato mash/purée. I truly enjoyed myself and the beautiful surrounding streets. Wonderful location. I loved every moment of this experience.

Yelp
AMAZING!!! We went for lunch and sat upstairs in a very cute area by the balcony, very French vibes. The food was spectacular. It was one of my favorite things we ate on our trip. It was unexpectedly very very good (I didn't have any expectations, but definitely wanted to try). I heard great things and it lived up to it. We mostly got seafood but it was BOMB. We got smoked salmon, egg rolls, dumplings, tuna tartar. I can just remember how tasty it all was as I am writing this. I highly recommend coming here and enjoying your lunch!
google avatar

Amarie C.

Yelp
The service and food here were great. The Risotto and shrimp dish was to die for! Drinks were great and street view was awesome. Must try if you're in Paris.
google avatar

Ted K.

Yelp
Service is included at this restaurant, but the waitresses will try and get a tip by telling you it isn't included if you speak English. I've eaten there twice and they tried the same scam both times. I won't be back. Avoid at all costs. There are plenty of honest places nearby.
google avatar

Azizi A.

Yelp
Excellent food, drinks, service, menu, and ambiance- inside and out. I couldn't ask for more.. I would return.
google avatar

Nicole Z.

Yelp
This was the lobster pasta. It was OK nothing special. The wait was not too long. Service sucked. Definitely an overrated place. I wouldn't recommend going there. Such better places in Paris to go then here.

Regina M.

Yelp
We decided to try this place after our visit to Dior which is across the street. Everything started off great. Waitress was nice but got my 2 orders wrong, once she brought back the food, 1 was over cooked and she knew it but never came back to check, once I was finally able to stopped her she came with the manager who then refused to adjust the bill. The atmosphere and drinks were average but service and accommodation were horrible.
google avatar

Tina L.

Yelp
Just walked in here to get out of the rain and was pleasantly surprised with the food here. We ordered the shrimp risotto and fries, both were good. I would have preferred the shrimp cooked a bit less. Service meh. Hostesses stuck up.

Yelp
My second time in Paris, first time eating @ L'Avenue. The place is cute, trendy and conveniently located in the high end shopping areas. Celine, Louis Vuitton and Dior are meters away (which is the highlight of 8th arrondissement.) My first time have escargot and it wasn't too bad. We also ordered foie gras, which was ok. Our server chose a nice red wine to accompany our dinner. We were seated upon arrival and stay until the restaurant closed.
google avatar

Yelp
A place to see and be seen. If you dress ostentatiously (and if you're hot), they'll give you a seat on the patio. My companion and I were seated upstairs by the bathroom... The escargot appetizer was flavorful (savory oil and pesto?) and more importantly, fresh. The bread is kinda trash, so don't waste your calories. You're better off ordering a side of fries. Dijon mustard to dip, of course. Can't lie, the beef tartare was incredible. The rawish meat was prepared with the perfect amount of salt. Side of toast did the trick, but I'd recommend they replace it with sourdough toast instead. My companion enjoyed the sea bass as well, but we went for lunch so I stuck to cold food. Salads looked pretty good, too. We nursed some hair of the dog wine, and I also sipped on a pisco sour. I've had better, but what can you expect? It's not a Peruvian restaurant, after all. All in all, the food here was overpriced but tasty nonetheless. If you're looking to spend your hard earned money on a masterful culinary experience, I suppose you can find better.

Yelp
I'd heard this place was great for both people watching and for the food, so we gave it a go when we were in Paris. I can't tell you about the people watching as they shoved us upstairs away from a lot of the hustle and bustle, but the food was ok. To be honest, when we saw the prices, and actually realised we still weren't totally hungry yet, we only had an entree each, but what we had was nice. I had the heart of smoked salmon and blinis and they were good, but nothing outstanding. The service was ok, though when they gave us bread to start with, there was no plate or anything, and we inevitably made a mess on the tablecloth. The one thing I personally found disgusting - might be an unpopular opinion - but they let a couple bring their dog upstairs to be at the table with them. I'm sorry, but if you do that at home, that's fine, but don't do it in a restaurant; it's not necessary. Overall, I wouldn't come back again. I've done it once and that was enough. I don't get the hype, but to the "cool kids" and the Instagrammers, they'll get it. If you're in town long enough, then give it a try, but if you're short on time there are plenty of other great restaurants to eat at. The service was mixed, but again, nothing to write home about, in my honest opinion.
google avatar

Yelp
L'Avenue was honestly disappointing. Considering the fact that it's been around for so long I was expecting much more. The ambiance was definitely upscale, and it was nice for sure. The service was slow, but friendly. It was nice that they fit our large party of 10 (reserved only a day in advance). So you might be wondering... why the 3 star? Well the food was just not that good. I didn't get pictures of nearly everything we ordered. My favorite was either the rigatoni mushroom pasta or the sea bass. However, the pasta was extremely buttery and cheesy. And the sea bass was also extremely buttery. The smoked salmon was also not great, my friend sent it back. Overall, I think L'Avenue is extremely overrated and not worth the wait or the money. I'd give somewhere else a try before L'Avenue. There are many other restaurants in the area.

William A.

Yelp
Went for lunch after shopping. Food was outstanding. I could eat the Morel pasta every week. Melon Feta salad also delicious. Incredibly crowded and overly arrogant patrons in a "look at me" part of the city.
google avatar

Antonia F.

Yelp
The food is just ok and actually came out a little cold, the service is below average, and the food is definitely overpriced. However, we still enjoyed our visit to this Paris staple. We sat outside and enjoyed dinner and people watching with a view of the Eiffel tower. If you go, don't go for an amazing meal, but more so for the experience.
google avatar

Yelp
It's the place for lunch in Paris, heaving with good looking people including waitresses. I was so happy that my favorite spicy lobster pasta is available today- last time it wasn't!- we share smoke salmon as an appetizer. It was great, noted thick cut compared to thee one in the states, almost eating salmon sashimi. Spicy lobster pasta is my top three all time favorite pasta. My BF had seabass with curry sauce which was amazing- I had a bite- yummy. Highly recommend for food and people watching!!

Danielle W.

Yelp
It was nice to people watch. Saw a celebrity there during the Olympics. It's a classy spot, upscale, near all the designer shops. The food is a bit overrated though. However you can definitely find clean and healthy menu options.

Yelp
Terrible service, extremely rude staff. I made a reservation here days in advance and my entire party walked out because of the way we were treated. When we first walked in, we asked if we could be seated outdoors (there were several empty tables). The hostess (whose name was Maliyah) immediately started yelling at us, saying that it is not possible because "it will rain soon". We said that's okay. She still refused. It did not rain the rest of the night. She took us upstairs and seated us at a table in the back end of the restaurant, secluded from everybody. Again, we asked if we could be moved to a better table in the other room. She rudely responded "you do not have a reservation". We reminded her that we did. She pretended to go check the other room and came back, very rudely yelling at us, saying it's not possible and we can either sit or leave. I told her we are paying customers, and she needs to speak to us with respect. She started yelling at us in French, and was waving a knife and fork in my face. When we sat, my friend (who speaks French) told me that she was threatening to call security on us. We notified our waitress of what happened. She apologized (not her fault). We got up and left. I will never dine here, and I will ensure that my friends and family are aware that Arabs and Muslims are disrespected here. If you are looking for restaurants in Paris with delicious food, excellent service and great vibes, try Girafe, Gigi, CoCo and Matsuhisa. Don't waste your time or your money here.
google avatar

Kim R.

Yelp
The food is average & the prices are extortionate, but if you want some good people watching, posh surroundings & you've got some money to burn, this is the place to go!
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
I love this restaurant and always come for lunch when I'm in Paris. It's in a great location on a beautiful street and the food never disappoints. I recommend making a reservation but I think they are pretty good at seating walk-ins. Beautiful restaurant with good food and service, highly recommend coming here on your next visit to Paris!

Robert R.

Yelp
Food was very average and service was slow. Was scammed by waiter as service fee is included and he scammed me in recommending a 14 Euro tip. Was very disappointed and would NOT recommend this place
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Walked by this place four times this past week, I wanted to see what the hype was about. It didn't disappoint. I had the eggplant (aubergine) with burrata for starters and omelette with cèpes mushrooms. Very tasty. I also had some pisco sour for cocktails. Not bad. It seems as if every server is an aspiring runway model. Very stylish outfits. Located across the street from the Dior store. Highly advisable to get reservations unless you are a solo diner
google avatar

Aren A.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Lovely drinks. Went two days in a row and the hostess was laughing a little the second day when she saw us. ( and you know french people dont laugh) the morel mushroom pasta is out of this world. Did I mention they have great cocktails?
google avatar

Kasie G.

Yelp
We have been in Paris for 3 days. We have been to many other restaurants once. We have been here (3X) bc it's THAT amazing. From breakfast to Cocoktails to dinner Apps and even Sorbet....EVERYTHING was AMAZING and fresh!
google avatar

Mike A.

Yelp
Above average. Elevated french brassiere with a classy atmosphere. Both the food and service were great. Classics like escargot and french onion soup are simply amazing. You pay a little more here but they definitely deliver.
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
Amazing meal - l'avenue continues to deliver. My wife and I got engaged here 17 yrs ago and were excited to share a meal here with our kids. Great food and wine throughout the whole meal. Eleanor our server made the night for us - super attentive to our needs and just added to our special night. Thank you again for a wonderful meal and a spot that we will always hold special
google avatar

Shah K.

Yelp
Way overpriced for the food you get! If you can skip this place do it! The service is ok nothing special and the place is just a standard restaurant! You can get way better food for what you're paying here

Outspokenn L.

Yelp
LOVE IT!! Pay no mind to the bad reviews during the week at least when I went for dinner. The seabass was the best dish I had while visiting Paris. Our waitress was the best, although she did ask for a tip which lacked etiquette. Best advice is to wait we was going to tip you way more than we did. Don't only downfall but other than that we had reservations and sat down immediately. Would 100% recommend this spot to anyone visiting Paris.

Miss M.

Yelp
Overrated The chicken curry look like a kids play dough art and craft, and plus €10 for rice on the side. I might as well save up and buy a Dior cup
google avatar

Agatha I.

Yelp
Ordered many many dishes and of course it was magnifique! But let's talk about the service and the venue! All the reviews about this place is true! A must do whilst in Paris!
google avatar

Aanchal C.

Yelp
Literally just a place for Instagram influencers to go and have their picture taken. There is nothing else to it. The food was standard, at best. The drinks were overpriced. This is where you go for beautiful people, not exceptional food.
google avatar

Anjali B.

Yelp
We sat outside because the weather was nice they had an area for smoking and non-smoking, when we got there around noonish the inside was quite empty but by the time we left it had begun to fill up. The atmosphere was pretty upscale but still maintaining charm. I would recommend if nice enough to sit outside it's a beautiful area. We started off with the escargot which were decent and for mains we had the risotto, tuna steak, green salad, and smoked salmon. The risotto was served with shrimp which was really tender but the actually risotto was very creamy and thicker, more indulgent than a normal risotto. The tuna steak was pretty good but a little dry, served with some sort of olive compote which helped the dryness. The smoked salmon was delicious, served with larger sized Bellinis, chives and cream(SO good!), the green salad was pretty standard but refreshing. The staff is kind and swift but a little slower.
google avatar

Nas P.

Yelp
What a waste of time this place was. The hostesses are simply a rude clique of mean girls who decide who gets to sit outdoors apparently based on whether they appear to be a D list celebrity (or whether you have a person of color in your party). Even if you have a reservation, specifically to sit on the patio, they invent reasons to disregard it. Spend your time and money at Mun, for example, for better views and far kinder staff. AVOID unless you like discrimination and snotty staff.
google avatar

Ellie G.

Yelp
Genuinely terrible experience. No one was on the patio but they sat us inside. We saw the prices, and decided to splurge a little for a nice vacation meal. Then, we tried to order a starter and it was horrible. Cold, sour, and the greens in the salad were wilted - so we tried to send back after a single bite. The drinks were fine, but while we were waiting for them to bring the menu back we realized the experience just wasn't worth the cost. We could easily get much better food at half the price. When we asked for the check, they still forced us to pay for the starter we did not eat and did not like. Do not go here, it's overpriced and just not good.
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
I thought this restaurant was going to be a "tourist trap" but it exceeded my expectations. This was my favorite dinner on my Parisian holiday. It was so trendy and chic. Their menu had a lot to offer. Naturally when in Rome (or in Paris in this case), I tried the escargot and OMG so delicious! The waitress was so friendly and sweet. She showed us how to eat this delicacy so we didn't make a mess or a fool out of ourselves lol. This restaurant is definitely worth the prices that they charge. Highly recommend it
google avatar

Diyan G.

Yelp
Hello, hope all is well, I was a guest at your restaurant, which I have multiple issues of. First of all majority of the staff has extremely high entitlement level. They think they are the guests and the guests are the employees. I think they have the situation mixed. They don't understand that they work there, they are the employees they cannot speak to guests as like guests work for them. There is one particular person her name is Laura. I want to bring a strong attention to the owners as majority of guests, and it's clearly shown on your reviews people cannot stand her actions. She is the most ignorant, unethical thing we have ever encountered in our entire life. The only position she should be allowed to be held, is a toilet cleaner maximum! This ludacris unstable individual, was called towards our table because the chef did not make our steaks correct instead of her, exchanging it and bringing us another plate, she asks why did you eat it? This thing doesn't understand people have to try their food in order to tell if it's properly made or not and to add insult on injury she charges us the bill and when we confronted her, she started raising her voice pointing her fingers hitting my chest. It came to a point we were going to have her arrested for assault and insults. Please do this company a favor and remove her immediately as we are also speaking with multiple attorneys to have her litigated, hopefully even prosecuted for her inhumane conduct she is a disgrace to humanity. This time she dealt with us people that are very ethical and kept everything professional. Next time she might encounter someone else that she might not be so lucky and might cause a fight! Start teaching her and rest of your frenchie crew that worldwide when people don't like their food, it usually is exchanged right away instead of asking baseless uneducated questions like this Laura did, actually when we call her uneducated that's a compliment.
google avatar

Janet A.

Yelp
Amazing experience and amazing food! A must try if your budget is up for it! The service was great! Merci!
google avatar

Diego A.

Yelp
The food is decent but super overpriced but what's really abusive it's the water, a small Evian water €10 it's a scam they should charge a ticket to get in a not charge for a water
google avatar

Taylor C.

Yelp
During my week long stay in Paris, this beautiful place was recommended to us by one of the locals! And I usually love a good recommendation. Upon entering we were immediately greeted and sat near a window. I personally love sitting near a window, as some of the tables are very close, this helps open up the room. I had the tuna tare tare appetizer chick was out of this world! Almost considered ordering a second plate! As an entree I had a pasta with mushrooms and white sauce. This wasn't extremely overwhelming to me personally.. but I am a major pasta fan so I'm hard to please ;) The over all experience was great and the service was very good.
google avatar

Anne D.

Yelp
Loved this restaurant! Great service! Dress well when you go as it is quite a trendy crowd. I had heard that food was just ok. I would disagree! We had Steak, frites, harricort vert, chicken paillard, spring roles and Thai Basil beef(which was the only item that was ehhhhh, a little bland and overcooked) Not inexpensive but you are paying for atmosphere and service!
google avatar

Cynthia J.

Yelp
I LOVE this place so much! Not just for the atmosphere (good for people watching and celebrities frequent here) BUT most importantly for the food. I'm back in the states and all I can think about is the Mouth-Watering dishes from the Salad with Large Crab Meat to the Shrimp/Risotto. The French definitely have it down pack to seasoning. Nothing is over seasoned or tasteless. For drinks try the "Perl" Cocktail it's worth every penny. 4 stars only because it's pricey.
google avatar

Evi K.

Yelp
Food was ok. Outside seating is pretty but [ I. feel conflicted as I try to stick to food and service in reviews] their seating protocol is a bit...not completely fair? Outside is for "reservations only". Yet they were happy to seat people inside and take them outside when seats opened but clearly less so for our darker skinned friends. Bummer to see it happen a few times just from the 30 min I sat there. Lost my appetite.

Yelp
So disappointed in our experience at l'Avenue. For years, it had been one of my favorite meals in Paris. The food was simple, yet elegant. Same with the decor, the service, the vibe. Now, in the age of Kardashian, this restaurant has gotten totally full of itself, and it showed in the food, the service, and the overall experience. On a 3 week trip to Europe, including Amsterdam, Paris, Florence and Rome, this was BY FAR the most disappointing meal of the entire trip, and one we would gladly have skipped had we known it would be this disappointing. The menu has skyrocketed to the point of extreme pricing for very little effort on the restaurant's part. We had a veal chop for, I believe 55 euro, which was basically a big chop cooked in a pan and dumped on a plate. That's it. No sauce. No garnish. Nothing else. Completely art-less. The chop was OK, but certainly not a revelation, which I would expect for an item of that price. The fries came out cold. We sent them back. The next order came out slightly less cold. We gave up and ate them. The service was completely disinterested. From the indifferent hosts, who were much more interested in chatting with one another than engaging with us, to the waitress, who, frankly, was the worst of our entire trip to Europe. We asked for water to start, it didn't come out until the meal was served. She was back to our table to take the order before delivering the water. No bread. No little amuses to thank us for dropping a huge amount of money for this underwhelming meal. In a city where there are brilliant meals for this price, and excellent meals for half, why would I ever bother to come to this place again? Maybe it's under new ownership. Maybe being a spot for the well-heeled and fashionistas has gone to their head. But we not only are done with l'Avenue (and I've been there at least 20 times over the years), but we think you ought to skip it as well until they adjust their attitude. And take a little pride in the food. Terrible meal, complete waste of our money.

Yelp
Came here as a recommendation from a few friends. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here!!! Our waitress was extremely attentive and explained everything perfectly. She also gave us her recommendations and they were amazing. We ate the Thai chicken. Rolls, the dumplings, everything was exquisite!!! Can't wait to get back to Paris and back here.

Yelp
Great food great service. A little pricey but worth it! Need to send email 30 days out for a table via their website. Get a table outside.
