Pricy at night so lunchtime is the sweet spot. Such an idyllic location on the water, you feel you are on holiday. The sommelier is award winning so the wine list will blow you away. I highly recommend the Bordeaux red by the glass if you want to stay within the budget. They make a most outstanding burger for what it’s worth

Google
Memorable experience of my wife's birthday that our friends JOY prepared. Awesome food and beautiful day and atmosphere at restaurant. Really recommend

Google
I like the crab cake very much. I like the seafood and fish entree with soup. The soup is not what I like. I do not like the signature pounded chicken entree. The rest are good. I enjoy the Apple Tarte dessert and dark chocolate soufflé. Beautiful space and fireplace

Alan Tachikawa

Google
Our favorite brunch spot. Great food, friendly and attentive service across everyone (valet, hosts, wait staff), and great atmosphere. I personally think their bloody mary is one of the best.

Jonathan Lo

Google
Beautiful venue by the water. Service was average but food was good overall.

Google
Been here many times, always a nice experience. Friendly staff, lively ambience, though I don’t think the food is all that amazing in comparison (and for this price point). Still, haven’t had a bad dish. No complaints. Recommendation: the Notorious cocktail - sweet and spicy.

Google
We went here after my fiancé had just proposed to me!! He made us a surprise reservation here and boy were we impressed! We felt like they knew us, they were so warm and cordial. We got a lovely booth seat. We ordered the Lobster and squid ink pasta and the rack of lamb. SUCCULENT. FLAVORFUL. AMAZING.

Google
We stopped in on our way home to Massachusetts and how happy we did! Everything from the food to the drinks, service and atmosphere were amazing. We asked the bartender for suggestions and went with the recommended tuna tartare and croque special. I got a mimosa and my other half got a Bloody Mary. Perfection! We will be back!

Aurora C.

Yelp
Very good service and food. We got the scallop special, lamb Pappardelle, french fries, and profiteroles. This is our third time here, and we have never been disappointed.

Aileen P.

Yelp
Oysters are fresh and delicious! Very chilled and presentation was beautiful. Bartenders are very friendly and welcoming. Lobster sliders were great! Coleslaw was crunchy tasted like it was made to order. Food was on point you could taste the tarragon in the lobster slider delicious! Bartender John recommended me a nice wine to go with my food and Mike Correa the other bartender made my visit very welcoming and great first experience.

Yelp
This is an upscale restaurant located in the Delamar Hotel in Greenwich, we went by boat and they charge an arm and a leg for docking. the most I've ever paid to dock my boat for two hours it almost cost $300. The hotel is very nice and the service was decent, but the menu was very limited and the food was not up to par. Not sure what the big hype is all about but definitely will not be going back.

Taylor A.

Yelp
Omg this was the #bestburger I've ever had in my entire 42 years on this earth. Met some very nice people. The views of the water are stunning. It really ended up being a beautiful day! The food & drinks were to die for. It's Greenwich and not cheap although you get what u pay for. Worth every penny. Exp 2 notorious (not spicy) & the burger & fries was about 72 b4 tip. Drinks are strong food is delicious John was my bartender

Yelp
Romantic sophistication restaurant for a special occasion or just dinner. They have outdoor seating in the summer which everyone loves but we seated inside due to heat. Service was good. Food was also good. The view outside is amazing.

Andres A.

Yelp
We came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and it did not disappoint. When you walk in they have several areas to choose to dine in, they have a bar area, inside dining area and an outdoor dining area. We chose to sit indoors because it was incredibly hot outside. The dining area has plenty of different sized tables with plenty of space in between them. The service was excellent. The staff was very attentive and helpful. They did an excellent job in offering suggestions and taking care of our requests. For starters we had the octopus and chorizo. What an excellent dish. The octopus was cooked perfectly and tasted even better. The chorizo provided a salty component that worked really well. For my entree I had the NY Steak which was cooked perfectly at a medium rare temperature served with fries and a side salad. My girlfriend had the gnocchi which she really enjoyed. One of our guests had the hangar steak which was cooked perfectly and tasted even better. For dessert we shared two; we had the crème brûlée and an order of ricotta donuts served with a raspberry and chocolate sauce. Both desserts were so good. We really enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely go back.

Yelp
I don't see how anyone is knocking the restaurant. Other than some higher prices for dishes, I was happy with everything we ordered. Between, the pastas and seafood and desserts and appetizers this restaurants food was spot on. The ambiance was a delightful surprise, one night they had live music in the bar which you can hear through the restaurant. And they had the fire place rocking which was awesome for the cold winter nights. They had a great wine selection for bottles and glasses and even served the glasses in the appropriate glassware, which is a nice treat. Highly recommend to anyone staying at the hotel or passing through. Great upscale restaurant, doing everything right.

Donald C.

Yelp
Food consistently good and well prepared. Service was excellent and quite attentive. Decor was representative

Iceburg S.

Yelp
Great French restaurant. Delicious food, great atmosphere. Top notch service staff! Attached to the Delamar.

Maria M.

Yelp
Outrageous prices for the portions they serve! Also, I am lactose intolerant and have told them repeatedly. I am positive they didn't tell the cook and they still put butter in my fish. I had a terrible diarrhea the whole night!! Never going there again! Also, the place was so busy and the service was not good. Don't go!!

George B.

Yelp
Very attentive service definitely lands L'Escale in the 4 star territory. Servers were very professional and clearly experienced. Bonus points for immediately asking if the kids orders should be put in right away. The kids had chicken fingers with fries that honestly looked quite impressive. In fact the adults dipped into them before entrées arrived! One also got the adult option of banana pancakes with a berry compote. Looked amazing. The adults split a seafood tower flush with lobster, oysters, and clams. Unfortunately the lobster was undercooked. Oysters and clams were just right though. After all of that I opted for a salad with tuna. It hit the spot. Dressing was very flavorful. Dessert just fine. I had ice cream over a brownie served in a glass. So it was a small brownie. It was pretty good but the cookies we ordered for the table were disappointing, just not much going on. If you have the choice, eat outside. L'Escale is right on the water. That being said, get here soon; the hotel is not renewing the restaurant's lease!

Kelly S.

Yelp
I was devastated to learn a few months ago that L'Escale might be permanently closing due to hotel license/ business arrangement. This would have been a tragedy and disservice for Greenwich and the whole CT area. So when it was announced that the restaurant would stay, it was so exciting and relieving, and my wish realized! It is all about the full experience here. I love the food, the sharp and professional service, and the picturesque setting and yearn to come here as often as I can make it, each chance I get. This time, I came for my birthday. It was a lovely late lunch/ early dinner, with the beautiful sun, sparkling water, and delicious seafood! I am crazy for the views and dessert here each time and love to taste and sample as much as I can. Thank you to the restaurant for making my special day truly special! As always, I'll be back.

Janine S.

Yelp
Love this place. I was eating alone so I sat at the bar. The ambience is sophisticated with lots of natural sunlight. Bartender was very friendly and service was spot on. I had a glass of champagne and the Niçoise salad one of my favorites. The seared Ahi was cooked to order and the greens and olives served with it covered in a light vinaigrette dressing. I remember when it was the Showboat! Definitely worth a visit especially if you like dining on the water.

Fragolina L.

Yelp
Beautiful outdoor bar and seating! Stopped in for a quick cocktail this a week ago and I was not disappointed. The bartender was attentive and accommodating. My cocktail was prepared well. Will definitely return for dinner and cocktails.

Rits M.

Yelp
I came here for a day at the spa. The lunch space kind of looks like someone's living room and they have a number of small plates if you would like to get a light meal. They also have a large outdoor space with wooden flooring if you would like to sit outside. The wait stuff is very helpful and very deferential. They took our order and the food came out pretty quickly. I tried the tuna tartar which was pretty good, I think this place they manage to get the salt exactly right. For me the tuna wasn't exactly very flavorful but the quality was good. The person I was with tried the prosciutto salad, it was really good as well but not very memorable. We came back for dinner and I tried the salmon. All the food is really well presented and attention has been paid to the look of the food. We also tried the octopus appetizer which was beyond delicious, I would get this every time. They added some sun-dried tomato to it and that really brings out the flavors of the dish. If you can get those in a meal portion I would probably try that. There is great views on the dining room looks very pretty and very well put together, I could see it being used as an event space for a wedding or reception. I would be back to this place if I came to the area again.

Yelp
Hubby and I had already eaten but we wanted drinks with a view and L'Escale popped up and it looked so beautiful in pictures that we just had to come. There was no street parking available so we valet our car. Couldn't help but to chuckle seeing our economy-sized Focus rental among the Porsche's, BMW's and G-Wagons -this was a very affluent area. Hostess asked if we had reservations, we said no so she directed us to indoor seating (which, tbh I didn't mind because the deck looked so windy and folks were holding onto their hats hehehe). We still had a great view of the waterfront so I was happy. Ordered a few drinks (strawberry lemonade/old fashioned) and some oysters. It was such a relaxing/fun meal -many thanks to our servers who were simply amazing. I'm sorry I didn't get your name but thank you for taking the time to tell us about you oyster origin story + burger recommendation and to the other server, thank you for recommending the Avenue shops. I do have to note that the gnocchi was too dense and larger than normal but the sauce was so delicious that I ended up using the bread to soak up all that yumminess. A truly delightful dining experience. Thank you, L'Escale!

Pamela J.

Yelp
Very disappointed in all aspects. Menu was very limited and not appealing. Service was absolutely awful. Our waiter was surly and downright rude. Prices very high. I wouldn't mind if food was good but it wasn't. Would have let them know at the time but it was very obvious they didn't care. Total waste. Definitely don't recommend.

Yelp
We chose this restaurant to meet friends that we had not seen for many months because of the pandemic. The restaurant was perfect because it was in-between both of our home destinations and we were able to reserve outdoor dining for lunch. As I have read, this is a fine French dining restaurant located in the Delamar Hotel, with outdoor waterside seating & an sophisticated inside dining room. The restaurant seems to cater to the clientele of the neighboring Connecticut towns along with Westchester County. What drew me to this restaurant was the waterside dining and the creative culinary French dishes that I had learned about from many others that have dined here. The attraction for our party was also their sophisticated wine list that also had reasonable priced wine bottles along with the fresh baked deserts. Who does not lie French bakery deserts? The service and our choices for lunch were wonderful along with attentive staff. We were fortunate to have a picture perfect day to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the wonderful dining experience.

John O.

Yelp
The night was perfect. The greeting was warm as everyone met in the bar. The bartender was great and kept the beverages flowing. The ambiance was spectacular. The table was nice for 11 ladies and the wait staff was amazing. The meals were unique and complimented by all. Christine was in her glory. Thank you and your ownership for hosting this phenomenal event.

Jean G.

Yelp
I didn't get a chance to take awesome photos of the place because I went for a corporate breakfast meeting. It was an absolute perfect place to bring our executives to. They were both surprised about how gorgeous the place and views are. I ordered a plain omelette with smoked salmon on the side. That salmon was hands down the best part of the meal!!!! The flavor and thickness were perfect. I crave it every single day now everytime I see a bagel in our kitchen. The room were filled with professionals having great start of their mornings but the noise is still very adequate to have business meetings because the spaces between the tables are huge.

Devorah D.

Yelp
Delicious. The chicken paillard--their specialty--is absolutely delicious! Gnocchi are soooo good! Ricotta donuts, creek brûlée, apple tart...are all sooo good!!! Beautiful presentation and amazing chefs.

Mary B.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner here recently. The service was excellent, attentive but not hovering. Delicious filet with a marvelous béarnaise and pomme frites done perfectly. Welcoming and warm. We will be back!

Shannon W.

Yelp
I love this place! It is super bougee and I feel like I'm one of the NY housewives every time I come here, (and fee;omg slightly feeling judged that I don't drive a Mercedes), but hey, it's Greenwich, right? Anyway, the first time I was here, we sat inside by the bar and enjoyed a nice brunch with French white wine - it was obvious this was a stopover for people driving to and from their summer homes and winter homes (especially in the summer). We had their lobster sliders - which came two to a plate and I was very pleased. They had a large wine selection and the wines were reasonably priced. We also enjoyed their seasonal cocktails. The second time I brought some gfs we sat outside in the corner and watched the boats go by. What a relaxing Sunday afternoon of cocktails, wine, and lunch. They had a two or three course pre-fix of salad + fish (local Jonn Dory), but we opted for the salad with salmon, steak and scallops. I had the scallops dish which came with 2 scallops, some fingerling potatoes, and asparagus. Perfect summer dish - and just enough food. As an FYI-everyone dresses very well here - it looks like a country club - and they'll always make you wait at the reception for your table to be ready or to 'see if they have any tables available' which is a bit annoying, but I don't mind sitting around on their comfy couches and people watching while they figure logistics out. My only gripe is the service could be better - but I've only been here on Sundays for brunch in the summer - so I'm sure that's their busy season - and they're hustling around the restaurant. Yet, I've never felt rushed and also never sat around for endless hours waiting for my food either - but it's also never memorable - or something to write home about. However, I am still giving it 5/5 because it makes me happy to be here and it's worth the 45 min drive to me.

Dan S.

Yelp
Beautiful dining room? Check. Beautiful location by the water? Check. Modern French food? Check This place should check all the boxes. And yet. It can all come down to service. The warm smile. The water refilled. The plates cleared. The writing down our order the first time instead of coming back five minutes later because you forgot. Yet that five star service was definitively missing. The food, however was terrific. We started with an over the top and overpriced seafood tower. Yet it was great. The oysters were a standout. Fresh well sourced and full of flavor, it's a reminder how good a simple bite can be. The baby kale Caesar was also very good as weLLl with caper. I would've still liked anchovies but good nonetheless. Not too heavy. Then the branzino. Really solid dish with a meaty yet buttery fish. Dessert was just ok and the service far too pretentious.

King K.

Yelp
I mean, this place is just wonderful (food, staff, location) what can I say that hasn't been said before. Well, here is new info. I can tell you the menu says they don't do soufflés for lunch but.....if they aren't too busy and dessert chef is in plus if you ask very politely, you might get lucky. And that is why I will always go there.

Cait K.

Yelp
Cannot fault this place. Can always depend on quality, service, ambience, and that you will enjoy an outstanding meal in a classy place. The filet mignon is a favorite of mine. Nothing disappoints that I have tried. I did have a negative experience some years ago but it was due to an overly loud wedding which was taking place next door in their hotel. Hopefully they get them to be reasonable to other paying guests.

Nia A.

Yelp
I've always known of L'Escale as being one of the best dining experiences in Greenwich and was excited to try while staying at the Delamar. Sadly, I don't know if "best" is what comes to mind after eating here. The glasses were dirty, waitstaff seemed misplaced and the food perfectly fine. Nothing screamed best or amazing, unfortunately.

Scott S.

Yelp
I hadn't been to this upscale Greenwich CT French eatery in more than twenty years but it's still a classy and fabulous experience. We were quickly whisked into a lovely and lively dining room with a classy bistro type vibe with stone floors. All of the staff from the hosts, waiters, bus people, and managers (Maitre d) were attentive and efficient. My partner and I were giddy with delight when seated at the best table in the house- a cute one in the center of the room near a fireplace. Now for the good stuff- the food. We began by sharing the tuna tartare which was petit, light, and yummy. The specialty soup- creme of asparagus was to die for, both creamy and tasty. The main course we each chose was the hangar steak Frite which came with a light and leafy arugula salad with vinaigrette. The steak was delicious. We closed the evening with creme brule which was perfect. A cool characteristic of the restaurant is the specialty cocktail named for classic film. I had the 'Chinatown' and my partner had 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly'. His was better than mine. I'm not sure how popular these drinks are since most others seemed to be drinking wine. The restaurant is fairly pricey but worth every penny.

AA A.

Yelp
Best in Greenwich! Beautiful, sophisticated and fabulous service. Dramatically different from many of the other newish places in Greenwich. Great managers. They all want to please! Food is consistently good and generous. Chicken Milanese is phenomenal. Nothing contrived ~ all good!

Lena B.

Yelp
Beautiful location on the LI sound marina. Food is excellent and service is attentive. Pricey, but worth it for the scenery esp on Fri/Sat night when outdoor bar is hopping with young professionals and a few attractive divorcées.

Dude M.

Yelp
The lentil soup was very nice, but it was just lentil soup. The chicken paillard tasted like fair food (disappointing, obviously). The wine and cocktails were very good. I enjoyed a Negroni. The general atmosphere was disappointing, the entire room, smelling of very cheap disinfectant, something similar to Mr. clean. Too many staff members, many of them idle. Not a well oiled machine. Do not think I'll be coming back.

Elisa G.

Yelp
Mediocre restaurant on the waterfront in Greenwich, CT which was just average at best. My smoked salmon wasn't "house smoked" as advertised and for $21 it was kind of a rip off. Bf had a salad with bland strips of chicken and some lettuce and some other stuff that wasn't memorable at all. The service was super slow too. They are dog friendly and abide by CoVID standards so I'll rate this a 3 star restaurant but the food was only 2 stars. The bathroom is beautiful and worth 3 stars!!

Lee L.

Yelp
Good food lousy service The food was very good but service was difficult to get. We ordered food and had to flag a busboy to order a bottle of wine. Once it was delivered no one poured later glasses. The waitress appeared seconds after our food arrived to ask how it was but never appeared again without being summoned thru a passing busboy. To place a desert order we had to flag a passing busboy to have him get our waitress. The dining room was less than half full. I tipped only because the busboys helped us.

KC C.

Yelp
Grabbed dinner here with the family. As the hostess seated us, she mentioned the time limit. Didn't set the right town and would have assumed the service would be a little quicker if they wanted our group out quickly. Food here was decent (ordered the bluefin tuna credo, hanger steak, bouillabaisse) and what you would expect from an upscale restaurant. Ended up ordering dessert when one of the other waiters gave us a pass with going slightly over the two hour mark.

Sepehr K.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service. The tuna tartar and octopus were absolutely fantastic. The main courses we chose were nothing breathtaking but would go back for sure.

Reshma B.

Yelp
Had an OK experience here. We picked this spot as a nice outdoor dining location on a 95 degree day. It was a good choice for that, especially with the breeze coming from the water. The tables were adequately spaced apart. Parking was a bit confusing - the lot said valet parking only, but I asked the valet if there was any other parking and he thankfully pointed me to the beach lot across the street that was free on Sundays. Was expecting an "upscale" dining experience, so my expectations might have been high. The service and food were okay. We only got 2 menus for 3 of us and it took a long while for them to take our order, and then I had to ask for a water refill twice before they brought it, which was only pronounced because it was a very hot day. However I saw they were frequently tending to the table right next to us. It was extremely windy and our napkins and menus kept flying around so I had to hold them down. At one point my bread even flew away. But I must admit, the wind felt nice. The food portions were smallish, but must be typical for French cuisine. I got avocado toast with sunny side up eggs and ate the whole thing. The one cocktail I got (The Chinatown) was nice and refreshing. Our waiter didn't come back when we were done with our drinks, so I wasn't able to get a second one. Overall, an average dining experience, with a nice location.

Jane M.

Yelp
Wonderful food, service, ambiance! Will definitely return when in Greenwich ! Tres francais!

J G.

Yelp
Went with friends for desserts only...we were in the bar since the restaurant side could not accommodate (busy night). The music was way too loud. I doubt the band needed the amplification they brought since it is a relatively small room. The desserts were okay.

Rae Lynne K.

Yelp
I wanted to take my coworker out for a nice lunch and this place wasn't very far from the office. I made a reservation through open table which was super easy. On entry there was no one taking temperatures which I was surprised. After getting checked in we opted for indoor seating as it was a little chilly out. I started with the Brussels sprouts with bacon and they were delicious. The bacon and the honey really shine through. My coworker had the garden salad, and although it looked a little less than desired the beet dressing made it all better. It literally is so light and vibrant, and a must try. For lunch we both opted for the bacon cheeseburger, mine without the bun. It was nice and thick, very juicy, and came with a side of French fries (which I sampled just three). The room was busy but social distancing is enforced, and if you get up for the bathroom you must wear a mask. I love the ambiance of the fireplace and the Christmas decorations. I also love the fact that it is right on the water and they also have a heated tent. I am looking forward to coming back for dinner!

Marc B.

Yelp
L'escale is exquisite. The service is fantastic, the food even better. While expensive, the portions are substantial and the experience feels luxurious. Absolutely worth it. We were sorry to hear that it's closing in December as this was our first time, and we will certainly be going back.

Steven S.

Yelp
So checked the restaurant out last night as its at the Delamar hotel in Greenwich CT Had a 8pm res for outside seating Stunning setting as its on the harbor Walked in gave our name and they said it would be about 15 minutes as the people paid and would be leaving soon Let me tell you something about people when they finish eating they sit and talk and talk and talk Well my 15 minutes became 30 and i said to the hostess whats the story. She said we have no tables I went nuts asked for the manager He came out and looked me up and down and then I realized how stuck up this place was They actually look to see how your dress Finally he gave us a table outside for two packed in to another set of 2 tables The tables next to me kept spilling there drunks on one another as it was so tight Lol the Staff came over and stated to dry this woman's shoes as she had a cosmo spill on it Now the food Started with a 200.00 bottle they then dis not look me up and down! Had a cheese plate very good Wife and I har smoked salmon very good She had chicken and i had hanger steak with fries Real good!! 500.00 later i was happy Will be back Make a res expect to wait for outside

Cyrus P.

Yelp
Reservations STRONGLY suggested. Service was great. Food was solid and views were nice. I wouldn't trek all the way from NYC just to come back here, but I'm not mad we came. Overall a nice experience.

Yelp
A++ for dining and EVENTS! We had our wedding here! Where do I even begin... if you are searching for a gorgeous, 5 star venue, with the most incredible staff/team, management, food, location, atmosphere, service, and more.. look no further!!! I cannot put into words how seamless and phenomenal everything was for our wedding. Being a "covid bride" caused a great deal of stress (we were originally getting married in June 2020 at a different venue). So - we did a lot of research, meetings with different venues, and then accidentally stumbled across the idea of our wedding at L'Escale (after dining at this restaurant for the first time!). We fell in love with everything about it, but we were completely blown away after meeting Michael Merturi (Director of Catering) there to get general info about a potential wedding. I worked with a lot of strong business/people and vendors (for my own line of work but then also for our wedding and the many changes during covid) and his authenticity, compassion, and work ethic is unmatched. He pours his heart into his clients/customers and this restaurant. I could tell within our initial conversation that our wedding venue search was over and we would be in the best hands for a PERFECT wedding event. Every meeting, touch point, conversation, was so organized, pleasant, thorough and valuable. Michael doesn't miss a beat, doesn't miss a detail, and really listens and implements to perfection. You can tell he wouldn't accept anything less than perfect and 1000% satisfaction. If you want a venue and coordinator onsite that will take all stress away, help you to customize your dream day, he is your guy and this is your place to be. When it comes to menu/food/drink adjustments, working with you to meet your budget, customizations to layout/tables/linens, stationary/signage.. I can go on and on -- he makes it happen. Normally, you would outsource for a lot of this, but Michael and L'Escale step up to the plate to cover all bases and take things off your plate so you can relax and watch your dream day/event come to life! Our wedding was the definition of perfect. Guests could not stop talking about every detail from food, atmosphere, service. Each one kept saying it was the best in all 3 buckets from any wedding they've been to. Being from Westchester NY, myself and my family/friends have been exposed to A LOT of great business, venues and other weddings... so our "bar" was set pretty high. This experience was like no other. Since it isn't a large catering hall like other venues, you will get an intimate, customized experience, complete focus and dedication. Food is AMAZING since dishes are made fresh and not sitting around. The Delamar Hotel (GORGEOUS) is connected to the restaurant, so everything from getting ready, accommodations -- it' so easy to knock everything out. Our ceremony and cocktail hour was on the terrace and it was stunning! The perfect spot since year round, it has a covering (can be covered on sides during inclement weather and you will still have that "outdoor" experience and beauty on the water). You will blow people away with a wedding/event here and you will be so grateful for this decision! Thank you to Michael and everyone at L'Escale for knocking our wedding day out of the park. My only wish is that time slowed down, because we didn't want it to end! :) We will be reliving it over and over with the biggest smiles on our faces.. looking forward to celebrating our anniversary every single year! Simply THE BEST.

Dan S.

Yelp
Celebrated our 30th anniversary here today. There were no tables available but we sat at the bar overlooking the harbor in Greenwich. David was our bartender and server. He was terrific. View was beautiful and we were so glad we sat there instead of at a table. We had the 2 course price fix. We both had the heirloom tomato pineapple and watermelon salad with sherry glaze. My wife had the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp and I had the grilled Black Sea bass with broccoli and fingerling potatoes. I also ordered a dozen little neck clams as well. Everything was great. For dessert we split the brownie sundae. A very nice experience and a great lunch to celebrate our anniversary. . Thank you.

Olga K.

Yelp
Two stars for the location & ambiance. Zero stars for service & ability to get a food order straight. It goes like this... Three working professionals walk into the bar (restaurant), a business owner, a high-end restaurant manager, and a national law practice senior paralegal. Immediately get stared down and get put in the back of the restaurant outside. Mind you, reservation had been made almost a week in advance for a birthday celebration (!)... The rest snowballs from there: standoffish server, incompetent, although nice manager (or one of the managers, as we lost count how many of them were on the floor that night); none of them could get it right from attitude to putting in our orders correctly. We finally addressed it with one of those endless managers and it seemed like they finally heard us & started getting it right. But as we paid our check and put down a pen, here storms an unknown individual yelling to us to "get out" continuing that "we had to get up and leave immediately". We had no idea what he even wanted from us. So one of us asked him to at least tell us who he was. He angrily said he was "one of the managers" named Michael. Here comes another manager telling us to leave as we already have gotten up & proceeded to entrance. It's a big NO. Here's simply why. In an upscale restaurant where you have your patrons spending big amounts of money, if you have a curfew, you need to be able to approach your tables 15 min before & provide a gentle reminder that you unfortunately would have to ask them to leave in 15 min. Instead you sent, what appeared to be, a big bouncer throwing people out as if we all were in a beer or college drinking joint. YOU HAVE NOT PROVIDED AN UPSCALE RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE. And to "one of the managers", named Michael I would just say that working with people is not his strong side, and strongly suggest to please consider another career for his & everyone else's sake. You're welcome. Date of service Jan 15, 2021.

Yelp
My review concerns the breakfast I had while a guest at the Delamar. The coffee was old and when I asked I was told it was made 2x each morning. Fine, but however you are keeping it warm is ruining it. It got thick and bitter and the milk going in proved it. The bacon is not a tasty brand or its over cooked and also left out for two long, Don't know which. I never got a spoon. And the milk carafe was leaking and so my table paper cloth was messy and ruined. All in all a terrible experience. Nothing stood out as delicious and the above made it all even worse. Please fix the breakfast experience!

Yelp
I've lived in Greenwich for 20 years and I've always frequented this restaurant. I understand that COVID times are tough, and while I've been watching this restaurant gradually decline, today it dropped beyond repair in my eyes. Today we came in for my dad's birthday, and I called ahead to insure they knew, and left a note on the reservation. Not only did it take them 45 minutes to take our food order, they kept assuring us they would be right with us. The seats were dirty, the salt was dirty (it had bread crumbs and food in it) even the glasses were dirty. We ordered the bread basket, which was sparse and burnt. The georgette salad entree was barely an appetizer side, and the brunch eggs Benedict was so underwhelming the waiter offered another side. We got a bottle of champagne, and we barely saw the waiter again- we served ourselves from the ice bucket. This experience was only exacerbated by recently raised prices. When we had finished eating, they brought the check without the birthday dessert I called ahead for. Oh well l'escale- we had a good run for the past 20 years, hopefully you'll get new management and I'll see you again in the next life. UPDATE- I spoke with the manager and they comped the champagne and brought out a free dessert. There manager was lovely, and did his best; he made me feel heard and was apologetic which I appreciated.

Yelp
5 *'s for L'Escale. Atmosphere is superb, on the water! Although we are in the bar, it was classy, yet comfortable! L'Escale sits on the property of the Delamar hotel, in the Harbor! We had a nice table for 4, in the bar, which is called the lounge area! Our waiter was excellent! The food was delicious! The DRINKS, were made so good. I had "how to meet a Millionaire " it was so good! We started with a dozen of Kumamoto oysters, heirloom tomatoes and a fried soft shell crab. Then we ordered the tuna tartare, grilled calamari, and the pappardelle! Every thing was so good! We had ordered the peach tart, and profiteroles! Everything was excellent!

Yelp
This is an amazing place, they had a very good place to sit outside and in shade cause it was like 90. Really good foods, I had the oysters the guy suggested I should try three different types and he gave two of each. They were all very nice, it would have been better if they would have come in and explained which one is which and the difference between them. Other than that I had the gnocchi which was awesome and also the creme brûlée which was very nice. It's a bit expensive so like it's a once in a few months type of thing. Overall good food and good ambiance they could improve on their service skills! Thank
