"L'Ôtel L’Ôtel may not have a Mexican-sounding name, but the intimate boutique property is pure San Miguel de Allende. A colonial-style stone facade covered in vines gives way to four exceedingly stylish rooms with eclectic influences that nod to the diversity of the city itself: exposed wood beams, gilt picture frames, dramatic headboards, and terra-cotta floor tiles join luxury touches like Italian linens, personal fireplaces, and silk coverlets. There’s free Wi-Fi and a film and music library from which guests can borrow titles to play on flat-screen TVs, but you won’t want to miss the cinematically romantic views from the rooftop terrace, where a heated plunge pool and breakfast area afford incredible vistas overlooking La Parroquia. Those with more contemporary tastes should check in at sister property Dôce 18 Concept House, just a few blocks away."

I had an awful stay at his hotel, was a last minute decision because the electricity was out at my house here. I had to wait 15 minutes for the unwelcoming woman (she had to tear herself away from her cell phone, after all) at the front desk to give me my room key. Notably, there was a disgusting bowl of meat strips literally on the front desk - absolutely revolting - keep your dinner hidden. I could not get the air conditioning to work in the room (and I tried calling the desk but no answer) and they offer only thick robes, not light spring/summer robes like most quality hotels. So I kept waking up from a combination of itchy sheets and heat - maybe got 2 hours of sleep at most. I was finally awoken by a snippy woman calling from the front desk not even ten minutes after check-out - I had made the error of oversleeping since my phone had died (with the alarm on it - had no charger with me as this stay was unplanned), and they are too cheap to have clocks in the rooms. She threatened me saying they would charge me if I stayed beyond 1 pm, despite the hotel only having 44% capacity the previous evening (I had asked). I had already explained the situation but this harpy was as inhospitable as it gets. So I left before 1 and explained what had happened to the manager, who was pleasant enough - HOWEVER, he promised to send me a voucher for a meal (first offered breakfast but I had to leave) as compensation for what had transpired. Nothing was sent, predictably. All I received was a request for a review but when you click in the link, it refuses to let you leave a review once you have checked out - quite strange! Ironically, they have vague Michelin signs up ALL over the place, including at the street entrance, for the restaurant - though it is a different rating, nothing like the classic Michelin star ratings which are nearly impossible to get - this is some meaningless, newfangled “award” for mediocrity, at best…I had eaten at the restaurant for New Year’s Eve and it was just OK. Tacky hotel with tacky employees - Michelin should disassociate ASAP, it is decidedly NOT a good look for them.

Honestly, I don't know how this hotel could have been any better. Our room on the second floor was huge, and very well appointed. Staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts were fantastic, as was the dinner we enjoyed there. The bar service was excellent also. The location is just perfect. Overall, this hotel and restaurant is clearly run by management who really know what they are doing and how to provide guests with an exceptional experience. Everything seems to have been considered. I can honestly make an unqualified recommendation.

Truly an amazing aesthetic, every one was a kind and attentive. The free breakfast was amazing, tasted amazing. Ten out of ten would recommend! The colors in the room were very calming. Very beautiful hotel, I felt immersed in the culture of the city.

From the minute we arrived, the experience staying at Casa Arca blew away my expectations. The service was nothing short of perfect, and the manager there Manuel treated us like family. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location couldn't be any more central in San Miguel. The beds were also extremely comfortable and the rooms felt like you were in a miniature home. I could not imagine staying anywhere else when I visit San Miguel again.

Perfect hotel in San Miguel de Allende. Design is superb - traditional in the lobby with interesting modern vibe in rooms. Rooms are big and light-filled. Staff is lovely and their rooftop bar is fabulous. But the best part is the location. So perfectly situated in the center of town. I cannot think of a better place to stay.

This hotel is wonderful. The room was amazing, the staff are attentive and professional, the food is fantastic. This is a gem.||If you get the chance to stay in the room with the bathtub outside, I recommend it. As well, the rooftop restaurant is highly recommended for a Friday/Saturday night meal. Great music and the view is world class.

Everything about this place is nice, this is about the wifi only. We have some work to do and this is killing it, I have to reschedule clients until we move to a better place. the room wifi barely exists, routers aren't that expensive, especially when charging $400 for rooms. They have 1 network for the lobby area but it doesn't work in the rooms, so every room is given its own network. Ours is absolute garbage in the room on both laptops, it took an act of God to connect, then it keeps dropping and saying "No Internet". It's 2025, you need an IT director. I'm available.
