"L'Ôtel L’Ôtel may not have a Mexican-sounding name, but the intimate boutique property is pure San Miguel de Allende. A colonial-style stone facade covered in vines gives way to four exceedingly stylish rooms with eclectic influences that nod to the diversity of the city itself: exposed wood beams, gilt picture frames, dramatic headboards, and terra-cotta floor tiles join luxury touches like Italian linens, personal fireplaces, and silk coverlets. There’s free Wi-Fi and a film and music library from which guests can borrow titles to play on flat-screen TVs, but you won’t want to miss the cinematically romantic views from the rooftop terrace, where a heated plunge pool and breakfast area afford incredible vistas overlooking La Parroquia. Those with more contemporary tastes should check in at sister property Dôce 18 Concept House, just a few blocks away."

L'Ôtel - Casa Arca (San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato) 11 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"San Miguel de Allende: this once-sleepy colonial masterpiece has become a mecca for foodies and the Instagram set alike (just take one look at the colorful facades and cobblestone streets — we defy you to leave your smartphone or camera at home). Just about 150 miles outside Mexico City, a healthy expat contingent has turned San Miguel de Allende into one of Mexico’s most cosmopolitan cities. And in the very heart of town — a UNESCO World Heritage site, no less — sits the L'Ôtel at Dôce18 Concept House." - Tablet Hotels

We chose this hotel based on location, price and amenities. Little did we know that the hotel was so well appointed with beautiful decor, ambience, and room. The room was so bright and spacious with comfortable beds, clean furniture, and large bathroom for the 3 of us. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. The included breakfast was perfect for us each morning before venturing out into town. We had no problems with getting our dietary preferences met and sufficient food to fill our bellies. The staff is friendly, and so helpful answering our "touristy" questions! Thank you for the wonderful 6 nights at your hotel.

Nice hotel, great decor. Signature Suite was stunning, large, and felt luxurious. Very plush bed and high-quality bedding/pillows. Couch was comfy, suite had many seating areas. Air conditioner worked well. Shower was nice (average pressure and size), outdoor bathtub was cool. Housekeeping and turndown was amazing - impeccable. Hotel location is amazing - right in the middle of the main square, walkable to everything.||Front desk service could improve - they were friendly, but not very helpful. Couldn't exchange dollars for pesos, couldn't break large peso bills into smaller bills, miscommunicated driver pickup time (thank goodness we caught it the night before), and didn't inform us that breakfast starts at 8am on our date of departure, when we were being picked up at 8am. High-end hotels would tell you that in advance and offer to make a bagged breakfast to go. We asked if any bakeries or restaurants nearby were open, but they said no. I walked outside, and 3 shops down on the same block, there was both an open cafe and a bakery next to it. ||Would stay again, but other than high quality of housekeeping, the rate is a little high for the value with service not being on par with other high-end hotels.

It took sometime to locate the hotel email, once I did locate it, the hotel team were really helpful. There is a basic steamer in the room, but an iron is available at reception. Hair stylist is also available by request. The breakfasts were excellent and they cater for vegetarian. The hotel operates a strict 3 pm room access and 12 depart. They will store luggage. There are two sides to the hotel. In the road side you can hear the town. In the other you can hear noisy pool users. There are different standards of rooms and the costs reflect this. Our room was perfect, extra large bed which was really comfortable. Turn down service. Bath tub (a real one) and walk in shower plus twin sinks. Hairdryer. fridge. Safe. Complementary water each day. Very close to shops and to the centre where everything’s happening. |Breakfast is included. Service is not, the staff will pursue you if you do not give them 10% tip in pesos every breakfast, every meal or drink order. ATMs very close by. pharmacy also very close by.

Regrettably, the beds are old and are bending at the sides, the bedding is good but the mattresses are old and worn out. The worst of all was the water flow of the shower to zero flow due to demand we suppose. Reported to management 3 days in a row the manager is Manuel and he was aware and told us he would rectify the situation. And no, we didn’t get a new room nor a credit for any inconvenience. We had room 205 and we had to go to my daughters room 212 to shower. We spent 3800 hundred dollars for 6 nights/2 rooms you would think he would make it all right but he didn’t. We had a family wedding with many rooms rented for that week. The manager had the power to make things better but decided not to. They are better hotels in the same vicinity. Do not stay there. you will regret it.

From the minute we arrived, the experience staying at Casa Arca blew away my expectations. The service was nothing short of perfect, and the manager there Manuel treated us like family. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location couldn't be any more central in San Miguel. The beds were also extremely comfortable and the rooms felt like you were in a miniature home. I could not imagine staying anywhere else when I visit San Miguel again.

Terrific hotel, with wonderful staff, and an amazing location. Even the food at the restaurant was amazing. Being 100 yards from the main square made getting around town quick and easy.
