L'Eautel (Toulon, French Riviera / Provence) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"If you know any French at all you can see L’Eautel Toulon Port’s maritime theme coming from a thousand miles away, but as always, it’s not the concept that matters so much as the execution — and here the nautical color scheme and the graphic wave motif are applied with a light touch, lending an air of whimsical fun to this 62-room boutique hotel in Toulon, on the Mediterranean coast between Marseille and St. Tropez. This is a working port city, not an idle beach town; L’Eautel is set on the edge of the old town center, right across from the maritime museum and the Arsenal Toulon naval base." - Tablet Hotels

This hotel once housed former naval staff and is across the street from the entrance to the naval base. They obviously had much smaller beds back then. Our room had a balcony but there was a two-tiered French door system to get to it, with an inner set of doors as well as an outer set of doors. The awkward part was that the doors could not open fully, given the position of the bed, so it was like a geometry puzzle every time you wanted to get out there.||Another odd quirk: the toilet was in its own WC with a motion-activated light. This was blinding in the middle of the night and was even more-disturbing when it failed to go off for the remainder of the night. This required a visit from maintenance the next ay to fix.||Comfortable bed and pillows, convenient location, with a wonderful courtyard piazza right out the hotel back door with a large assortment of restaurants and outdoor dining options. It was also across the street from the naval museum, and the popular pier and all of its excellent restaurants.||A special call-out to Romaine, one of the dining staff. My wife had a foot that had swollen up from too much walking. When I explained the situation to Romaine, she not only provided ice and towels in a high hat, she unhesitatingly reached under the counter and grabbed her own bottle of Arnica cream and added it to the pile. I gaped at her, not fully understanding, so she explained that this was something she used for foot pain. I was astonished at her generosity. It is one thing to provide some ice. It is an entirely-different act to give up one’s own medical supply of pain relief for a hotel guest! This was an act of compassion and kindness that I will remember for a very long time.

This so called boutique hotel is a total mess of nautical themes which have failed in every respect.||The design and execution cost must have been vast and the outcomes pathetic.||The staff were at best vaguely willing. Their helpfulness was sadly awful - clearly because of lack of direction/management.||The underground car parking arrangements were hugely complicated and the staff seemed totally uninterested in supporting clients through this process. We got lost on the way in and on the way out, and still they gave vague responses. Why was there no clear map and detailed instructions?||After signing in, the girl on reception pointed us to a lift that was not anywhere near our room (we had to use multiple stairs).||The following day we discovered a lift 10 m from our room.||The wi-fi was too slow to be useful - when I complained the nexr morning I was told there was a much better one and given the details!!||An awful overall experience of a costly self ihdulgent and ridiculous design theme which fails, and staff totally lacking management and the understanding of caring for customers' minute by minute needs.

Booked this hotel for a couple of nights touring south France - and lucky for that....||L'eautel is boxed in between the main road through Toulon and a square with outdoor servings and bars with loud music. AND if that werent't enough just next door to the hotel is a bar with disco music as well....!!!||We had a room facing the road and bar with music (room 308) and one room facing the square (room 312). Needless to say - even with ask at check in to make sure to fit us in to a quiet location of the building - we got these two - off course wondering if any rooms exist not facing either of the two :(||Besides that - Toulon is a wonderful city - will for sure be back - but for sure not to L'Eautel.||The hotel otherwise is okay - a litle worn around - especially the roof top pool - or what you can call it ;)

We appreciate the position of the hotel and the professionality of the staff. We expected a lower price for the breakfast because it was very expensive but generally I would suggest this hotel especially if you visit for the first time the city of Tolone.

We had a amazing stay in this hotel! We enjoyed the roof top pool before evening and visited a great bar located on the backyard.||The room was comfortable but there was a little noise from the lift located on side of the room.||Hotel is located in the city center with garage. Staff was very helpful and managed our early check-in.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend staying at l’eautel Toulon. The room was clean and comfortable (and dog friendly). The location, less than 100m from the port more than satisfied our desire to stay by the water. While the staff were very welcoming, efficient and worked to make our stay an enjoyable one. The Sunday brunch on the day of our departure was a great way to end our little holiday.
