L On North

This review is long overdue, but I had to give credit where it’s absolutely due. I came in on Thanksgiving, solo and away from my family, and the experience genuinely made the day special for me. The service was incredible from start to finish, and the pre-fix courses were delicious, thoughtfully prepared and comforting in the best way. I believe my server/bartender was Nick, and he deserves a huge shoutout for being warm, attentive, and making me feel truly welcomed instead of “alone at a table.” The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the kindness shown that day meant more than I can probably put into words. Thank you for turning what could’ve been a tough holiday into a really lovely one.

This was a great place to come with a larger group since the menu was very diverse. There was something for everyone! Our waiter was attentive and the food came quickly. The RKO burger was delicious and did come with two patties on it so it was very filling. The photo pictured is the tomato basil soup.

Ate here with some friends after a show at the Strand theatre. Food for all of us was excellent. Dishes included blacken Mauhi, tuna steak and chicken dishes. Server was very attentive and flexible. Atmosphere was cozy and good for conversation. Would eat here again.

Visited on Friday, January 23 at 8p. This is not a good review. My sister suggested this restaurant for a group outting with our families. I must say we felt very neglected. When we arrived it was pretty empty. There was only one other table sat. Atmosphere- More of a shotgun layout with the bar and a live band up front. We sat in the back. Food- We started with some appetizers. Fried Goat Cheese- Was good, but I do not like the tomato jam that was with it. Mussels- They had a very weird taste. We were trying to figure out what it could have been. It was like an odd fishy taste. Not the good, fresh seafood taste. Greek Chicken Croquettes- My Husband said it had zero flavor. Like they thought the balsamic glaze was enough. We had burgers and tacos for our meal. Those were very good. No complaints. Drinks- My husband ordered a sweet tea that he never received from our server. We had to ask the bartender. I ordered a spicy Margarita which was okay and a Blueberry Cosmopolitan that was really good. Service- This is where it gets bad. When we arrived, our server who did not give her name, was not welcoming whatsoever. She just stood behind us expecting for us to know what she needed from us. I had to ask her who's order she was trying to take because she was just standing there. Once our food came, we never seen her again. We wanted to order desserts and more drinks. My brother in law had to go and get her because people were out of their waters, sodas and teas. While he went to go get her, we noticed the other workers clearing the tables around us. Like they were closing. But the band was still playing. Our server finally came with the checks and I looked at the time. It was 9:33p. I checked what time they closed and it said 10p. I asked her if those were our checks and she, with an attitude, says yes it takes time to break up the checks. I told her we were planning to order dessert and another drink! Who doesn't check on their table at all or ask what else we would like?! She literally dropped our food off and we never seen her again until she brought our checks. I am getting more upset typing this review. Another thing, the other workers started to clear our tables like they were rushing for us to go. The entire thing felt extremely disrespectful. As we were leaving, there was about 10 people still hanging out at the bar. So why were we treated this way?! No one likes to hear about race, but what other reason could it have been?! We were a group of Black and hispanic people that felt rushed out 30 minutes before closing. And the nerve to get an automatic tip after such service. I will never patronize this establishment ever again!

Our group of 8 enjoyed our dinner at L, Nov 15th. The best part was our precious server Isabella. She kept our drinks filled, got all orders correct & she was a joy to talk to. Excellent food & a great location. We’ve been here before and we’ll be back again.

Went for lunch with 3 friends. Got Fish Sandwich. Told server fish had turned bad, ate half of bun with the lettuce & tomato. Asked to have meal reduced by half as I could not eat the fish. Manager offered dessert as compensation. I told them I do not eat desserts for health reasons. Manager offered 15% off which was about $3. I believe I was being fair offering to pay half for something that was spoiled & could not eat, because I ate most of the fries which were frozen & just okay. The others in my party, except one, were not impressed with their food. We 3 agreed we would not come back or recommend L On North, especially since there are some really good tried & true options on The Square.

We ended up this place while walking to another. Happened to like the curbside ambience in that day. We sat inside since the remaining outside tables were in the brutal sun. The restaurant was empty at the time. Our waitress was amazing... Forgot her name... Sorry. She was attentive to the details of our customized menu orders and brought everything promptly. Food was delicious with a micx across the table of four with fish tacos, steak tacos, fish burger and chicken burger. I got a Tropicalia beer, friends got vodka, and waters. The waitress was supper friendly and helpful. She was the only wait staff at the time I believe. Would definitely go back there

I've been going to L on north for Valentine's Day for 4 years in a row. This past one was one of the worst dinning experiences I've had. Waited 20mins to get waters, this after waiter came to the table to ask for drink orders and immediately took off after my date said water, did not allow me to order. The table we got sat in was in the upper level, really reduced space with uncomfortable aluminum chairs with some padding on them, felt as if the chair would break if I adjusted myself. They definitely tried to cram as many tables as they could, which led to poor service from the servers. Not entirely the servers fault, more of a management fault for overbooking. The server could've been more attentive, she did forget a couple things. The food we got was the Pork loin and the chicken Francesca. The pork was a thin cut, the reduction sauce was overly salty, the sweet potato was barely warm and only 4 small pieces, mushroom was chewy. The chicken overall was good, just barely warm. But taste and presentation was good. We were there for 2 hours before we got the dessert. Which was disappointing. Taste and looked like it came out of a frozen box. Like I said, I've come to this establishment for 4 years straight for Valentine's Day and regularly eat out here for dinner and Brunch. It had never been this bad. I am most certain that management is responsible alone for this. I would think twice about visiting again on a holiday.
