If I'm being perfectly honest, I have to say that this restaurant was a little bit underwhelming for me. My friends and I came here because it was apparently rated the 4th best restaurant in Madrid on TripAdvisor, so I was expecting some really, really great food.
Before I talk about the food though, I want to just say that the restaurant itself is quite aesthetic (and deceptively large). The main dining area is tastefully decorated and looks very modern, and the ambiance is perfect for couples going out for a date. At the end of the main dining room is an open kitchen workstation where one of the chefs prepares many of the dishes for the evening.
Onto the food.
The tapas here are excellent and are arguably worth the trip by themselves. My table got the patatas bravas (our staple tapas dish) and a mixed plate of croquettes. The croquettes were presented on a beautiful stone dish and came with an aioli dipping sauce. The tigre croquettes (made of mussels) were particularly unique and are worth trying because I haven't seen them anywhere else in Spain yet.
As for the main entrees, the specialty fish dishes are quite good. I got the salmon tataki and my friend got the marinated mackerel. Both dishes were presented like artistic, bite-size pieces of sushi/sashimi and the combination of the fish with the sauce was quite tasty. Although presented beautifully, these dishes were, unfortunately, not incredibly filling.
The rest of my table got the steak pizza, the steak with chimichurri sauce, and the vegetable plate. The steak pizza is interesting and potentially worth trying because the meat is actually used as the base (instead of a topping) of the pizza. Personally, I do not recommend the steak with chimichurri sauce because the meat came out incredibly tough and difficult to chew. My jaw actually hurt after a while while trying to get through the meat. This might just be the Spanish style for cooking steak, but it was not a good steak by American standards. The vegetable dish was pretty standard.
The service here is good, and the waitress we had spoke pretty good English. Overall, we had a nice dining experience (3 bottles of wine will do that), but I was still a little disappointed by the main entrees. I definitely didn't think they were worth the price they charge. If you're planning on trying this restaurant, just come for the tapas and wine.
