Omelettes and burritos here were really good. They gave me the wrong burrito but compensating me later. The peach smoothie was also good too. I would recommend it

First time here at this bakery and cafe. The wife ordered her first ever cannoli and she ordered an iced caramel macchiato. The location is nice since it is one street over from the main street. They gave a nice selection of pastries but you better get here early if you want to get your favorite pastry.

My daughter and I eat here because of her allergies. They smile and are pleasant; up until the last time we went, they would substitute. They will upcharge, and the average 2-person lunch can range from 50 plus to 60 dollars. I dont mind paying more, but then let me have what I want. It is a cafeteria atmosphere and very loud. If you have hearing issues, this is a difficult place to converse as an older person. Now that we are told "no" on substitutes we wont be returning.

Excellent bread toasted to perfection! I had the Reuben and my wife had the BLT with avocado. Fast service, outside seating. Sandwiches were excellent. We’ll be back to sample the desserts which looked DE LISH, and possibly buy a loaf of that scrumptious bread!

Went there today for the first time. So happy to have discovered it. Back patio and seating available in the front. Dog friendly. Staff were super friendly. We will stop by again when we’re in Carson City.

Google
A tasty, popular bakery with simple, good eats for lunch and breakfast. I got the 1/2 sandwich and half salad combo for lunch, and tried their sugar free oatmeal cookies (they are ok - I think apples would have been a nice addition!) Lots of seating available inside, and plenty of street parking around the shop.

Excellent breakfast and lunches. Really enjoyed everything I ate here, staff are so friendly and helpful. Fresh ingredients and some great stuff on the menu, wish I lived closer I would be coming here all the time!

At 12:30, lunch time, when we arrived the muffins and baked goods were already gone. 12:30! This is nothing new. There have never been baked goods when weve gotten there but 12:30 was the earliest we've arrived. We got our orders in and went to the side room to accommodate the 5 of us. When they brought our sandwiches we were told we had to be out of the room in a half hour because they were closing and cleaning it. There was a line to the end and around the order counter. Where do they expect these people to sit? Another customer with a baby in a carrier came in and sat in the room while we were eating and they told her she'd have to move. I felt this was rude because there were very few tables in the main room and a big line. There were 4 in her party My sandwich was not good. I ordered the Ham Lovers special. One half had one slice of thin ham. The taste was awful. But everyone in my party was half done eating and I chose not to reorder. This isn't the first time we've been run out of the side room or it was closed. The last time we went we had to take our food to go because there was no seating. I think it will be a while before we return. It's crowded and noisy in the small dining area. Most of their food is good but not worth being crammed in a small area and putting 5 people at a table for 4.

Yelp
Always fresh, always delicious, food Always friendly and courteous staff There's usually a place to sit, but L.A. Bakery is very popular and frequently busy so sometimes it's standing room only. Treat yourself to one of Carson City's finest eateries

Yelp
Split Pea Soup? Yes, please. No, theirs does not have the little bits of ham that bring my taste buds to attention, but it is still very good. Stopped in for a quick lunch with soup on my mind. Check all the boxes: Quick service (even at 1:00), lunch, and soup. I just luv this place... open, tall ceilings, not super loud, and bright with lots of windows.

Yelp
Delicious mocha and wonderful spinach feta croissant. The pastry is flaky and tender. It is a little sweet but that's minor. The cafe also has shopping opportunities with crafted and imported hippie stuff. And it's 2 blocks from my boyfriend's house. So awesome! The ambiance is light and welcoming. I'll never make coffee again. Friendly service and homemade goat milk soap. Love it.

Yelp
Love this amazing bakery/cafe in Carson City. If you are in town you must stop by. They have the most delicious baked goods but also serve great sandwiches, burgers and salads. The Turkey Delight on sourdough is my favorite. Turkey and cheese with a cranberry walnut spread. I bought a chocolate mouse cup to go that looks amazing. Everyone is so kind who works there. And the place is just adorable. Plenty of tables and they have a room that can be closed off with barn doors for a larger party if needed.

Yelp
Ran into a friend in Carson. She said I had to go to LA Bakery for lunch. It's her fav place. The food is very fresh. I can see why it's her fav place. Got there around 11:30 the restaurant was pretty full. I wanted a lighter lunch so I ordered half chicken, red pepper, spicy mayo on ciabatta and a cup of soup which was lentil soup. Both were delicious. The chicken breast is juicy with a generous red pepper spread on it. The bread is soft and delicious. The lentil soup is sooo delicious and filling. All this for $11!!! The restaurant got super busy around noon. I can see why this place is Carson favorite.

Yelp
Yum! On our day trip a friend suggested L.A. Bakery as a possible snack stop/lunch option...after searching on Yelp and never having been here, sounded like a winner to me. I went with the Turkey Melt, which was perfect, portion and delicious. I ordered this Guava Punch Kombucha which I hadn't tried before but fell in love with it. On the way out I ordered a Lavendar latte and a Peanut Butter dessert, wow everything was incredible and I told my friend if I'm ever in the area again for work I will add this to my lunch stop lists. The place was packed to the brim and as we were seated to another area were informed this room would close in 30 minutes due to an event. They seem to do well, although this business is tucked away. Another great dining establishment that has been around in Carson for some time.

Yelp
I've been raving about L.A. Bakery and today I brought my daughter in. She had a Mocha and Salted Caramel Scone and I had a Green Tea Latte and Strawberry Chocolate Scone...absolutely delicious. She also had a Mango Smoothie to go. She loved how creamy it was compared to others. Staff is also so nice!! Love it here.

Yelp
I have heard so many good things about this place! I was excited to come here for lunch. I ordered the BLTA on Rye. Kinda surprising there is nothing that comes with it. When I record the sandwich it looked so good. After a few bites, I realized it did t have a lot of flavor. It looked there was a good amount of bacon, but on further inspection, there wasn't very much. It was kind of disappointing. Someone in my party ordered the cheeseburger. This came out looking amazing. They had to order the fries separately. The burger was very good! I look forward to trying this place again. I don't base my opinion on one visit. I will come back to try some other items.

Yelp
Back in for my Crack dealer; Chocolate Mousse in a chocolate cup, with a chocolate spoon. I need another hit!

Yelp
This is a fantastic place. The lunch crowd size says it is great. We've eaten here 1-2 to times a week. Everything we have had is very tasty. The sandwich and salad portions are huge. At 71 we split them often and get stuffed!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm going to keep it brief. Everything I have eaten here is delicious, whether it's been lunch food or pastries. A must try in Carson City.

Yelp
Yelp check-in = A free cup of house coffee and they honored it with my purchase. Quality/Quantity - Sticky Bun - Better of the two pastries. Tiramisu Cup - My wife said it was just okay. Overall a good selection, see pictures. Atmosphere - Decent size location. Indoor and outdoor seating. Semi private room. Small parking lot, but plenty of street parking. Free wifi which I did not use. Open 6 days a week. Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm, Saturday from 8am to 3pm, closed Sundays. Service - 5 stars, everyone was welcoming and super nice. They even offered me a bag as they noticed I was struggling carrying all my purchases. Online ordering available. Price - $15; expensive, but that is the cost for quality. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2009 as Shirini Shop and congrats on this location since 2012...? I will now be a regular customer. I did not know you were a franchise system.

Yelp
Wow the pastries! Decadent, unique flavor combos, giant portion sizes, amazing presentation! The desserts at LA bakery were scrumptious, and I love how many gluten free options they had for my gluten free friend. The honey lavender cake was a standout! The lemon bar was one of the richest most decadent I have ever had. The cannoli was perfection. My mouth is watering just thinking back to the sweet filling and light crispy crunch. I didn't enjoy the lunch sandwich option as much, I opted for the grilled cheese. It was fine but not exciting or unusual in any way. I will come back time and time again just for the desserts but I'll skip the savory real food next time!

Yelp
I've been to LA bakery over a dozen times. Sometimes for pastries, often for lunch, occasionally for breakfast. LA Bakery is a Carson City staple. It produces consistent quality and has some great healthy options. They also have phenomenal pastries that I think beat out the other bakeries in town. The service here is usually good. The line can be long but once you order it doesn't typically take too long to get food. They usually bring the food to you but often you end up bussing your own table. I have two main issues with LA Bakery. First is the prices. Everything here is costly. A side of small fries for $4.99? The bakery items are also quite expensive. A single pastry is often $4+ which is ok for some but crazy for others, like a single cookie. For Carson City, it just seems like a lot. My second issue is that I find most of their menu quite bland. The menu doesn't change often and none of the menu items jump out at me. I find myself ordering the same few items because when I branch out, I'm disappointed by the price to tastiness ratio. I think LA Bakery is a great place to stop and enjoy a meal and take some tasty treats. They have great indoor and outdoor space. You won't leave disappointed, but be wary of the prices and study the menu. I recommend the Lily Melt or one of the burgers as those are usually quite tasty. Enjoy!

Yelp
I am blown away by the quality of food. I got here at LA bakery! I had the turkey melt sandwich as well as some peanut butter cookies. That turkey melt sandwich was incredibly well made, and full flavor! On top of that, they make their own red for the sandwich, which blew me away! And just biting into it, one could tell the quality bread that they used for the sandwich. It was crispy, consistent, and freshly tasting. On top of that, the peanut butter cookies were excellent! They were just the right consistency, crumbling in my mouth once I took a bite, and rich in flavor.

Yelp
I went here with colleague for lunch. Excellent service and food! They had plenty of seating with lots of natural light from the window, great ambiance. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
**LA Bakery Review** I recently visited LA Bakery and was blown away by their unique and delicious baked goods. The variety they offer is impressive, with some really creative combinations that you won't find anywhere else. I tried the blackberry lavender muffin, which was an absolute delight. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the muffin was moist and fresh. My husband had the chocolate croissant, and he couldn't stop raving about how rich and flaky it was. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend checking out LA Bakery if you're in the area and craving something sweet and special!

Yelp
We've been here a few times now and I really want to like it. It is a great space with lots of seating, big windows and a friendly atmosphere. The brewed coffee is also quite good and you can grab your own refills. Servers are generally friendly. Unfortunately the food isn't that great and it's expensive for what you get. I had a good morning bagel with bacon, I thought the bacon would have been separate but it was chopped up and mixed in with the eggs, and that mixture was overcooked. It was on a cheese bagel but it didn't taste like a bagel, more like a crusty bun. I managed to eat half. My husband's breakfast burrito was ok. We've tried some of the baked goods and while they look great, they are hit and miss. Our last blueberry muffin was dry and only had a couple of blueberries on top - none inside. It's obviously a popular local place because it's always crowded. I might stop for coffee again but I'd skip the food.

Yelp
Everything about this cafe feels like a cozy home! A small trinket shop welcomes you at the entrance of the cafe. Per Barista Kat, I ordered a chorizo wrap, and it's the best chorizo I have yet to taste! 11/10. The LA Specialty wrap was super good, 9/10. Cardamom Latte with oat milk and a shot of espresso is now my fav new espresso drink, 20/10! Grabbed the Fall Maple Salad for our hike later on! From the friendly barista Kat, to the warm temperature of the cafe, and the varied assortments of savory and sweet treats will make you feel like you stepped into a hidden gem. Cafes like L.A. Bakery is what makes smaller cities like Carson City feel like you can live down here. Cannot wait to be back soon!

Yelp
We did take out for a working lunch. I got the lilys melt panini to be brace. It's bacon jalepeno berry jam and Swiss. (Photo from their website). It was SO flavorful and intriguing. Those jalepenos were fiery to say the least. I will be visiting back for more curious sandwiches.

Yelp
We continue to love the LA Bakery. On this occasion it was just after a doctors appointment and the omelettes we had hit the spot. As our pictures will attest, we will continue to frequent this spot.
google avatar

Breanne C.

Yelp
We have been searching for a go to pie place but unfortunately we were disappointed with these pies. We ordered 4 different pies for Christmas. Apple, pumpkin, blackberry, and sugar free berry. The pumpkin pie was underwhelming and not enough spice/ bland. The crusts weren't flaky like we were hoping. We'd like to try some other things off their menu but don't think we'll be getting pies.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been here dozens of times, and it has been reliably good. I came here yesterday and ordered a pastrami sandwich as usual, and it had more pickles than meat. It was disappointing as this was my favorite sandwich.
google avatar

Barbara V.

Yelp
I love the LA Bakery, great food, great service lots of items to choose from.. sourdough bread is fresh and great..it's my go to place.. my only criticism is food items in the case don't have prices listed., so you have to ask.. I just like to know the price of items when I'm considering purchasing.,other than that if you have the chance, you need to try the LA Bakery, you won't be disappointed .
google avatar

Yelp
I was introduced to LA Bakery during a community event, when they were in their original space. Since then. They built their current building, close to their original location. The food flavors and variety has only expanded! I have to visit with a preplanned budget as nearly everything (including the sugar, gluten, et al FREE") as they look and taste magnificent! The sweet treats definitely complement the savory items, yet each are delectable alone. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Josh O.

Yelp
Usually I like the food here but was craving a bagel with cream cheese and this is what I got when opening the bag at my office. Not quite a bagel and smashed?? It did have cream cheese though! Changed it to two stars, realizing this was just a hamburger bun squished down. Very unprofessional
google avatar

Leslie L.

Yelp
A fellow yelper referred me to this place since I as coming to Carson for the day. Man, they did not disappoint!! I came in at breakfast, and after perusing through the menu I decided to get the good morning bagel. I chose a plain bagel, with egg, bacon and Swiss cheese. It was absolutely perfect and filled me up for hours! All of their bakery items looked phenomenal, and their menu had way more options than I would have expected. Inside is open and inviting, with a lot of cute jewelry and other items available for purchase. I cannot wait to come back and enjoy more of their food/drinks!

Yelp
Great food! I was recently recommended to come here for lunch next time I am in carson city, so I did. The building is nestled near the old town part of carson city just off of the main drag. The parking lot is right in front of the main building and the back area has outdoor seating. The menu is pretty easy to navigate, I asked the hostess what she recommended, and she told me that they're known for their burgers, I took her recommended order and I was pleased. The burger was very tasty and homemade tasting. They have all sorts of baked goods here from cakes to macaroons. I did order a gluten free lemon bar, that I still have dreams about. Lol. This is a five star place from the food, service, and establishment. LA bakery has my stamp of approval!
google avatar

Genia W.

Yelp
I love the sandwiches! Everything is so fresh and the bread. All of the bakery items are so amazing!! I love the Eclairs and macaroons. I haven't had the chance to try the other bakery items, yet. It's a cute little place, love the atmosphere, and the staff are so nice!

Yelp
Great breakfast spot at Carson. The food and coffees are always great! Service is great and fast. Whenever I am craving for pastries, LÁ is the go-to spot!

Yelp
I had never been here and was brought by a friend. You are immediately greeted with a pleasantly smell and the voices of a busy establishment (rightfully so!) I ordered the Falalfel Wrap with no veggie and tzatziki sauce. The wrap was huge and the absolute best falafel I've had in a long time. There was so much feta and sauce it was dripping out which is MY FAVORITE. I ordered the tiramisu and it was...... different. It was a chocolate bowl with tiramisu moose and lady fingers on top. The flavor was great but it was soooo rich. A few more lady fingers would have balanced the texture. My friend ordered the BLTA and fries with an eclair to go. The eclair was a great price and this is a usual order for her so I know it's good. The service was so friendly and conversation at the register flowed so easily. Im super impressed with the food, service and prices.

Yelp
This sad little sandwich is what was given to me at 11.99 ! A fricken Costco dinner roll with a small dab of cream cheese and 1 small slice of lox folded over to make it look a little larger. And it was buttered? Maybe this was the first time the employee made one of these ? In that case it falls squarely on the management as they have not trained them properly. Or simply maybe this is all you get from LA Bakery for a Bagel? Somewhere a New York deli angel is fuming at the blasphemy of a Costco dinner roll provided as a Bagel.truly the last time I will engage in this charade of a Bakery. Update: LA Bakery commented below that the insufficient size bagels are made in house. Thank you for the confirmation LA Bakery that indeed it is purposeful to make the sandwiches small. 11.99 for a half size sandwich. Welcome to the era of Artisan Shrinkflation.

Yelp
Redemption Review. Today I caved and called to order a sandwich, I got zero qualms about the way I wanted it, they were more than happy to assist and the sandwich tastes delicious.
google avatar

Soni K.

Yelp
Great spot for lunch and snacks. Wide variety of menu perfect for a light soup/sandwich or a great tasting burger. The confectionery case was full of delicious looking cookies, cakes, muffins and bread. Place was quite crowded for lunch but we were lucky to snag a table somewhat easily and the order came out quite quickly.
google avatar

Jenny S.

Yelp
I've only been here once, but was very impressed by the fact that my sticky bun was made out of real live flaky pastry, which takes alot more work and care than the bready stuff that makes up the typical sticky bun.

Yelp
Cozy inside, smiling and friendly staff, delicious breakfast sandwich. Great experience overall plus i got a lovely ring at their in-restaurant store!

Yelp
Service was great! The cases looked great. Clean and friendly. My dad loved the chocolate cakes.

Yelp
Awesome place for lunch in Carson City. I've enjoyed every meal that I've had here since I discovered it about 3 years ago. Consistently yummy makes it a 5 for me and so many others. Order at the counter & then your soup, salad or sandwich is quickly made to order and delivered to your table. Fresh, clean and inviting ambience. This week I tried the chicken pita wrap & loved every bite. Many smiling faces there & I predict yours will be too.

Yelp
Picked up my birthday treats and I know they will be great because I have been here many times and their food and bakery items are fantastic. Service was fast and helpful. The decor and ambience was chic and upbeat. Also has kids menu, salads, Java, wraps, omelets and more.
google avatar

Yelp
This may seem like a low bar, but it's nice to go to a casual place that serves you coffee in an actual mug. In addition, baristas at LA bakery know how to properly make lattes and cappuccinos. I'm not a biggest fan of the sandwiches they serve for the price, but you come to a bakery primarily for the coffee and pastries (I'd hope). While I don't have any sensitivities or allergies, it's nice that they have both fresh and packaged items that are allergen-friendly (gluten-free and dairy-free). Next time I'll be trying one of their breakfast offerings and will update my review.
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
Great product, great service. Tiramisu is amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was ready. Obviously committed to their product and their clientele.
google avatar

Sherry N.

Yelp
The scrambled eggs weren't scrambled very well. Also very dry and cold by the time they were delivered. High priced hamburgers. The pastries however are delicious. Service is pretty good. It can get crowded.

Jason S.

Yelp
We were standing in line (10:58am) to order breakfast (ends at 11). Got to the register at 11:01 and they refused to serve us breakfast items. They said they made an announcement but we did not hear a thing. You would think they would at least honor the people waiting to order. Sad to see it go. I would think a little custom service would go a long way.
google avatar

Jamie E.

Yelp
Woman owned and women employed. So the food is delicious. Not the soup but the other stuff. I've ordered that burger a few times since via door dash. A waitress actually dropped a French fry in my water and she didn't replace it or even take it to off the table. That's why I knocked to a 4. There's a small boutique in there, featuring local artists which I really love. It's cute, quaint and I will go back there a lot before door dash stops me.
google avatar

Yelp
I love love love L.A. Bakery. Whenever I'm in town - I go back and forth like "do I really need a pastry" and the answer is always yes. If you want true breakfast pastries: scones, croissants, bear claws - you better get there early. I came in at 9:30 on a Thursday and they were wiped out! They offer a fantastic selection of gluten free pastries and treats as well as some food food options like sandwiches, omelets, bagels and more. I highly recommend the wake up bagel because it's a flaky brioche like bagel or the tasty tuna sandwich. The cannoli is phenomenal as is the tiramisu. This is also a one stop shop for gifts - they have gift certificates, locally made jewelry, photography prints, and more! The service is quick but super friendly, they have on site and street parking, they accept card - really my favorite spot in Carson

Yelp
Long line, but the food is great. I wanted "second breakfast," but got there at almost noon, so my choices were limited. My pineapple coconut scone was delicious. I would buy it again. The parking near the bakery was taken. Take any spot within one block and save yourself the headache.
