La Barbarie Hotel

Great hotel. Welcoming. Clean. Well presented. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. My go to hotel in Guernsey. Ideally one needs transport because it’s not in the centre of St Peter Port but the 10 minutes it takes to drive there are definitely worth it.

Such a friendly and welcoming hotel! Staff are kind and helpful and the rooms are clean with everything you need. Food is great…breakfast has a really good selection and the broader menu is excellent as well. ||I have visited several times now and I’m looking forward to my next trip!

The staff at La Barbarie were very welcoming and helpful throughout my weeks stay. My room was immaculate and very comfortable. I enjoyed dining at the restaurant, the food, service and ambience impeccable! Thank you so much for a memorable stay, I will certainly be back when visiting Guernsey

We had a lovely stay at this hotel and would 100% go back again! The staff were so friendly; my husband pulled his back out, and one of the staff members (I’m so sorry, I can’t remember her name now) kindly gave us her personal hot water bottle to help, which was really thoughtful. The breakfast was delicious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. If you looking for anywhere to stay I would highly recommend.

Can't fault the hotel . But be very wery of special offers as very misleading. Check if you get evening meal on first night Went on New Year's break and said Gala night (not) Nothing very boring no interaction from staff no atmosphere just an ordinary night only wished we had gone somewhere else More fun in a kids party.xx On a positive note Hotel lovely and food..x But won't go back on special offers or festive breaks as really nothing going on Unless you call balloons on floor and crackers on table New year.

Always great hospitality at La Barbarie - and great food! Everyone is so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Everything on the menu is a treat - so the restaurant is very popular with locals and visitors alike. This is our favourite hotel in Guernsey, highly recommended 😊

Fully met our expectations based upon other reviews. Staff very pleasant and providing excellent service. |The breakfasts and dinners we had were again very good.|Whilst our room and bed were very comfortable one or two items of furniture (wardrobe especially) need replacing.

Fantastic hotel in a great location, short bus ride to and from St Peters Port, excellent cliff paths to walk with lovely views and sea bays close by.||Staff are excellent, hotel provided an early check in, rooms are excellent and the food is superb. Highly recommended.

I came upon la Barbarie hotel and restaurant by accident after getting lost trying to find another one. It was not however a happy accident, thought the service was passable and they were able to seat a family of five at no notice. These are the only positive points I can make. I ordered the Cumberland sausage with mashed potato and red onion gravy, the wait wasn't bad but wasn't good either, the sausages were burned to the point where the blunt knife provided was barely able to cut through them, the mash was ok but not exceptional and the gravy was bland and relatively flavourless. My children, both under 5 had the cheese and tomato pizza, it was served too hot for them to touch let alone eat and it was swimming in sauce or may have seemed that way due to the utter lack if cheese. To sum up I will not be coming here again and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends
