Couldn't be nicer. The place is pretty, quiet, very clean and well taken-care of. Bedding is comfortable. Breakfast is amazing. Seating is at one long table, enabling meeting other guests. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Best of all is Daniel, the manager. I'm especially grateful that he accommodated me on emergency basis when my flight was canceled.

We spent three nights here and absolutely loved our stay. The charming courtyard, centered around a beautiful tree and an inviting outdoor kitchen, is where the lovely ladies of La Betulia serve a delicious homemade breakfast each morning. The rooms stay refreshingly cool—even during the hottest days—making it the perfect retreat after a day of exploring the city. Daniel is a fantastic host who goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. We’ll definitely be coming back!

10 minutes walk to the edge of downtown pedestrian streets. Close to small tienda, laundry, restaurants, quiet streets (cross one busy road, one way street). La Betulia and the staff are gems!!! Friendly, helpful people, brilliantly creative and generous breakfasts, grounds/kitchen very clean and neat, rooms cleaned and tidied daily. Guests are interesting and loads of ideas. Although the rooms are studios, there is a sitting table in each room - and the edges of the courtyard hosts tables, chairs, benches for gathering outside room or taking time for oneself.

A friend who had been a tour guide in Oaxaca recommended La Betulia for our stay. It is just at the edge of the historic district with most of the main attractions in El Centro a 10-20 minute walk away. The bed and breakfast is situated in a compound with a communal breakfast offered; a delicious way to start your day and meet fellow travelers. Our room was well situated and the bed was very comfortable. The charismatic manager, Daniel, was incredibly hospitable and gave us a lot of pointers for navigating the city; it was our first time. He was fluent in English and Spanish and fluidly switched between them. Since it was the holidays and we did not book early enough, we were unable to spend more than two nights, but would gladly return next time we are visiting this historic city.

What an incredible stay!!! La Betulia is everything you can imagine and more. Located right outside the Centro, perfect for noise control, but still walkable. The rooms are comfortable, cozy, and roomy. My favorite was the gorgeous courtyard. A different breakfast was served every day. You start out with your fruta and pan and then your main dish and cafecito. I honestly looked forward to it every morning. The ladies get there early to prep, cook, and serve. They are just lovely. Daniel, the manager, is amazing and full of suggestions. I highly recommend you stay at La Betulia. I can't wait to return!

Amazing stay at La Betulia! Daniel who manages the location is very friendly and helpful with any recommendations or questions. The women there that make breakfast and clean the rooms are wonderful and very accommodating with requests about cleaning/food preferences. The breakfasts were all traditional Mexican breakfast foods and cooked to order for each person. Every morning they had fresh squeezed juice and french press coffee. Assorted bread, yogurt, jams are also there everyday. They supply clean/safe to drink water at any time you need! The hotel itself is incredibly quaint, beautiful, and quiet. The courtyard is decorated beautifully and it is great just to sit outside in! Also great to meet other guests while at breakfast. Rooms were always clean, beds were large, and rooms were spacious. No air conditioning, but I had a large tower fan in the room that kept it plenty cool during the visit (October into November). I will definitely return when I visit Oaxaca next! I think this hotel was a large part of why I fell in love with the city! Also the location is close to many great shops and restaurants and the center is about 13-15 min walk downhill (coming back at night up hill is sometimes rough but taxis were between 60-80 pesos and easy to flag down). It is tucked away on a not busy street which is nice for noise as well as security. Not a “reception” area so no staff overnight, but they leave contact info in case of an emergency. Highly recommend!!!

Stayed here recently in the two bedroom apartment with friends. We really enjoyed our stay. A good location just outside of the busy commercial district - so is a lot quieter than some of the hustle and bustle of other hotels while still being walkable to everything. The host of the venue, Daniel, is incredibly helpful and made our stay wonderful.

Yelp
Great place to stay. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast each was fantastic, with a different traditional Oaxacan dish each morning, Daniel and staff are very nice and personable, and I loved meeting people from all over the world.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE. I had the great pleasure of joining a dear friend at La Betulia this July '21. Centrally located to downtown and charming Oaxacan streets filled with shops, cafes, shops, restos. Now all I am doing is dreaming of going back. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment which was so beautifully designed and spacious. I loved the morning fresh breakfasts that included a hot Oaxacan meal, always Mexican bread, fruit, granola, yogurt, coffee and tea. All Included in the stay. Daniel, the concierge is fantastic! He really knows everything and is so professional and helpful. The whole team is great! Daniel helped us coordinate our daily tours to neighboring towns and introduced us to some great taxi drivers and tour guides. I appreciated the quiet of the place. I see people mentioning they brought their children but when we were there it seemed to be adult only which we appreciated as it was also a working vacation for us. There are few places I leave with the desire to return right away. This is one of them! Especially if Daniel is still there!

Yelp
Amazingly wonderful place! Daniel, the manager, is wonderful and does all that he can to make certain each guest's experience is above average. Location cannot be beat and the included breakfasts are fantastic. I will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
This place is one of the cutest bed and breakfasts we have stayed at. It's very walkable from the main town square of Oaxaca City. The owners apparently bought an old property and redesigned pretty much everything while just retaining the traditional kitchen. And they've done a great job with it. We rented the upstairs 2 bed, 1 bath, with full kitchen apartment for our family of 4. The interior is done very well with traditional touches here and there. They have a fantastic bathroom with skylight in it. There is also daily housekeeping, and free wi-fi. Upon arrival, we found the house stocked with fruits, avocados, eggs, milk and hot chocolate, and fresh flowers on the table! The breakfast was delicious every morning. The staff was very kind to accommodate our vegetarian diet and made something tasty for us everyday. Breakfast consisted of one main dish like quesadillas, tlayudas, omelettes, etc., fresh fruit and fruit juice, yogurt and granola, hot chocolate, coffee, breads, and pastries. Breakfast tables are set up in the shady courtyard. The owners Pia and Carlos are very friendly too. They helped us with taxi service, and restaurant and shopping recommendations. They live right next door, and were always available throughout the day for questions. Pia also packed us a small snack as a goodbye gift :) Highly recommended place overall, we are looking forward to visiting soon again!

Yelp
Friendliest staff, comfortable beds, and delicious breakfast. Great location and walking distance to so many great places. Daniel was the sweetest and very helpful. Our stay wouldn't have been as enjoyable if it weren't for his help and recommendations. Will definitely be back

Yelp
This place is wonderful! The price is fair. The staff is very nice and helpful. My wife and I stayed with our 10 year old daughter in the room named Tobasiche with two double beds. The rooms look nice and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is just lovely. There is cereal and fruits, bread, homemade jam and, everyday, there is a special breakfast dish. It was always a wonderful surprise! The breakfast area is outside under a covered area. It looks beautiful and it is such a great atmosphere to share breakfast with the other people that stay at La Betulia. It's almost like a little community! During winter it can be a little chilly in the morning, so bring your sweater or jacket along for breakfast. The internet was working very well. There are two networks. One of them didn't work quite as well as the other. The one with the extension "mini" was practically flawless. One-time login and you are set. The rooms are situated on two floors surrounding half the patio. The door to the patio is closed and you need a key to get in. This is great. It is a very safe area and was really good for our daughter to spend some time in the patio cartwheeling or jumping around. Some tips: Bring your own blow dryer. - There is a safe in the room. It is cute but made of wood. But again: It is a safe place because of the locked patio. - There is the tiniest pizza place called Pizza Mia just at the corner. If you're hungry but don't feel like going out, ask them to deliver your order to La Betulia! - I had a little trouble finding the extra light switches in our bedroom. Look behind the pillows. They're right there! :-) Location: Just a few minutes to walk to Alcala, the main pedestrian street. It's a little farther to the Zocalo, the town square. I stayed three weeks in Oaxaca at three different places. This was, no doubt, my favorite. The atmosphere is just great. It's personal but not intruding. It's relaxing. It feels safe. - Enjoy Oaxaca!

Yelp
My family and I just stayed at La Betulia for 2 nights this past week and we are absolutely in love. I'd spent quite a bit of time in Oaxaca before, but this was my first tie visiting with my family - my husband, our 2-year old, 4-year old, and my mother-in-law - and we all loved it. The space is gorgeous - very comfortable rooms that are clean and cool and feel luxurious, with a beautiful common area for eating, reading, or, as it happens, having the kids run around during the day and/or playing cards after the kids go to bed. All of that would have been enough for me to adore this B+B, but then they also have a truly outstanding breakfast (with home-made jam that I wanted to buy by the liter), and the location is perfect - a very short walk to the center of everything and, critically, just 2 blocks from my favorite market in the city (Sanchez Pascuas - my favorite because it's big enough to have everything you need, but small enough that it's not overwhelming). The thing that stands out for me the most about La Betulia, though, is the team - absolutely lovely, caring people who looked out for everything we could have wanted. It's clear that La Betulia was created with love and continues to be cared for with attention and caring for everyone who stays there - that comes through in the space, the rooms, the staff, and in turn is reflected in all of the other delighted, friendly travelers we met there too. Enjoy your stay in this gem of a B+B in one of my favorite cities in the world!

Yelp
Wonderful B&B in Oaxaca. Spotless rooms, delightful breakfast, friendly and helpful hosts. We recommend it, especially is, like us, it is your first visit to Oaxaca.
