La Blava in Catalonia is an absolute gem! We had the pleasure of dining right by the sea, and the experience was nothing short of magical. The seafood was incredibly fresh, tasty and skill-fully prepared. The serene seaside setting added an extra layer of charm, making it the perfect spot for a meal whether a couple or a family. The staff were welcoming and kindly set us up on a table outside even though there was only space for 2 people when we arrived, they made space for us. The inside of the restaurant is quirky. We forgot to take photos of the starters - we did the sea bass ceviche with yuzu, patatas bravas and fried calamari which were delicious. For mains we did the turbot with celeriac purée, grilled octopus and the arroz meloso. Dessert, the carrot cake & chocolate cake were great. If coming in a busy period I would suggest reserving in advance to avoid disappointment. I highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

Everything was on point here. The view, the food, the colours of the restaurant (beautiful shades of blue). What stood out to me was the prawn salad as it was so refreshing and delicious, especially with the sweet and ripe mango bits. They were also generous with their toasted sesame garnish. Great service too, with all the staff being very attentive to every need. Kudos to the male staff with a very soft voice who made sure everything was alright.

Beautiful meal in a beautiful setting. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. It is a small intimate restaurant so reservations recommended and if you book in advance request a window or terrace seat to make the most of the beautiful setting. Would definitely recommend!

An atmospheric restaurant with an authentic style inside, overlooking the sea. There are several tables outside with a direct sea view, and indoor seating with very atmospheric furniture and ambiance. The cuisine is excellent! The octopus and sea bass were very good, rich in flavour, with quite large portions. For starters, the fried baby squid with aioli sauce is great. I highly recommend this place. Booking in advance is advisable.

We made a booking a couple of weeks ahead of our trip and boy were we not disappointed. Located right in front of the Palafrugell beach, we get a peek of the beach even seated inside. Food was amazing - had the best crispy squid, tasted like it was fresh from the sea and the best paella in Catalunya (perhaps even in Spain)! The “soccarat” burnt rice was heavenly. Savoured every bite! Our server was fantastic, friendly and provided great recommendations. Only comment is it does get pretty warm inside, perhaps a seat on the exterior might be more comfortable in the summer.

Another great place in Calella de Palafrugell! The athmosphere is one the nicest I have ever experienced, the patatas bravas were super good and overall experience was very nice. Try their wine and also girlies vegetable or pan con tomate!

As a Brit, I loved that they served food throughout the day so we could eat dinner at 7pm, whereas often in Spain restaurants don't open til later! The food here was excellent. We plan on attempting to replicate a couple of the homemade sauces that were served with the patatas bravas and squid when we get home. One dish, the dry rice with scallops, artichokes and trumpet of death mushrooms, was so good that it is on my top 10 dishes of all time. Fabulous location right on the beach. We were seated upstairs which had fabulous views over the beach. The staff were very friendly and the toilets were fun and clean! All in all a wonderful evening. Highly recommend

Yelp
We very much enjoyed our lunch here. The view of the water is breathtaking! We were seated inside in a cozy corner. The 3 of us ordered calamari (€14) with the best aioli dip ever, patatas bravas (€8) and of course the specialty black squid ink paella (€18 per person). With a splash of lemon it was absolutely delicious!! They also gave complimentary olives to start. Very cute restaurant, fantastic meal, great experience. Mucha gracias !

Yelp
Beat meal we had in Spain. The times I was delicious, the avocado crema served with calamari was amazing. The grilled veggies with times I were perfectly good and the sauce was spot on. Mussels in white wine were perfectly cooked and their version of Brad with tomatoes were best we had over our 10 day stay.
