The service at this place was very disappointing. The staff were unfriendly from the start. In the morning, I asked if they had any local rum because I wanted to try a regional product. Instead of a simple answer, I got a judgmental look and was told that the bar was closed and they only served coffee. The staff didn’t speak English, which made communication difficult. When we were returning from the beach and walked through the sand next to the place to take a shorter path, the staff started shouting something at us - I think they wanted us to walk around instead - but we couldn’t understand what they meant because they kept speaking to us in French. On Thursday, November 27th, there was also a very loud party that lasted until 2 AM. Since we were staying in a nearby hotel, we couldn’t fall asleep. Overall, the attitude of the staff completely put us off. It seems that if you’re a tourist who doesn’t speak French, you are treated with a lack of respect.

You cannot get closer to the beach if you tried. When the waitress realise we don't speak French she called the manager and he looked after us the whole afternoon. Had amazing prawns which was no more expensive than the fish dishes - bargain! Good size portions too. What a great way to while away a few hours in the shade, watching people playing in the ocean. Fantastic atmosphere! Beautiful view of the lagoon. Very peaceful, in spite of the party and loud music two doors over… My half-cooked tuna was quite good even though the fries were not freshly made. My wife had fresh fish with a pumpkin-like side which was quite palatable. Service was slow but very informative and friendly.

Lovely place with good food and great staff ! Make sure to book ! Specially if you want the lounge section

To all at La Bodega, Thank you for your awesome hospitality and being patient with us South African's explaining the cocktails and drinks into English. Thank you so much and we enjoyed your place so much, that we visited it twice. The food portions will large with lots of flavor. Cocktails were great. Well done.

Nice location at the beach. good food, prices are OK for that level of quality. The service depends extremely on the staff being at site. Sometimes very quick and friendly, sometimes it's a challenge to be served at all. Looks a bit chaotic. Staff seems not to have fix areas to deal with. That's why they sometimes forget some guests. Could be improved. When chief does not supervise, you can count on having chaos. That's everywhere the same and not a new conclusion at all!

Awesome food amazing spot with a great view. This is the Réunion experience!!

I used to spend a lot of time in that beautiful place where the waiters, the manager and the food were absolutely perfect ! ! ! We came back this year: WHAT HAPPENED?????? A useless manager, unfriendly waiters and no-tasty food with a HUGE PRICE ! ! ! hey ! wake up ! you wasted such a wonderful place. It's really sad :(
