Disappointing and inconsistent entry policy.
I called ahead to ask whether a reservation was required and was clearly told by the receptionist that it was not. When I arrived with a friend, the doorman stopped us and claimed a reservation was mandatory. I explained that I had just spoken to the receptionist, but he refused to let us in anyway.
What made this worse is that two other people arrived immediately after us and were allowed to enter without a reservation. When I asked why, the explanation given was that they were a couple and we were not.
If entry depends on factors like whether you’re a “couple” rather than on reservations, that should be stated clearly and honestly. As it stands, the rules seem arbitrary and selectively enforced.
